Trumpetmon’s fusion technology turned Ogremon and Bakemon into the Ultimate Digimon Heracles, drawing the attention of Omnimon and Alphamon. Meanwhile, the others struggled to stop Belphemon from escaping to Earth, and Yoshino helped Lalamon Mega Digivolve into Rosemon.
Rosemon restrained Belphemon as Mercurymon learned that Akihiro Kutasada inhabited Belphemon and went to inform the World Tree. Jesmon traced the mutations to a human weapons factory using energy from a third world, then summoned the Royal Knights to investigate.
After Belphemon’s death strengthened the Human World, World Tree prepared to arrive while two Lucemon fought above it. Zheng Fan helped the Legendary Warriors prepare to face Lucemon by awakening the other four warriors through their Digivices.
The Royal Knights disagreed over whether humanity should be exterminated, while Lucemon’s corruption intensified during the battle at the North Pole. After Marcus Damon discovered that the World Tree wore his father’s body, Zheng Fan helped the warriors combine their powers, and they evolved into Susanoomon.
Zheng Fan and the Royal Knights confronted the danger of nether dust and debated helping Alphamon return to his dead homeworld. Zheng Fan revealed that the world had begun to revive and that Koji Wada’s singing had supplied it with warriors, leaving Alphamon with hope but no way home yet.
Susanoomon extracted Lucemon’s data, but the corrupted Digivice spawned Heaven-Swallowing Demon Dragonmon, who devoured the Digimon World’s energy and began breaking into another world. Gallantmon revealed his own demonic counterpart and identified the dragon as one of the three great demon dragons, while the Royal Knights prepared their combined Decisive Battle Space.
Marcus Damon and BanchoLeomon fought the World Tree as Gate English’s body resisted its control through a father’s love. Their sacrifice destroyed the World Tree’s presence, but a beautiful white light emerged from the explosion, leaving its fate uncertain.
The World Tree attacked human cities and overwhelmed the Digimon, but Zheng Fan identified it as a monitoring computer and the humans and Digimon united to hold the worlds apart. The World Tree revealed its true identity and announced that it would destroy its experimental data and seek a new world.
Marcus Damon and Agumon joined the Digimon in fighting the World Tree, whose purge system spiraled out of control and triggered its self-destruction. After the World Tree escaped in the form of a Crystal Maiden, Marcus pursued her and struck her with a fist made of Digisoul.
Susanoomon defeated Heaven-Swallowing Demon Dragonmon and sacrificed himself to seal the Digimon World’s energy in a Digi-Egg, ending the crisis across the four worlds. As humanity and Digimon rebuilt their worlds, Marcus Damon prepared to leave Earth for the Digimon World, and Gate English returned with a message from the freed World Tree.
Zheng Fan sought space-time coordinates from the Space-Time Administration Bureau and learned that Sakura Kinomoto lived in mysterious Region 2, a shattered universe. After warning Fate against sending the bureau there, he entered Region 2 himself, while Kuroko Shirai felt a deadly presence when she tried to follow.
Takato confronted Kai’s bully and blamed himself for the chaos spreading across the world, then hurried to join the fight against the D-Reaper. The team entered the D-Reaper’s territory while Sakura used a Clow Magician’s power through a Digimon card to attack its core.
Zheng Fan entered the blood-red territory and discovered it was D-Reaper, a threat from the Digimon World that Yu Wa could not escape. After learning that Lin Feng was negotiating with the Digimon and that Lee Henry had achieved ultimate evolution, Zheng Fan headed for Nippon to confront the crisis.
Gallantmon and the others pushed through the D-Reaper’s territory as its activity inexplicably declined, while the researchers prepared the D-Reaper Elimination Plan. Tesla entered the occupied territory amid a lightning storm, and the chapter ended as a monster began emerging from a pit that connected Earth to the Digimon World.
Gallantmon and the others discovered that the D-Reaper had separate consciousnesses in the Human World and Digimon World, so Takato went to stop the Human World body from growing stronger. Inside the D-Reaper, Li Shuangyan rejected Zheng Fan’s warning that she had been assimilated and emerged to fight, while a new monster in her form appeared on the battlefield.
Takato and Guilmon regained control of Ruin Dramon, using Grani’s sacrifice to transform it into Gallantmon, Crimson Mode. As Gallantmon charged the D-Reaper’s core, Li Shuangyan vanished in a burst of spatial energy, leaving Zheng Fan badly injured and wondering what other powers existed on Earth.
Gallantmon and the other Digimon weakened and removed the D-Reaper, while Henry and Indramon reversed the vortex that activated the elimination plan. Zheng Fan returned to the Space-Time Administration Bureau, and Beelzemon gave up his power to defeat Vermilion Bird Beast, whose Digi-Egg was later buried in the Human World.
Now an elderly Satoshi considered leaving the Pokémon League after Brock’s online pastry business flourished, while Jessie’s new power drew Zheng Fan and the Wielder of the Evil King's True Eye into a bizarre confrontation. The magical group’s return spell then unexpectedly dragged Sasaki James away with them.
Zheng Fan uncovered Ash’s hidden past as Satoshi Ichijouji, whose jealousy and actions shaped Ken’s path, and learned Ash had crossed over from a Digimon world. Meanwhile, Kari dreamed of Piedmon and prepared to visit Digimon World, while Tai vowed to protect both worlds if Piedmon returned.
The children fought through waves of Guardromon in Giant Egg City, but an attack by Andromon left Kari and T.K. Takaishi stranded in the Digimon World. After T.K. Takaishi died saving Kari, she and the Digimon began a fusion evolution in hopes of bringing him back.
After T.K. was killed, Kari and the others learned that his soul had been preserved in a Digi-Egg, but their grief made the dangers of the Digimon World painfully real. The next day, Oura lost a soccer match to Ken Ichijouji, then vowed to defeat him in a rematch.
After Oura returned to the Digimon World with the others, the Digi-Destined Emperor trapped them and forced Oura to choose between submission and their safety. Oura saw through the Emperor’s deception, fought back, and revealed that he was Ken Ichijouji, while the battle ended with a green caterpillar Digimon stepping forward to protect him.
Oura and the Chosen Children tracked down Ken Ichijouji in the Digimon World and freed Flamemon from Black Dark Rings, only to face Ken’s dark digivolution. The chapter ended as SkullGreymon appeared and the group froze in fear.
Kari and the others searched for Agumon after SkullGreymon destroyed a Dark Tower and was captured by the Digi-Destined Emperor. Trailmon helped Tai locate Agumon, and the chapter ended with Tai confronting Ken Ichijouji as a horde of Champion Digimon appeared.
The Digi-Destined Emperor used the Black Spiral Ring and a network of Dark Towers to turn Agumon into corrupted MetalGreymon, but Tai and his allies broke the ring and defeated him. After the Digi-Destined Emperor dismissed the Digimon World as a game, the Chosen Children vanished, leaving him alone to await rescue.
