A powerful king discovered the Black Rings and attacked the Digi-Destined Emperor’s lair while Kari’s group searched a messy pyramid for a Mega Digimon. The Digi-Destined Emperor escaped to the Human World, but when Oura and the others returned to Digimon World the next day, they were caught red-handed.

• The king tested the Black Rings, resisted their control, and hurled a Dark Tower toward the Digi-Destined Emperor’s lair before riding after it.
• Kari, Miyako, Oura, and Iori entered a pyramid and found scraps and calligraphy bearing lyrics associated with Doctor Xu.
• Iori explained that Doctor Xu used music to treat drug addiction, while Miyako praised his many talents and looks.
• The Digi-Destined Emperor hid from the king’s assault, then escaped to the Human World with Tentomon’s help.
• After spending a day in the Human World, the Digi-Destined Emperor returned to Digimon World, and the next day Oura and the others were caught red-handed.

Kari and Miyako persuaded Etemon to let them hear his music, then helped him recognize why his performance was bad. MetalEtemon asked to travel to the Human World to meet Doctor Xu and seek revenge over his favorite song being banned, offering T.K. Takaishi’s cloned body as payment.

• Kari approached Etemon and asked for his help, reminding him that the old world’s conflicts no longer needed to define them.
• Miyako encouraged Etemon to perform, but after hearing his song, she told him his singing and stage setup were poor.
• MetalEtemon seized Miyako and threatened the Gazimon, but Miyako explained that he needed to improve his musicianship and consider how the instruments and performers worked together.

• T.K. and Kari searched for hidden realms and deliberately lured out the space that had drawn Kari’s attention.
• T.K. collided with Kari during one of her trances, and they vanished into a gloomy dimension without Gatomon or Patamon.
• T.K. and Kari explored a small village, then followed cries for help to a cave full of Kiwimon.
• A Kiwimon told Kari that a Black Spiral Ring had stolen their strength and will and forced them to serve another god.
• Kari took a Kiwimon’s hand and released light that helped the Kiwimon recover some strength.

T.K. and Kari encountered Kiwimon under attack by a Black Dark Ring-controlled Airdramon, and T.K. lured the enemy away to protect the others. Captured at the Digi-Destined Emperor’s underwater base, T.K. challenged the Emperor’s belief that their world was a game and explained its connection to the Human World.

• T.K. and Kari learned that the Kiwimon’s Black Spiral Rings had not been removed, then watched Airdramon defeat several Kiwimon with the power of his Black Dark Ring.
• T.K. drew Airdramon away from the beach, lost his left arm to its black flames, and climbed onto its back as it flew toward the sea.
• Airdramon carried T.K. to an underwater base, where the Digi-Destined Emperor trapped him with Red-Nosed Booger and questioned him about Takeru Takaishi and his changed appearance.
• T.K. told the Digi-Destined Emperor that their world was real and that the Chosen Children helped replenish its energy from the Human World.

• T.K. used a breach made by a drill to escape his cell, but a flood shattered the Black Dark Ring and knocked him unconscious.
• T.K. woke in the hospital and discovered that his destroyed arm had been restored; Hiroaki reassured Kari and Oura vowed to make the Digi-Destined Emperor pay.
• A week later, T.K. and Tai left the hospital, and T.K. refused to help Hiroaki use his younger appearance to pick up women.

• Oura joked about the original group’s first trip to the Digimon World, and T.K. and Kari hinted at the dangers they had faced.

• At Tokyo Tower, Sora and Mimi told Miyako about fighting Death Flamemon while protecting thousands of people.

• Miyako, Iori, and Oura joined Tai, Kari, and the others at the rebuilt TV station, where lightning knocked out the power and a mournful voice led them to Gatomon.
• Gatomon recognized the shadow as Wizardmon, who appeared in three dimensions and warned that Myotismon was alive and growing stronger.
• Wizardmon said, “Kindness can blossom into golden light,” then was dragged away despite Gatomon’s attempt to reach him.
• Hiroaki Ishida told the group that a reporter had died inside the station while trying to retrieve his work after the battle three years earlier.
• T.K. explained that a prophecy tablet had foretold events including Diaboromon’s attack, Ken becoming the Digi-Destined Emperor, and T.K.’s death, then left in distress.
• Oura asked whether Zheng Fan had appeared in the prophecy, easing the group’s tension.

The Chosen Children prepared to infiltrate the Digi-Destined Emperor’s base beside the Abyssal Sea, while T.K. rushed ahead to confront Ken Ichijouji. Ken revealed that he had entered the Dark Ocean and gained its power, and a violent tremor shook the base as T.K. faced him.

