Sora Takenouchi’s power of Love helped Biyomon become Lost Garudamon, but Lost Satanmon seized control of their new body and Biyomon flew away after tearing herself free. Genai then explained that the children needed to recover the Gate and find the Crests and Key, leaving Zheng Fan eager to learn how to return to his world.

• T.K. Takaishi celebrated Patamon’s Digi-Egg while Sora Takenouchi discovered that her power represented Love, and Lost Satanmon used his remaining strength to attack her.
• Biyomon shielded Sora Takenouchi from Lost Satanmon’s black light, digivolved into Hellfire Birdramon, and then became Lost Garudamon after Sora affirmed that Love could embrace everything.
• Lost Satanmon took control of Lost Garudamon, but Biyomon tore open the body’s chest and escaped; she told Sora Takenouchi she could no longer fight alongside them and flew away, leaving Sora unconscious.

• Tai, Mimi, and SaberLeomon launched the ship, and the children named it the Lion after SaberLeomon.

• Whamon rose from the ocean and attacked, but Izzy spoke with it and learned that its stomach hurt because something was inside.
• Tai insisted on helping Whamon, gave it his Digivice to prove he could not digivolve, and entered its stomach with Agumon.

• Zheng Fan dodged Tuna Beast’s fatal attack and a coordinated Seadramon assault before escaping his pursuers behind a coral reef.
• Zheng Fan sensed weak dark energy near a towering water spout, then heard Tai’s cry for help and raced toward it.
• Kabuterimon rescued Tai and Agumon from Whamon’s spout as Zheng Fan attacked Whamon, mistaking it for a dark Digimon.

• T.K. rescued Poyomon and the box of seven Keys, and Zheng Fan examined the Keys before the children chose them.
• Drillmon explained that it had been controlled by Devimon, then burrowed underground when it could not shrink enough to travel back with the group.

• Zheng Fan identified the Pagumon's story about guarding the village as a lie, and Agumon and the others used their attacks to make the Pagumon reveal their objective.

• Zheng Fan awoke in Azulongmon’s residence and learned that Tanemon had reverted to an In-Training Digimon to heal him.
• Gallantmon Crimson Mode escorted Zheng Fan and Tanemon through Azulongmon’s domain, where Zheng Fan discovered that Xiao craved the metal chains around Azulongmon’s body.
• Tanemon became furious at Zheng Fan’s lack of awe and digivolved into Cherrymon.
• Cherrymon threatened Gallantmon Crimson Mode while under the influence of darkness, then recovered and identified Dark Gatomon as the cause.

• Cherrymon told Zheng Fan and Gallantmon Crimson Mode how SkullGreymon General's weapon slaughtered the summoned Digimon, became the Dream-Shattering Blade, and caused Cherrymon to evolve into Dark Gatomon.
• Cherrymon snapped out of his trance and refused to say more about Dark Gatomon as the group reached Azulongmon.
• Zheng Fan learned that Azulongmon and other powerful Digimon had sealed themselves to resist assimilation into their laws.
• Azulongmon explained that invaders from a ruined Digimon World combined laws to attack the guardians, killing Huanglongmon and Ancestor Angemon and leaving others suppressed or missing.

Zheng Fan learned that the Digimon World wanted its laws protected and its next generation raised, then discovered Cherrymon and Gallantmon Crimson Mode had been transformed by dark power. He realized Azulongmon had used him, and prepared to fight the mutated Digimon.

• Azulongmon explained that the Digimon World could no longer contact the Night Dawn Sword because of its prior agreement with the weapon, and urged Zheng Fan to leave before powerful Digimon found him.
• Zheng Fan told Cherrymon and Gallantmon Crimson Mode about the Digimon World's future, and warned Cherrymon that he could become a guardian of the laws but not their master.
• Cherrymon despaired at Zheng Fan and Gallantmon Crimson Mode's strength, and dark power spread from him over both Digimon.
• The dark power transformed Gallantmon Crimson Mode into Chaos Greymon and Cherrymon into Withered Christmas Tree, leaving each with a dark consciousness or incomplete will.

• Mimi Tachikawa made Izzy Izumi rest while Tai, Matt, and Mimi set out to rescue Sora Takenouchi and T.K. Takaishi, leaving Joe Kido outside to distract the enemy.
