Shut the Door and Beat the Dogs

"Waaah... A-Yun, you finally came." Lin Lin's little face was covered in tear tracks. "Don't worry. Everything's all right now."

Mightyena stood up and looked at the Chimchar that had just ambushed him. Humiliation flashed in his eyes.

As the leader of his pack, he had actually been ambushed by this scrawny monkey?! Seeing him get up, Chimchar spread his legs wide, tilted his head toward the sky, planted his feet on the ground, and swaggeringly raised a middle finger, rivaling Pachirisu's earlier display.

Heh. You're nothing, you little punk!

"Awrooo!" Mightyena used Howl, raising his Attack while calling the other Poochyena over to surround Chimchar. Dark-type energy surged around every Poochyena's teeth.

Mightyena stared fixedly at Chimchar. Think you're so tough, kid? Come on, boys, grab your weapons!

"Hey, hey, that's not fair! Why are you ganging up on him?!" Bai Yun realized things were going badly. Chimchar had only gained one level over the past two weeks, reaching level 10. He could handle one or two weaker Poochyena, but the other side had called in reinforcements-and even had an evolved Mightyena. How was he supposed to fight that? With his head?!

Yet Chimchar showed no panic whatsoever inside the encirclement. His eyes brimmed with disdain, and he even extended a hand and crooked a finger at Mightyena.

I'll take on ten!

Bai Yun was dumbfounded. Bro, you don't have heaven-shaking powers. What are you going to fight them with? Just then, Pachirisu suddenly leaped over and stood beside Chimchar. Pulling a chestnut from his big white tail, he began eating it without a care in the world.

The two little Pokémon's attitude enraged the Poochyena, who immediately lunged at them with Bite.

Pachirisu used Follow Me to draw every attack toward himself, then used Protect to avoid damage while curling up with Defense Curl.

"Ya-ka!" Chimchar pounded his chest with both hands. After Work Up raised his Attack, Fighting-type energy churned around him. Bolstered by Ripple (Bulk Up + Focus Energy), he began swinging Fire Punches.

One drew aggro while the other dealt damage. The Poochyena soon took a fair amount of punishment. Seeing this, Mightyena roared furiously and lunged in with Thunder Fang.

"Ya-ka!" Chimchar turned and drove a fist into his opponent's mouth. Blood trickled from his fist, but Thunder Fang had failed to land fully, so its additional paralysis effect did not trigger. Even so, Mightyena's Thunder Fang was no joke.

Poochyena evolved into Mightyena at level 18, automatically learning the three fang moves-Fire Fang, Thunder Fang, and Ice Fang-upon evolution. Chimchar was only level 10, after all. That level advantage was terrifying.

Seeing Chimchar get hurt, Bai Yun hurriedly ordered, "Blast it open with Fire Punch!" Flames ignited around Chimchar's fist. Mightyena cried out in pain and had no choice but to spit the fist out.

"Woo!" Just then, a Poochyena suddenly lunged in with Bite. "Ya-ka!" Chimchar cried out in pain, then punched his attacker away.

Seeing his chance, Mightyena gathered Dark-type energy and struck Chimchar with Assurance. Chimchar flew backward, taking heavy damage. "Chimchar!" Bai Yun cried.

Assurance was a Dark-type move whose power doubled if the target had already taken damage during the same turn. This blow truly left Chimchar badly injured.

A cruel gleam flashed in the Mightyena leader's eyes. Just as he was about to continue attacking, Pachirisu unleashed a Thunder Shock, striking the unprepared Mightyena.

Mightyena immediately switched his target to Pachirisu. "Pachi..." Pachirisu was in poor shape. Although he had used Protect earlier, the seven Poochyena's group assault had still left him covered in wounds.

Mightyena used Quick Attack, intending to finish off the little creature before him, when an enormous force suddenly struck his waist, cutting his airborne charge short.

Mightyena cried out in pain and fell to the ground. "Well done, Sylveon!" It turned out that Sylveon had used Double-Edge at the critical moment to stop Mightyena.

"Press the advantage! Use Double Kick!"

"Vee!" Sylveon leaped up, striking Mightyena's head hard with his front and hind feet in succession. The Fighting-type move was super effective against the Dark-type Pokémon, dealing tremendous damage.

