Background / History

System Awakening and First Journey

Yun Tian comes from modern society and initially views multiversal travel as an opportunity to meet beautiful women from animation. His system provides adjustable attributes and explains that its Cultivation attribute works across worlds, allowing conversion to and from other cultivation systems 1 24.

After maximizing his attributes, he discovers that the System Shop offers its contents freely. Once assured that he can return home, he selects Shenbing Kids as his first destination. Only the animation-world category is available on the selection screen at this point 2.

In the new world, he asks the system to assume human form for companionship, names her Ling’er, and asks her to call him Brother Tian. With her help, he obtains Little Qing and Little Bai as Divine Weapon Beast companions 3.

Life in Nangong City

Ling’er informs Yun Tian that he has arrived forty years before the main Shenbing Kids story. He buys a courtyard in Nangong City and begins a leisurely life there 4.

His cooking attracts the sisters Yu Yin, Yu Feng, and Yu Yan, who become frequent visitors. When they leave to assume their respective offices, he gives each a protective magical sword. Nangong Wentian and Nangong Wenya are still born, although their mother differs from the original animation 5.

Twelve years after Yu Feng and Yu Yan’s departure, Yun Tian leaves Nangong City three days before the main story begins. He visits Yu Yin in the Jade Spring Kingdom, reciprocates her confession, and reveals information about the approaching danger and his own strength 6 7.

Interventions in the Jade Dragon Kingdom

Yun Tian initially watches Nangong Wentian’s journey from the sidelines. When Wentian and Heaven Crystal Beast fail to coordinate against Fierce Yama, he intervenes to protect Nangong Wenya and drives their attacker away. He then answers the warning from Yu Feng’s protective sword, evacuates her to Yu Yin, and confronts the Heaven-Earth Alliance Leader 10 11 12.

Rather than ending the conquest himself, Yun Tian remains nearby to prevent unexpected disasters during the children’s journey. At Sweetwater Town, he lets Wentian defeat the Spicy General before departing with Bailing 12 13.

His northern travels bring him into contact with Dongfang Tiexin and Beiming Xue. He stops Tiexin’s ambush at Clear Spring Mountain, later rescues Beiming Xue from an ice cave, and welcomes her into his traveling household. He also restores Tiexin’s and Phoenix’s lost memories, exposing the Alliance Leader’s deception 15 17 19 22.

Yun Tian reunites Beiming Xue with her father, Beiming Zheng, and subsequently rescues Dongfang Xiong from the sea. His relationship with Dongfang Xiong becomes romantic before he decides that the remaining storyline is too uninteresting to keep him in that world 27 29 34 36.

Arrival in Tales of Demons and Gods

Yun Tian chooses Tales of Demons and Gods by drawing lots. Before departing with Ling’er, he takes his other companions to the Jade Island Kingdom to stay with Yu Yan. The pair arrive in the Sacred Ancestor Mountain Range and travel to Glory City 36 37.

In Glory City, Yun Tian rescues an orphaned girl from Shen Yue’s men. Shen Yue’s threat against Ling’er provokes a much harsher response: Yun Tian kills the attacking servants and cripples Shen Yue. He then buys a house and takes the rescued girl, Li Yue, into his household 38 39 40 41.

Seeking a cultivation teacher for Li Yue, he visits the injured Fire Spirit God Yu Yan at the Heavenly Fortune Plateau. He secures her agreement to teach Li Yue, restores her Divine Body, and brings her home. He supplies cultivation techniques to both teacher and student 42 43 44 45 47 48 49.

His attack on Shen Yue draws attention from Glory City’s major families. The Divine Family plans retaliation while believing him absent; after returning, Yun Tian anticipates their nighttime visit and tells Ling’er to prepare 40 47 50.

Appearance

• Exceptional handsomeness: His Looks attribute rises from 8 to “Unknowable.” After the increase, he regards his reflection as perfect 1 2.
• Immediate effect on others: Yu Yin, Nangong Wenya, and Dongfang Tiexin are visibly struck by his appearance when meeting or encountering him 5 6 15.
• Youthful presentation: He is described as a handsome young man when he intervenes against Fierce Yama 11.

Personality

Yun Tian is pleasure-seeking and openly flirtatious. He pursues women who interested him in the original stories and privately celebrates changing relationships that would otherwise involve Nangong Wentian or Nie Li. He also favors a comfortable routine of lounging, cooking, traveling, and gaming over sustained effort 4 16 21 36 41.

He frequently hides his overwhelming strength behind claims of being an “ordinary passerby” or an “ordinary person.” His humor includes references to other shows, deliberate teasing, and internet-style insults; he repeatedly provokes the Heaven-Earth Alliance Leader for amusement 11 12 23 24 43.

His affection is accompanied by concrete care: he provides protective treasures, prepares meals, rescues companions, and gives vulnerable people a home. Threats against those close to him can turn his playful demeanor into deliberate brutality, as shown by his treatment of Shen Yue 5 7 17 19 39 41.

Despite his confidence, he knows that overwhelming power does not make him a knowledgeable teacher. He admits that he lacks expertise in Demon Spirit Master cultivation and recruits Yu Yan rather than attempting to instruct Li Yue himself 41 43.

• His invincibility does not prevent video-game losses: he is overwhelmed while playing with Ling’er and Bailing, and an interruption later costs him a prospective Honor of Kings pentakill 18 21.
