Power Progression
These milestones track the race’s documented collective strength and leading defenders, rather than a cultivation realm shared by all humans.
| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Primordial minority with exceptional Saints and Great Saints | 145 210 268 | Most humans lived under primordial royal clans. Dongfang Taiyi was an exceptional Great Saint who cultivated both human mother scriptures. |
| Succession of Great Emperors | 145 | After the Primordial Era’s upheaval, successive human Great Emperors established humanity’s long rule over Big Dipper. |
| Few publicly active Saints | 198 | Human Saints were largely hidden. Wei Yi’s intervention against an Ancestor King demonstrated that humanity still possessed living Saint-level protectors. |
| Saint-slaying younger generation | 256 262 | Lu Chen killed an Ancestor King while still a King. His combat strength did not mean that he had already entered the Saint realm. |
| Revealed Saint, Great Saint, and Quasi-Emperor reserves | 269 | Jiang Taixu, Dongfang Taiyi, Wei Yi, the Undying Old Man, Qishi Mansion’s Old Mansion Master, and Gu Tianshu gathered; Gai Jiuyou displayed power extending into the Quasi-Emperor realm. |
| Great Saint leaders among the younger generation | 352 | Lu Chen and Ye Fan became Great Saints whose influence extended across the starry sky. |
| Human Supreme before proving the Dao | 393 | Lu Chen’s strength exceeded that of a Great Accomplishment Sacred Body, deterring Forbidden Zone Supremes despite his not yet having proved the Dao. |

| Two Heavenly Emperors | 431 | Heavenly Emperor Chen and Heavenly Emperor Ye personally eradicated the Six Life Forbidden Zones during their lifetimes. |
Racial Traits
- Weak at birth, strong in potential: Lu Chen describes humans as naturally weak but possessing innate intelligence, exceptional learning capacity, and immense potential 41.
- Innate Dao-compatible form: Human form is described as the shape of an innate Dao physique. In the Primordial Era, this advantage provoked resentment from powerful ancient races 210.
- Diverse constitutions: Human cultivators include ordinary physiques, the Desolate Ancient Sacred Body, innate Dao embryos, and the human king body 21 151 298 431.
- Physique is not destiny: Lu Chen ultimately becomes an emperor with an ordinary body, while Ye Fan’s Human Sacred Body grants him exceptionally abundant life essence 431.
- Race-specific medicinal limits: The Demon God Flower benefits Demon Race younglings but is useless to humans 41.
Cultivation and Heritage
Human Body Secret Realms
- Human cultivation develops through the Wheel Sea, Dao Palace, Four Extremes, Dragon Transformation, and Immortal Platform Secret Realms 15 22 168.
- Earlier secret realms continue growing after a cultivator enters later ones. All five reach complete perfection only at the pinnacle of Quasi-Emperor 22.
- Each heaven of the Immortal Platform represents a gulf comparable to an entire preceding major secret realm 168.
- Cultivation methods, secret techniques, talent, and physique can create enormous differences in combat strength between cultivators of the same realm 21.
Mother Scriptures
- Taiyin Ancient Scripture and Solar Ancient Scripture — Humanity’s two mother scriptures, coveted by the Myriad Dragon Nest 268.
- Dongfang Taiyi cultivated both, but their conflicting powers contributed to his disordered state. Purple Mountain’s transformed Yin-Yang Eyes offered him a way to comprehend the Dao and resolve that conflict 145.
- The Myriad Dragon Nest preserved him in divine source after failing to extract the scriptures from his consciousness; attempts to force the issue threatened to make him self-detonate 268.
Imperial Inheritances
- Human Great Emperors left supreme Dao lineages considered superior to the inheritances of Saint Kings and Great Saints 266.
- Twelve human emperors appear as Dao-mark lightning during Lu Chen’s tribulation: Wushi, Ruthless, Taiyin Human Emperor, Sun Human Emperor, Hengyu, Void Emperor, Jiuli Great Emperor, Taihuang, Divine Continent Great Emperor, Fuxi, Nuwa, and Chaotic Ancient Great Emperor 216.
- Holy lands preserve inherited Saint Weapons and other ancestral treasures capable of securing their continued prosperity 101.
Institutions and Territory
Major Human Powers

