A troop of monkey-like demon beasts prowled through a forest. Just then, a passage appeared. The demon beasts stared at it and backed away, sensing a terrifying presence coming from within. The strongest-looking beast stepped forward, apparently their leader. It stared fixedly at the passage, every muscle taut, as though facing a formidable enemy.
Two figures gradually appeared inside the passage: Yun Tian and Ling'er. They had only just emerged, and before Yun Tian could take a proper look around, a monkey charged at him. With a casual slap, he sent it flying.
"You scared the hell out of me. Seeing you charge like that, I thought you were some badass. That's all you've got?"
As though it understood his words, the monkey spat out a mouthful of blood in fury and died. Its eyes remained fixed on Yun Tian, unable to close even in death.
Yun Tian watched this unfold.
"Uh, look at you. Why such a bad temper? You've gone and angered yourself to death."
The other demon beasts immediately scattered at the sight.
Yun Tian looked around. They were in a forest.
"Ling'er, where are we?"
"Hmm, husband, this seems to be the Sacred Ancestor Mountain Range."
"Hmm? The Sacred Ancestor Mountain Range outside Glory City?"
"Yes, husband. That's the place."
After confirming their location, Yun Tian spread out his spiritual sense. Why? Because he was hungry, and he remembered that the demon beasts in this world were edible. Although there was a monkey demon beast right in front of him, he couldn't bring himself to eat it.
Before long, Yun Tian found a pig and went over to it.

"Almost."

"It's ready."
Yun Tian tore off a pig's trotter and handed it to Ling'er.
"Here, try it."
Ling'er took a bite.
"Mmm, husband, it's delicious!"
"Husband, you're amazing!"
"Of course. Pig's trotters are your husband's specialty, after all."
As they ate, Yun Tian asked,
"Ling'er, what are the cultivation ranks here?"
Ling'er swallowed the food in her mouth.
"Husband, this world mainly revolves around Demon Spirit Masters. Their ranks include Bronze, Silver, Gold, Black Gold, and Legend. Demon spirits have ranks too, such as Common Rank, Good Rank, Excellent Rank, and Outstanding Rank. To reach higher realms, you have to visit what this world calls the Dragon Realm. Its patriarch served as the city lord, while the strongest Demon Spirit Masters in the other families were only Black Gold Rank.
Yun Tian looked at the people in the city. Not bad. The Wind Snow Family knows what it's doing. At least the people are living reasonably well.
The first thing to do after entering the city was find somewhere to stay, so Yun Tian took Ling'er to a place that specialized in property dealings. Before he could even enter, the owner came out to meet him.
"Young master, what brings you here?"
Yun Tian looked at the man. He had Gold Rank cultivation and was probably a member of one of the noble families.
"And you are?"
"Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm the owner here. I handle property transactions in the city."
"Perfect. I'm looking to buy a residence. Do you have any good properties?"
"Rest assured, young master. May I ask what requirements you have?"
Yun Tian considered it for a moment, then told the owner his requirements.
"Young master, we do have residences that meet your requirements, and one happens to be for sale right now. But as for the price..."
Yun Tian immediately realized the man was worried he couldn't afford it.
"Just tell me, boss. How much?"
"You're refreshingly direct, young master, so I'll be frank. It'll cost at least five million Demon Spirit Coins."