• The Chosen Children traced the Digi-Destined Emperor’s base to the Abyssal Sea and planned to capture it in one prolonged assault.
• Tai and Matt agreed to stay behind with Izzy, while the group set out on a camping-trip cover story with their father; Miyako and Kari later fell behind after Hawkmon was injured.
• T.K. charged toward the base with Pegasusmon, while Iori and Whamon went to find a television and open a passage for the others.

T.K. and the Chosen Children fought the Digi-Destined Emperor and his powerful creation, Chimeramon, but were overwhelmed inside the emperor’s base. As T.K. and Patamon gathered everyone’s power for one last attempt, a thunderous voice spoke from above.

• The Digi-Destined Emperor revealed that he had created Chimeramon, who overpowered Nefertimon and Hawkmon before escaping with the emperor’s base.
• Izzy Izumi, Tai, and Matt studied Chimeramon’s assembled body parts while Oura and the others planned to attack the base.
• Agumon, Gabumon, and Tentomon ignited crude oil around the base, allowing the Chosen Children to rush inside and search for its energy center.
• Chimeramon appeared and defeated the Digimon in the cramped base, leaving Flamedramon reverted to Gumdramon and the others unable to fight.
• The Digi-Destined Emperor revealed his Digivice and declared himself destined to rule, while T.K. and Patamon asked everyone to lend them their power.

Marcus Damon arrived during the battle with Kimeramon and tried to understand the conflict, but Oura’s Armor Digi-Egg awakened Magnamon and drew Kimeramon into a fight. Kimeramon revealed his grudge against the Royal Knights before preparing to self-destruct, and Marcus led the others through a space passage to escape.

• Marcus Damon struck Kimeramon, introduced himself and his organizations, and tried to get both sides to explain their dispute, but the Digi-Destined Emperor attempted to flee and was captured.
• The Black Stone transformed into a golden Armor Digi-Egg, and Oura used it to Armor Digivolve Veemon into Magnamon.
• Kimeramon attacked Magnamon and revealed that he had built his body to take revenge for the Battle of Infinite Mountain and the Royal Knights.

The group traveled from Korea into the Digimon World, where they learned a village had survived a recent typhoon and discussed the disasters caused when powerful beings crossed into other worlds. They discovered Marcus Damon shared a history with Zheng Fan, whose reputation for saving worlds deepened Marcus’s admiration.

• Oura gave Ken Ichijouji a mysterious Crest, and T.K. Takaishi and Kari discovered they could change their Armor Digi-Eggs back into Crests.
• In Korea, Marcus Damon defeated a Digimon with his fists, explaining that his digisoul returned it to a Digi-Egg, and the group later used a computer to reach the Digimon World.
• The group found a village protected from a recent typhoon by an Ultimate Digimon, then learned Oura's older sister was looking for Oura at the campsite.
• Marcus Damon and the others discovered they all knew Zheng Fan and exchanged stories about his travels and world-saving deeds.
• Marcus Damon recalled defeating Titans in another world and being driven out after that world's people blamed him for damage caused during the battle.

Oura tried to bring Ken Ichijouji home, but Ken’s middle-aged brother attacked him and unleashed Mewtwo, triggering a battle against Veemon. With Calumon’s help, Veemon evolved into Magnamon, but Mewtwo defeated it before Zheng Fan stopped the fight and recalled it.

• Oura escorted Ken Ichijouji home, but Ken refused to go inside until his middle-aged brother rushed out and knocked Oura down while freeing him.
• Veemon fought the man’s Mewtwo, but Mewtwo overpowered Flamedramon and Raidramon with its psychic abilities.
• Veemon evolved into Veemon EX, but Mewtwo defeated it again, and Veemon asked Oura to keep helping it evolve.
• Calumon sent light into Veemon EX, allowing it to evolve into Magnamon, which broke through Mewtwo’s barrier and grabbed it.
• Mewtwo escaped Magnamon’s grasp and knocked it unconscious, while Ken’s brother shoved Oura out of danger.
• Zheng Fan ended the confrontation, recalled Mewtwo into its Poké Ball, and Calumon helped Magnamon revert to Gumdramon.

Oura explained Ken Ichijouji's crimes in the Digimon World, and Satoshi Ichijouji reunited with his brother before Zheng Fan restored Satoshi to his younger form. Zheng Fan then caught up with the older Chosen Children, offering help and instruction while finding himself unable to answer several of their questions.

