Lin Guang, Mio Takamiya, and Tohka Yatogami returned to Tengu City twelve years after leaving, where armed forces mistook them for Spirits and attacked. Lin Guang and Tohka reached the Fatebreaker, reunited with Kyohei Kannazuki, and heard about the changes that had occurred; the chapter ended with Lin Guang asking where he could buy roasted soybean flour bread.

• Lin Guang discovered that twelve years had passed and that he could not locate Shido Itsuka.
• Three armed robots confronted Lin Guang, Mio Takamiya, and Tohka Yatogami, and Mio vanished to search for Shido.

Lin Guang returned to Tengu City with Tohka Yatogami and learned how Shido Itsuka had struggled to protect the Spirits after Lin Guang left. Mio Takamiya arrived in tears, then took Lin Guang into the Boundary and challenged him to fight.

• Lin Guang bought Tohka Yatogami soybean flour bread and visited the place where he had sealed her.
• Lin Guang recalled how the Anti-Spirit Organization exposed the Spirits, Shido Itsuka fought to protect them, and Shido eventually took over Lin Guang's organization and had children with Miku Izayoi, Kaguya Yamai, and Yuzuru Yamai.

• Mio Takamiya unleashed repeated attacks on Lin Guang, then asked why he was not angry when she calmed down.
• Lin Guang reminded Mio Takamiya that she had one challenge left, and she kissed him to begin their third battle.

Lin Guang confronted Shido Itsuka after discovering he had absorbed the Spirits’ powers, and learned that Shido had taken Mio Takamiya’s power after she rejected him. Shido revealed his plan to seize Lin Guang’s power and control every Spirit in the Boundary, but Lin Guang told him he would never succeed.

• Lin Guang asked Shido how Kotori was, and Shido said Kotori and the other Spirits had become ordinary people after he absorbed their Spirit Crystals.
• Shido blamed the Endlave robots Lin Guang had left behind for a rebellion that nearly killed Yuzuru.
• Shido explained that Mio had grown distant from him, rejected him after he confessed what had happened, and fled after he tried to take her power.
• Shido said he intended to obtain Lin Guang’s power and eventually control every Spirit in the Boundary so he could force humans and Spirits to coexist.
• Lin Guang told Shido that he would never be able to accomplish his plan.

Lin Guang confronted Shido Itsuka, who tried to capture him to steal his power and reach the Boundary, but Lin Guang destroyed the Secret Base and escaped unharmed. Mio Takamiya chose to leave with Lin Guang and Tohka Yatogami for the Origin World, leaving Shido behind.

• Shido Itsuka teleported Lin Guang into a sealed glass room and revealed his plan to take Lin Guang's power and find the Boundary.
• Lin Guang unleashed a storm and lightning that destroyed the mountain and the Secret Base, while Shido Itsuka survived through his healing flames.
• Tohka Yatogami and Mio Takamiya arrived, and Lin Guang asked Mio Takamiya whether she wanted to stay or leave.
• Mio Takamiya decided never to return and linked her arm through Lin Guang's as he chose to return to the Origin World.

• Lin Guang learned the goblin tribe lived between Farmus and Eurazania, then named Gerudo and all the other goblins.

Lin Guang tried to enter the Heavenly Wings Country, then sneaked into Queen Frey’s palace to learn about the world and the Demon Lords. Frey discovered him and, after questioning his ambitions, told him there were ten Demon Lords, including herself.

• Heavenly Wings Country’s soldiers barred Lin Guang from entering because he had no wings, so he withdrew and planned to sneak in after nightfall.
• Lin Guang used the Snake Talisman’s power to enter Queen Frey’s palace unseen, but Frey detected him and attacked with Wind Blades that vanished.
• Lin Guang introduced himself as an Otherworlder and explained that he had come to learn about the world, while Frey questioned how he had concealed his presence.
• Frey pressured Lin Guang with her Demon Lord aura, and his calm response led her to suspect he wanted to become a Demon Lord.
• Lin Guang asked how someone became a Demon Lord and who they were, and Frey declined to name them but said there were ten, including herself.

Lin Guang reached the Great Jura Forest before Rimuru’s arrival and began planning to unite its monster tribes, starting with the Ogres. A Dryad appeared where he had just been, wondering who he was.

Lin Guang arrived at the Ogre settlement and hired Shion to guide him through the Great Jura Forest toward the Beast Kingdom. After they left, the Ogre Chief grew suspicious of Lin Guang’s power and sent someone to secretly protect Shion.

• Lin Guang reached the Ogre settlement, where he knocked aside an Ogre who attacked him with an axe.
• Lin Guang offered the Ogre Chief 110 gold coins to hire a guide and chose Shion for the escort mission.
• Shion accepted the job, received a 50-coin deposit, and left with Lin Guang toward the Beast Kingdom.

• Souei told Lin Guang that the Ogre chief welcomed his friendship and told Shion she could return to the village whenever she wished.
• Shion returned to the Great Jura Forest with Souei, while Lin Guang continued toward Eurazania.
• Lin Guang surveyed the border village and found that most residents were demi-humans, especially Minotaurs, with no beastmen in sight.
• Lin Guang ordered ale and snacks from the Minotaur tavern proprietor, who guessed that Lin Guang was a foreign noble.

Lin Guang learned about the Beast Kingdom’s divisions and arrived in Raurah, where he followed a group of demi-human children who stole food to support their sick older sister, Aervi. After seeing Aervi cough up blood, Lin Guang believed he had found a way to achieve his goal in the kingdom.

• Lin Guang spent half a month observing Aervi and the seven Demi-Human children she had taken in, while learning about her past.
• Lin Guang visited Aervi's home after the children left for Raurah, and Aervi greeted him with a knife hidden behind her back.