Human Race Ancient Road
- Numerous smaller routes from different star domains converge at Human Race First City, the first major stronghold of humanity’s Emperor Road 292.
- Entrants come from Ancient Life Stars as well as smaller worlds and heavenly domains created by Sages 291.
- The First City’s lord serves as a guiding envoy, directing outstanding talents through the pass and toward subsequent trials 292.
- Most entrants have reached the Saint domain; Half-Saints such as Lu Chen are unusual 291.
- Competition is lethal, and reaching the road’s ultimate end grants qualification to contend for the imperial throne 291.
- Lu Chen eventually completes the Human Race Ancient Road and follows a Guide Envoy into the Ultimate Land 337.
History
Primordial Subordination and Rise
In the Primordial Era, humans were a minor race whose powerful cultivators were far fewer than those of the dominant primordial clans. Most survived as vassals of royal clans; some clans treated them as livestock or food 145 210.
More than a million years before Dongfang Taiyi’s awakening, a great upheaval changed heaven and earth. The Primordial Myriad Races disappeared from public life, with some surviving underground in divine source. Humans and demons became masters of the land, and successive human Great Emperors secured humanity’s rule over Big Dipper 77 145.
Return of the Primordial Myriad Races
The revived ancient races challenged humanity’s territorial dominance and demanded cultivation resources. Human sects near their sleeping grounds were destroyed or forced to relocate, while even holy lands possessing Emperor Weapons initially chose self-preservation 200.
Humanity’s apparent lack of Saints encouraged radical clans to threaten extermination. Lu Chen’s defeat of Yuan Gu gave human spectators hope, and Wei Yi’s subsequent intervention forced the ancient races to reconsider whether human prodigies could be attacked without retaliation 195 198.
Destruction of Spirit Valley
Spirit Valley used Zi Tiandu’s death as a pretext to test humanity’s hidden strength. Other royal clans and several imperial clans supported the probe, hoping to determine whether a wider assault was possible 209 210.
Lu Chen enlisted Dongfang Taiyi to destroy Spirit Valley and buy time for younger human talents to mature. The royal clan and its three Ancestor Kings were eliminated overnight. Radical clans fell silent, and openly active ancient races became more restrained, fearing that humanity concealed an unrivaled Great Saint 210 214.
Jade Pool Assembly and Qixia Plain
The Wushi Bell’s prolonged ringing created uncertainty over whether Great Emperor Wushi remained alive, deterring an immediate declaration of war. Primordial Imperial Clans then called the Jade Pool conference to force humanity to reveal its strength 253.
At the gathering, an Ancestor King humiliated human cultivators before Lu Chen killed him. The dispute later resumed on Qixia Plain after Ye Fan defeated and killed Yuan Gu. Ancient Kings used the duel as another opportunity to pressure the Human Race 254 256 262 263.
Jiang Taixu, Dongfang Taiyi, Gai Jiuyou, and other hidden human experts appeared in succession. Their combined presence made the cost of war unacceptable even to primordial imperial clans, leading to negotiations 264 267 269.
Qixia Agreement
| Provision | Terms |
|---|---|
| Saint-level restraint | Experts at Saint level and above were forbidden from taking action at will 269. |
| Territorial allocation | Each primordial settlement received the territory within a radius of two hundred thousand miles 269. |
| Mining concessions | Human holy lands withdrew from a substantial portion of mining areas around the Primordial Ancient Mine 269. |
| Younger-generation competition | Rivalry among younger cultivators continued while senior experts restrained themselves 269 270. |
| Lu Chen’s exception | He did not have to withdraw with the Saints, but promised not to attack the Ancient Emperors’ sons at will 270. |
The agreement prevented an immediate large-scale war and created a period for the races to recuperate and rebuild 269 270.
Immortal Road and Forbidden Zones
At the later gathering in Dark City, other races proposed removing humans from Big Dipper because humanity’s population greatly exceeded theirs. Lu Chen killed the advocates and defeated two Great Saints, ending open discussion of expulsion 351.
During the dark turmoil, Gai Jiuyou, the Mars Great Accomplishment Sacred Body, Shennong, Yellow Emperor, and Emperor Weapons fought the Forbidden Zone Supremes. Stone Emperor was the only Supreme to survive that conflict 361.
Humanity later gained stronger defenders in Lu Chen and Ye Fan. Their campaigns culminated in the eradication of the Six Life Forbidden Zones; neither Heavenly Emperor chose to perpetuate those zones’ methods of survival 412 431.

- Black Tortoise Demon Saint — An allied defender who fights beside Lu Chen and Jiang Taixu, but is explicitly distinguished from a Human Race Saint 262 266.
- Eternal Kingdom powers — Their invasion of primordial territories diverts pressure from humanity, although they themselves treat outsiders as inferior lifeforms 251 253.