• Oura told Zheng Fan that Ken had used dark energy, Black Dark Rings, and Dark Towers to control Digimon and alter the Digimon World before Oura and his friends defeated him.
• Satoshi Ichijouji wept and apologized to Ken, then Zheng Fan shrank Satoshi into the appearance of an eleven- or twelve-year-old boy.
• Oura asked Zheng Fan to wake Veemon, and Calumon woke him before Oura realized Zheng Fan knew Tai and the other older Chosen Children.
• Marcus Damon and Tai greeted Zheng Fan, and Zheng Fan praised Sora Takenouchi's progress before learning that T.K. Takaishi had died and returned to life.

Oura struggled to accept that his brick-hauling efforts were ineffective, while Zheng Fan and the others continued advancing against the Dark Towers. When Oura’s team encountered a Knightmon blocking their route, they restrained him and relied on Oura to bring down the nearby Dark Tower.

• Marcus Damon left after he and Oura disagreed over how to help rebuild the Digimon World.
• After attacks on Miyako and Iori, Tai learned that Oura had arranged them to provoke their Digimon’s evolution, while T.K. Takaishi and Kari were using reconstruction work to draw out Myotismon.
• Zheng Fan told Tai that he had approved the plan and promised to keep the children safe, and Tai asked Kari to apologize to Oura and the others afterward.
• Oura realized that his brick-hauling had contributed little, while Marcus Damon had been pushing the front forward and Zheng Fan and Marcus Damon had rejected a direct attack through the Great Vortex.
• Oura’s team encountered a Knightmon blocking their route, and T.K. Takaishi and Iori judged that Knightmon was carrying out a mission rather than acting as their enemy.

Oura and Veemon freed Eagle-Eye Beast from a Black Dark Ring and entered the Dark Tower area, where Arukenimon trapped them and revealed she controlled the Digi-Destined Emperor. Two days later, a Chosen Child named Zeng Xiao Xian rescued Oura and Veemon and flew away with his partner, Flymon.

• Oura and Veemon defeated Eagle-Eye Beast’s Black Dark Ring, and Eagle-Eye Beast warned them that an Ultimate-level spider Digimon guarded the Dark Tower.
• Oura consulted Izzy Izumi for a plan, then followed Eagle-Eye Beast toward the tower with Veemon.
• Arukenimon caught Oura, Veemon, and Eagle-Eye Beast in a web, revealed that the Digi-Destined Emperor worked for her, and summoned Mammothmon.
• Arukenimon sealed Oura and Veemon in the web while she tried to recruit Eagle-Eye Beast.
• Two days later, Zeng Xiao Xian cut Oura and Veemon free, introduced Flymon as his partner, and flew away.

Izzy inferred that Zeng Xiao Xian was connected to Zheng Fan after studying the footage, while Arukenimon and Mummymon learned that a powerful Mega-level fighter had appeared and were ordered to destroy the Holy Stones. Ken declared that Zeng Xiao Xian would not lose his way, and Arukenimon and Mummymon prepared to meet him while worrying that they needed a Mega to protect them.

• Izzy paused the footage and concluded that Zheng Fan knew Zeng Xiao Xian, though Tai argued that Zheng Fan might simply have known about Oura and his rescuer.
• Arukenimon reported to Father that a powerful being had killed ten Mammothmon, and Father ordered her to keep searching for the Holy Stones and smash them while remembering the Seeds of Darkness.
• Ken discussed a passage about resolve with Tentomon and insisted that Zeng Xiao Xian would never lose his way.
• Arukenimon and Mummymon received Zeng Xiao Xian's one-word reply, "Location," and Arukenimon told Mummymon to send Titamon's villa's location.
• Arukenimon and Mummymon worried that Zeng Xiao Xian might bring help and considered whether they needed a Mega to face his strongest fighter.

Oura and his companions entered Titamon’s villa with Zeng Xiao Xian and discovered that Arukenimon had lured them there to confront him. Arukenimon exposed Zeng Xiao Xian as the former Digi-Destined Emperor, and he declared that he had come to learn who his enemy was and take revenge.

• Oura recognized Zeng Xiao Xian flying overhead, and Zeng Xiao Xian joined the group at the villa entrance.
• Iori showed Zeng Xiao Xian an email directing them to the villa, and Zeng Xiao Xian admitted he knew the invitation was a trap but had to go inside.
• Oura, Zeng Xiao Xian, and Iori entered the villa, survived attacks by Roachmon, Dokugumon, and Leechmon, and escaped through the ventilation ducts.
• Oura heard a strange sound, and the group followed it to find Arukenimon playing a flute.
• Arukenimon revealed that Zeng Xiao Xian had been the Digi-Destined Emperor, and Zeng Xiao Xian apologized to Oura and Iori for hiding his past.
• Zeng Xiao Xian told Arukenimon that the Digi-Destined Emperor was dead and challenged her to face his revenge.

