If he wanted to save the Uchiha with Virtual Headsets, Danzo was a towering wall he had to get past.
Naruto believed that Danzo still intended to wipe out the Uchiha. The opportunity simply hadn't presented itself yet.
And in the original story, that opportunity had been Shisui revealing his Mangekyo Sharingan.
When Naruto arrived at the entrance to Root's base, a Root ninja spotted him. Knowing Naruto had come to see Danzo, he led him straight inside.
After entering Root's base, Naruto felt that the atmosphere was downright bizarre.
These Root ninjas were actually discussing how to win girls over in private.
There were even a few obviously female Root ninjas discussing how to keep those rotten men from winning them over...
The current atmosphere in Root reminded Naruto of scam rings from his previous life.
