Power Progression
Lu Chen’s documented advancement toward the title distinguishes an Immortal King-level physique from complete attainment of the realm. His original body, Chaotic Ancient Method incarnation, and newly created cultivation system advance separately 464 475 496.
| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Approaching an Immortal King physique | 455 | Repeated life-and-death battles against his reflected self within the Void Immortal Gold Stele strengthen his body beyond the True Immortal level. |
| Immortal King-level physical body | 456 | Awakens after ten thousand years of slumber with an Immortal King physique and combat power. This is physical attainment, not complete entry into the realm. |
| Strengthened Immortal King physique | 472 | Two years studying the four texts of the Indestructible Scripture further strengthen his already king-level body. |
| True Immortal — Chaotic Ancient Method incarnation | 485 | His incarnation attains immortality in the Other Domain. Its advancement supplies a prerequisite for overcoming his original body’s remaining obstruction 475. |
| Eternal Realm — new cultivation system | 496 | Reaches the fourth major realm of his own method, equivalent to True Immortal. His body and primordial spirit remain undying under the River of Years. |
| Pinnacle of immortality — final breakthrough attempt | 496 | Ten years later, absorbs chaos essence, his former body’s shattered bones, and Anlan’s remains while confronting the laws of all heavens. |
| Complete Immortal King Realm — supreme giant | 497 | Withstands the judgment of the laws of all heavens in both flesh and primordial spirit, completing his ascension through his new cultivation system. His strength exceeds that of ordinary Immortal Kings. |
Rank and Attainment
Position in the Cultivation System
| Realm | Defining distinction |
|---|---|
| True Immortal | Time can no longer erode the body; the cultivator attains eternal, undying existence 455. |
| Immortal King | Can cross the River of Time, travel between past and future, and create or destroy a vast universe 455. |
| Quasi-Immortal Emperor | A higher realm reached by only a scant few across countless eras and worlds. Such figures are also called Dao Ancestors 455 461. |
| Immortal Emperor | A still higher realm, far beyond Lu Chen’s immediate goal when he begins pursuing kingship 455. |
- Immortal King is treated as the highest established realm within the Nine Heavens and Ten Lands, Immortal Domain, and Other Domain during the Chaotic Ancient Era. This does not mean that higher realms do not exist 460.
- Kings are not equal in strength. Giants or titans among kings, such as Wushang and the newly ascended Lu Chen, stand above ordinary holders of the rank 493 497.
- Advancing beyond kingship requires creating an independent cultivation system; merely following another person’s system cannot establish someone as a Dao Ancestor 461.
Breakthrough Requirements
- Physical strength alone is insufficient. Lu Chen possesses an Immortal King body and corresponding combat power long before his Dao and methods fully enter the realm 456 464.
- The primordial spirit must transform. It must survive baptism, soar beyond the heavens, and become an Immortal King Dao Fruit 496.
- The tribulation is a judgment of laws, rather than an ordinary lightning tribulation. During Lu Chen’s breakthrough, rules and orders from across time and beyond his world descend upon him 456 496 497.
- Incomplete world laws can obstruct advancement. Lu Chen initially believes the damaged Nine Heavens and Ten Lands and incomplete Immortal Domain cannot support a normal Immortal King breakthrough. His first physical advancement uses the stele as a special method 456.
- Failure can destroy both body and Dao. Even an overwhelmingly powerful physique cannot guarantee success if the primordial spirit fails its trial 496.
Rank Versus Combat Power
- Lu Chen’s early condition is compared to a Great Accomplishment Sacred Body: capable of fighting at a higher realm without fully attaining it. His physical kingship gives him combat power comparable to the Ten Fiends 456.
- A True Immortal at Immortal Fall Ridge calls him a “Quasi-Immortal King”, but the later account explicitly distinguishes his king-level flesh from complete kingship 473 496.
- A forbidden-zone observer states that, among the Ten Fiends, only the True Dragon had fully entered the Immortal King Realm 496.
- The last king of the Primordial Imperial City merely inherits a kingly title. He is a True Immortal, not an actual Immortal King 487.
Abilities & Skills
Time and Cosmic Authority
Immortal Kings possess powers extending beyond a single world 455.
- Cross the River of Time and travel between past and future 455.
- Create or destroy a vast universe 455.