"Froakie, use Double Team, then Cut!" Cheng Tian also ran over with Froakie and Aron. Froakie swiftly created four shadow copies in front of him, each forming two water spikes and attacking the remaining Poochyena.

Cheng Tian tossed Bai Yun a Potion. "Go treat Chimchar first." After catching the Potion, Bai Yun hurried over to tend to Chimchar's injuries.

"Awrooo..." Seeing the situation turn against him, the Mightyena leader quickly called out, trying to get his pack to scatter and flee. Just as they were about to run, Cheng Tian let out a cold laugh.

"Run? Where do you think you're going? Aron, Rock Tomb!"

"Aron!" Aron stamped both feet on the ground. Ring after ring of rocks fell, sealing off their surroundings and leaving the Poochyena nowhere to go. The trainers laughed in unison.

Now it was time to shut the door and beat the dogs!

"Whine..." Mightyena and the Poochyena had no choice but to huddle together, baring their teeth at the trainers drawing closer. Mightyena's eyes were full of rage.

You're bullying us with numbers! Have you no warrior's honor?!

"Ya-ka!" With his injuries treated, Chimchar leaped over, his eyes full of disdain. Flames burned around both fists as he stared fixedly at Mightyena.

Electricity covered Pachirisu's body; Charge was ready. Froakie formed a Water Pulse in his hands, while Fairy-type energy continued rising around Sylveon, pink Swift stars spinning around his body.

Aron, however, looked a little bewildered and had not caught on. "Froak, froak." Froakie promptly reminded him. Only then did Aron snap out of it, metallic energy rippling around his claws as he readied Metal Claw.

Chimchar slowly raised his chin, looking down his nose at the huddled Poochyena.

Think you're the only one who can call for backup? Boys, grab your weapons and follow me! Beat the hell out of him!

"Ya-ka!" Chimchar charged first, shifting into JoJo's Bizarre Adventure mode and raining Fire Punches onto his opponent as though they cost nothing. Mightyena raised his claws, just about to counter with Fury Swipes, when Aron's Metal Claw locked against them.

"Awrooo!" Two Poochyena came over to help their leader, but their Bite attacks could not even break through Aron's defenses.

"Pachi!" Pachirisu's lightning struck a Poochyena, instantly scorching its fur black. Sylveon delivered another two kicks to its head, knocking it out outright. At the same time, the Swift stars surrounding him flew toward the two Poochyena beside Aron, driving them back.

After Froakie finished off one Poochyena with Water Pulse, three more lunged at him, baring their teeth and claws.

"Defend with Whirlpool!" Cheng Tian immediately ordered. A whirlpool rose around Froakie in an instant, enclosing him in its center. The Poochyena's attacks could not reach him at all.

"Holy crap, A-Tian, you can use Whirlpool like that?!" Bai Yun was utterly astonished.

"Froak!" Froakie burst out through the top of the vortex, simultaneously controlling the Whirlpool to engulf a Poochyena and deal continuous damage.

"Awrooo!" Seeing the Poochyena fall one after another, Mightyena's eyes shone with ferocity.

To hell with it! Today, either the fish dies or the net breaks! He immediately attacked Aron with everything he had, combining Assurance with Fire Fang. He refused to believe Aron could withstand that!

"Match him in strength! Aron, use Dragon Rush!"

"Aron!" Without the slightest fear, Aron drew on the Dragon-type energy within his body and wrapped himself in it. A small dragon silhouette appeared around him.

"Dragon Rush?!" Now it was Su Han's turn to be astonished. Although Aron could indeed inherit that move, very few actually did.

Like a miniature tank, Aron slammed toward Mightyena. The charging Mightyena had never expected such a ferocious attack and was sent flying backward.

"Aron!" Pressing his advantage, Aron leaped high into the air and used Body Slam, crashing down onto Mightyena.

Mightyena's eyes rolled back, his tongue lolled out, and drool spilled across the ground. That single slam knocked him unconscious.

What a joke. With the Heavy Metal Ability, Aron weighed twice as much as an ordinary Aron and was practically as immovable as Mount Tai. Having all that weight slam down on you was an exquisitely agonizing experience.

With that, the Poochyena terrorizing pedestrians on Jingxi Road were completely wiped out.
