Lu Chen grew up without an influential family or exceptional talents. After an unremarkable education, he spent several years working steadily and expected an ordinary future. His interest in Shrouding the Heavens, particularly the Nine Dragons Pulling a Coffin’s descent on Mount Tai, inspired the visit that led to his transmigration 1 9.

The Mount Tai he visited belonged to a different spacetime from Ye Fan’s Earth. Although he presented himself to Ye Fan’s classmates as another stranded tourist, he recognized Mars and knew the fictional world’s major events. Personality

Lu Chen combines ambition with caution. On Mars, he deliberately keeps a low profile because he understands that attracting the Crocodile Ancestor’s attention would be fatal. He seeks opportunities but recognizes that some treasures and taboos lie beyond what he can safely pursue 2 4.

His dissatisfaction with an ordinary life becomes the driving force behind his cultivation. After leaving the Desolate Ancient Forbidden Land, he chooses to explore the Heavenly Court Ruins alone rather than remain with the group. He studies foundational disciplines diligently and later emphasizes mastering techniques rather than merely collecting them 9 15 28.

His generosity is selective and guided by his own conscience. He helps fellow Earth travelers, supports Ye Fan, and repays Liu Yiyi and Zhang Wenchang for opportunities they would have received in another timeline. Conversely, he feels no obligation to intervene for Liu Yunzhi’s group and explicitly views his attack on the Divine Ring Gate as an exercise of freedom and strength, not a campaign for justice 8 28 36 46.

As his strength grows, he increasingly distinguishes protective treasures from his own cultivation foundation. He accepts the Human Demon’s warning against excessive reliance on external weapons and recognizes that using Saint or Emperor Weapons against peers would undermine the tempering of his Dao heart. Against elders whose realms greatly exceed his own, however, he considers such weapons legitimate means of survival 212.

Despite becoming one of the universe’s strongest figures, he shows little interest in ordinary struggles for territorial supremacy. In Great Red Heaven, twelve thousand years of battles against his reflection bring him so close to extinction that his pagoda must intervene to preserve his remaining true spirit.