- Exert enough combat power to surpass the combined strength of three Red Dust Immortals; Lu Chen uses this power to open the Immortal Domain gateway alone 456.
- In Lu Chen’s case, encompass the entire Eight Lower Realms with a single thought 458.
Physical Body, Blood, and Presence
Even a fragment of an Immortal King’s power can threaten lower-ranked cultivators.
- A single drop of king blood makes stars tremble, causes the myriad Daos to wail, and manifests the River of Years 481.
- Merely speaking Wushang’s name causes a portion of his divine might to manifest across the Heavenly Abyss 493.
- Killing measures left in a deceased king’s dwelling remain dangerous long after its owner’s death 457.
- Relics left by Immortal King giants can injure Lu Chen while he possesses only physical kingship 464.
Laws, Barriers, and Domains
Immortal Kings can establish enduring supernatural environments and defenses.
- Multiple Immortal Domain kings jointly construct the Heavenly Abyss, a sea of laws targeting the Other Domain’s undying beings and higher experts 487.
- Its rules include curses and karma, making passage dangerous even for kings 491.
- The Roar Clan Leader evolves Immortal Fall Ridge’s core into a near-deathless land comparable to the true Immortal Domain 496.
Limits and Vulnerabilities
- Kings can be wounded, suppressed, refined, and killed. Anlan ultimately dies inside Lu Chen’s pagoda 495.
- The Heavenly Abyss can erode Immortal Kings and demand a severe price in blood from those attempting to cross 491 493.
- Wushang’s immunity to divine abilities is a specific inherited clan art, not a universal Immortal King ability 493.
- Superior individual strength does not remove the danger of encirclement: Lu Chen eventually retreats under Kun Di and numerous kings’ combined assault 499 500.
Known Holders
| Holder | Association | Documented role |
|---|---|---|
| Lu Chen | Nine Heavens and Ten Lands; Purple Mansion Immortal Court | Attains complete kingship through his own cultivation system and becomes a supreme giant 497. |
| Anlan | Other Domain | Veteran of the Immortal Ancient war; suppressed and ultimately refined to death by Lu Chen 491 495. |
| Yutuo | Other Domain | Anlan’s friend and a participant in the campaign against the Heavenly Abyss 491 494. |
| Wushang | Other Domain | Titan among kings, ranked among the domain’s top three experts; possesses immunity to divine abilities 493. |
| Kun Di | Other Domain | Its strongest expert and master of the Immortal Refining Pot; seeks to advance beyond kingship 499. |
| Roar Clan Leader | Immortal Fall Ridge | Former Immortal Domain king residing in a Life Forbidden Zone; permits Lu Chen to study the lower Indestructible Scripture in exchange for Divine Guidance 473 496. |
| Green Lotus Immortal King | Chaotic Ancient Era | Becomes the Green Lotus Immortal Medicine after death; this lineage of transformation eventually produces the Azure Emperor 445. |
| Wuzhong | Nine Heavens and Ten Lands | A deceased supreme expert whose absence leaves the later Border Wasteland without his protection 487. |
| Six Paths Reincarnation Immortal King | Nine Heavens and Ten Lands | Another deceased supreme expert remembered during Anlan’s assault 487. |
History
During the Immortal Ancient war, the Nine Heavens and Ten Lands possessed kings capable of resisting the Other Domain. By Anlan’s later assault, figures such as Wuzhong and the Six Paths Reincarnation Immortal King had already died. The Other Domain retained numerous kings, including veterans responsible for the earlier devastation 487 491 493.
Some Immortal Domain kings remained in the Nine Heavens and Ten Lands and established secluded Life Forbidden Zones. Ominous dark power prevented those who had fought in the wars from returning to the Immortal Domain 472 497.
Lu Chen eventually became the only Immortal King to emerge from the Nine Heavens and Ten Lands in that era. After completing his breakthrough, he invaded the Other Domain, suppressed Wushang, and fought successive groups of kings before their combined assault forced him to withdraw 497 498 499 500.

- Immortal Refining Pot — Kun Di’s armament, capable of refining Immortal Kings 470 499.
- Bronze War Halberd — Wushang’s king-level weapon. It carries his immunity to laws and later falls into Lu Chen’s hands 493 498.
- Red King’s Furnace — A furnace renowned for slaying a king and being stained with Immortal King blood; it reportedly vanishes with its master 479.
