• Six told Shinji Ikari that a boy had hit on Chang and admitted she was preparing another plan with the Ayanamis.
• Six brought Shinji to the dorms, where Trowa waited and explained that the QR Sigum had helped the Ayanamis recognize their identities.
• Trowa told Shinji that she loved him, and the other Ayanamis appeared and echoed her confession.
• Shinji spent the day with the Ayanamis, who eventually went down one by one as he relied on his divine body and Unit-01.

Asuka, Rei, and Maki prepared for the dangerous Moon Exploration Mission while Shinji spent time with them before their departure. As the EVA pilots launched from Tanegashima, Asuka and another girl had to have their stomachs emptied after eating ice cream.

• The six EVAs passed through Earth’s Absolute Field interface, and communications with them ceased.

• Ryoji Kaji and Kensuke Aida found a hidden chamber beneath a church in Cyprus and discovered a glowing Small Tablet.
• Ryoji Kaji suspected Kensuke Aida had traded Allegorica’s technical intelligence to the European Union.
• The Small Tablet melted into Ryoji Kaji’s hand and flooded his mind with SEELE’s memories, knowledge, and mission, overwriting his consciousness.

• Asuka woke inside Euro Unit-02, recalled seeing Shinji and Yui's family in Germany, and cried out that she did not want to die.
• Ritsuko explained that Asuka was physically dead but that SEELE had preserved her soul, and Asuka insisted she was Asuka Langley Soryu rather than a Shikinami.

• Misato Katsuragi and Ritsuko Akagi watched as the Spear of Longinus shattered the Longinus Interface and revealed the enormous moon.

• The collapse of Earth’s physical laws caused disasters worldwide, while geological upheaval isolated Tokyo-3 on the Mount Hakone caldera.
• The United Nations learned that a 1,200-kilometer lunar continent was heading for Tokyo-3 and would destroy humanity wherever it struck, prompting nations to send resources to the city.