Arukenimon used her flute to control Stingmon and Armadillomon, then pressured Zeng Xiao Xian into halting the fighting and exposing why Ken Ichijouji had become the Digi-Destined Emperor. When Stingmon wounded Zeng Xiao Xian, he and Oura acknowledged their bond, allowing Veemon EX and Stingmon to fusion digivolve into Paildramon.

• Arukenimon's flute made Stingmon and Armadillomon attack their allies, while Veemon EX held them back as Oura, Iori, and Zeng Xiao Xian were forced out of the passage.
• Arukenimon offered to stop the fighting if Zeng Xiao Xian persuaded the other children to stand down, and he agreed after Iori reminded him how the others had faced controlled Digimon before.
• Zeng Xiao Xian returned with T.K. Takaishi, Kari, and Miyako, but Arukenimon announced she would reveal why Ken Ichijouji had been chosen as the Digi-Destined Emperor.

• Miyako examined Zeng Xiao Xian’s Digital Pet, and Oura realized its sound might disrupt Arukenimon’s flute; Zeng Xiao Xian noted that the controlled Digimon were insect types.

• Mummymon captured T.K. Takaishi and the others, and Zeng Xiao Xian offered himself as a hostage so they could be released.
• Arukenimon and Mummymon completed the exchange and left, believing their schemes had already sowed distrust among the Digi-Destined.
• Izzy Izumi told Zheng Fan that Holy Stones might have been created to guard or suppress the new Digimon World, whose population had declined after reaching its peak.

• BlackWarGreymon effortlessly destroyed Mammothmon sent by Mummymon and Arukenimon, then grew furious when they suggested he follow their orders.
• BlackWarGreymon protected a flower from a Mammothmon before unleashing Black Gaia Force, which erased the flower and the surrounding wilderness.
• Agumon welcomed BlackWarGreymon, shared a roasted marshmallow with him, and explained that Digimon had Digicores.
• BlackWarGreymon asked Agumon about his emptiness, and Agumon recalled how Ogremon had felt lost after Leomon died and later joined the fight against the Dark Masters.

Miyako’s Kyoto shopping trip turned dangerous when Nakaue Takeshi and Brother Xi drugged her and tried to abduct her, but BlackWarGreymon heard her call and rescued her. Zheng Fan arrived after the Digimon World’s upheaval and took BlackWarGreymon into Anomalous Space to investigate, leaving him impressed and unsettled by Zheng Fan’s abilities.

• Arukenimon used thirty Dark Towers to create MegaSeadramon, Snakemon, and Wave Messenger, then shattered the Holy Stone and triggered a tremendous upheaval.
• BlackWarGreymon sensed the distant disturbance and flew off, while Miyako joined her classmates on a Kyoto shopping trip and encountered Nakaue Takeshi and Brother Xi.
• Nakaue Takeshi and Brother Xi drugged Miyako and planned to exploit her, but she escaped through a third-floor window and called for BlackWarGreymon.
• BlackWarGreymon found Miyako inside a strange space, broke through it, and rescued her from the car carrying her away.

Zheng Fan and BlackWarGreymon found Azulongmon, who revealed that BlackWarGreymon’s existence threatened the Digimon World and explained how another destructive Digimon had chosen a different path. Zheng Fan uncovered Azulongmon’s role in weakening the world to avoid dissolving into the Dao, while Azulongmon asked him to protect the Holy Stones to prevent a catastrophe.

• Zheng Fan and BlackWarGreymon followed the Night Dawn Sword’s light through the distorted space and found Azulongmon.
• Azulongmon said BlackWarGreymon had been formed from a hundred Dark Towers and that his actions were destroying the Digimon World.
• Zheng Fan told them how Ruin Dramon had escaped his destructive fate, controlled his power, and fought among the Royal Knights as Gallantmon.
• Azulongmon began undergoing a tribulation, and Zheng Fan accused him of deliberately losing to Piedmon and weakening the Digimon World to delay dissolving into the Dao.

The Chosen Children and their Digimon fought Digimon unleashed in the Human World by Dark Towers, destroying one tower and defeating its attackers. After learning Dark Towers had appeared worldwide, Matt confronted Zheng Fan, whose admission that he had misjudged the danger left the group facing the consequences of their plan to bring Digimon openly into the Human World.

• When Dark Tyrannomon attacked a Christmas Eve concert and the Digimon could not evolve, Tai and the others defeated it through teamwork, and Izzy sent it back to the Digimon World.
• The Chosen Children and their Digimon fought a swarm of Bakemon, using their attacks and Pegasusmon and Nefertimon to defeat and return them.
• Oura and the others joined the battle near a Dark Tower, and Tai and Sora reached it while Flamedramon and Hawkmon helped clear a path.
