  • Cheng Tian learned that ordinary Pokémon rarely surpassed level 80 because of their limited potential and age.
  • He Xisong arrived to discuss the Temple of the Sea's location and entrance with Old Han, and they played a recording believed to contain Manaphy's song.
  • Old Han showed Cheng Tian and He Xisong Captain Drake's logbook, which described the Temple of the Sea as an enormous structure above the ocean.
  • He Xisong and Old Han wondered why centuries of searching had uncovered no trace of the temple.
  • Cheng Tian suggested that Manaphy might have concealed the Temple of the Sea in another dimension.

Ch. 489The Key to the Problem

Cheng Tian and the others theorized that singing could open the hidden space containing the Temple of the Sea, then settled into life aboard the submarine. At the end, Cheng Tian and Rotom spotted a huge submerged pirate ship pursuing them.

  • Cheng Tian, He Xisong, and the others concluded that singing might serve as the medium for entering the Temple of the Sea, and planned to test their theory at their destination.

  • Cheng Tian and Cao Min forced open the captain’s cabin and searched it, finding a skeleton, a cutlass, and a compass.
  • Old Han’s Greninja spotted a Gimmighoul hiding in a treasure chest, and the Pokémon revealed itself after the Greninja’s Water Shuriken frightened it.

  • Old Han's Greninja saved Cheng Tian from two vines, and both Greninja froze and shattered the vines attacking them.
  • Cao Min found the ship’s anchors undisturbed, while Cheng Tian and the others freed Milotic from binding vines.
  • Cheng Tian realized the ship’s wheel was suspicious as tentacles burst from it and attacked him and Cao Min.

  • Milotic supported both Greninja with Aqua Ring while they dodged Dhelmise’s blows and struck back with Ice Punch.

  • The crew repaired the Wailord after capturing Dhelmise, and Old Han and He Xisong praised Cao Min for acquiring a powerful Pokémon.

Ch. 495Charge! Walls of Bronze and Iron!

The crew reached the waters around the Temple of the Sea and found a vast Waterspout guarded by a horde of Gyarados. After unanimously voting to risk a dangerous assault, they began a plan to draw away the Gyarados and shield Wailord as it charged through.

  • Old Han and He Xisong revealed the Waterspout and the Gyarados guarding the Temple of the Sea, including a level 45 Gyarados near Wailord.
  • Cao Min identified the Gyarados Horde and Waterspout as the two obstacles, and Cheng Tian proposed provoking the Gyarados while Wailord broke through under Protect.
  • A crew member proposed using nearly five thousand Thunder Stones to power an External Discharge Current around Wailord, and everyone aboard voted to attempt the dangerous plan.
  • Long Weixi rode Mega Gyarados into the horde, attacked with Hyper Beam, dodged their counterattacks, and drew roughly half the Gyarados away in pursuit.
  • Old Han ordered the crew to begin discharging electricity as Wailord prepared to charge at the remaining Gyarados and the Waterspout.

Ch. 496An unexpected encounter! Shiny Gyarados!

Wailord and the submarine fought through a swarm of Gyarados, only to be attacked by a level 79 Shiny Red Gyarados guarding the waterspout. Cheng Tian helped aim the submarine’s fully charged Zap Cannon at the Apex Pokémon, grievously wounding it as Wailord began entering the waterspout.

  • Wailord protected the submarine from the Gyarados with an electric field, Protect, Toxic, and Aqua Ring.
  • A level 79 Shiny Red Gyarados appeared and cracked Wailord’s Protect barrier with Crunch and Power Whip.
  • He Xisong called for the crew to assist Wailord, and Cheng Tian volunteered to aim the submarine’s Zap Cannon.
  • Cheng Tian, Greninja, and Milotic turned the rising Zap Cannon toward Red Gyarados while Wailord struggled to hold its barrier.
  • The crew fired the fully charged Zap Cannon, grievously damaging Red Gyarados as Wailord’s bow entered the waterspout.

Ch. 497A Moment of Life and Death (Part One)

Cheng Tian, Milotic, and two Greninja struggled to survive as the Red Gyarados attacked them inside a raging waterspout. Greninja struck back to protect Cheng Tian, but the waterspout still threatened the submarine, and a small figure awakened at the battle’s climax.

  • The Red Gyarados broke through the Protect barrier and attacked Cheng Tian, but Milotic carried him clear while Greninja distracted the Pokémon.
  • Old Han sent out his Greninja, which fought alongside Cheng Tian’s Greninja as Milotic used Life Dew to keep them going.
  • The Red Gyarados broke the barrier with Hyper Beam, exposing Cheng Tian and the Pokémon to the waterspout and leaving the submarine in danger.
  • Milotic shielded Cheng Tian while Wailord pressed on through the waterspout, and the crew below lost sight of the battle as the external cameras were destroyed.
  • The Red Gyarados lunged at Cheng Tian and Milotic, but Greninja used Whirlpool and enlarged Water Shuriken to stab its side, awakening a small figure.

Ch. 498A Moment of Life and Death (Part Two)

  • Milotic strengthened its Protect with a surge of Water energy, and a terrifying black whale phantom appeared behind it, frightening the Red Gyarados and Old Han's Greninja.
  • An ethereal voice calmed the Red Gyarados, which resumed attacking Cheng Tian and the others while Greninja fought to hold it back.
  • A sorrowful song made Cheng Tian, Greninja, and Milotic fall asleep despite their attempts to stay awake through pain.
  • The Red Gyarados used Protect to rush past Old Han's Greninja, swept Cheng Tian and the others away in a current, and vanished into a waterspout.
  • Long Weixi escaped the Gyarados pursuing her, defeated several with Tropius's Leaf Storm, and planned her return to China while hoping Cheng Tian and the others succeeded.

Ch. 499It Appeared! The Temple of the Sea!

The expedition survived the Waterspout but found no Temple of the Sea, and Cheng Tian vanished along with his companions. Cheng Tian awoke injured inside the Temple of the Sea with Greninja and Milotic, while the crew searched the surrounding area for clues.

  • Su Han worried that Cheng Tian had not called for a week, and Cheng Tian's mother reassured her that he was in closed training.
  • The damaged Wailord reached the calm center of the Waterspout, where He Xisong and Old Han found no sign of the Temple of the Sea and learned that Cheng Tian and the others were missing.
  • He Xisong proposed surveying the area, while the crew weighed the damage to the submarine against their dwindling Thunder Stones and the need to return.
  • Cheng Tian woke in a vast sapphire-blue hall with Greninja and Milotic, and recognized the place as the Temple of the Sea.
  • Milotic began healing Cheng Tian with Aqua Ring as he prepared to explore, though his diving suit had been destroyed and he was left naked.

  • Greninja detected Manaphy nearby and threw five Water Shuriken toward it, startling the hidden Pokémon into view.
  • Cheng Tian recognized the tiny Pokémon before him as Manaphy, the Prince of the Sea.
