Ch. 22Void World

Linde was pulled into the Void World after activating a Timeline Disruptor in the Timeline Observation Room, and his existence was erased from the world he left behind. Gaster told him there was no known way back as Linde watched Frisk search for him.

  • Linde entered the Timeline Observation Room and activated a Timeline Disruptor while examining an old photograph.
  • A space-time rift opened beneath Linde and dragged him away.
  • Frisk searched through past timelines but found no trace of Linde, while Flowey and Sans noticed he had been erased.

  • Gaster told Linde that the Void World had no exit, and Linde watched Frisk searching for him.

Ch. 23Player

Linde learned that he could not return from the Space-Time Rift on his own, but Player appeared and restored his forgotten memories. Player changed Linde’s soul and initiated a reboot to send him and Gaster back to the Main Universe, leaving their consciousnesses caught between rows of data.

  • Linde asked Gaster whether he could travel back through the river of space-time, and Gaster explained that loading a save changed the world’s state without erasing the actual past.
  • After Linde despaired of ever escaping the void, Player emerged from a rift and awakened him.
  • Player restored Linde’s memories of creating his soul, erasing his memories, and sending him into the Main Universe.
  • Player used the power of nothingness to blend and scour Linde’s soul until it became translucent gray.
  • Player summoned an image of Mount Ebott and began a Point-Target Universe Reboot, causing Linde’s and Gaster’s consciousnesses to merge into gaps between the data.

Ch. 24Return

  • Linde fled Sans’s observation room, but the backlash from the power of time knocked him unconscious and destroyed his soul.
  • The player placed a gray soul from a previous timeline into Linde, restoring his consciousness and erasing his memories of the Void World.
  • Linde woke in the snow with a gray, translucent soul and a stronger keyboard, then met Frisk, who noticed his changed eyes and worried that he had fought the Dog Couple.
  • Linde took Frisk to Grillby’s, where Sans joined them and traded fries with her after she squeezed out too much ketchup.
  • Sans asked Frisk whether she had heard of a talking flower, while Flowey listened from the roof and Linde watched him.

Ch. 25The Little White Dog

Linde took Frisk to a hidden room in Snowdin Forest, where a little white dog named Toby revealed that he had met Linde in the past and warned him that the Game Bug Detector would try to kill and erase him. Frisk was left outside the room, where she sensed someone approaching.

  • Frisk sensed someone approaching while she waited outside the closed door.

Ch. 26Noelle and Dess

Linde and Frisk visited Grillby, whose story about Rudy’s daughters led them to southern Snowdin to meet Dess and Noelle. They realized Asgore was visiting Rudy and heard the king and Rudy approaching as they tried to leave.

  • At Grillby’s, Grillby explained that he had stopped talking after years of rarely speaking in Hotland, and the customers cheered when they heard him speak.

  • Linde called Toriel and told her he and the children were about to meet Asgore, and she reluctantly agreed to listen from the phone.
  • Toriel overheard Asgore ask the children to kill him and understood that he had carried his burden to give monsters hope.
  • After Asgore left, Linde asked Toriel what she thought, and she admitted she had been blaming him for her own regret and helplessness.
  • Toriel looked at a family photograph, thanked Linde, and said she knew what she needed to do next.
  • Linde advised Toriel and Asgore to have a proper talk, then Frisk tripped him while Noelle watched.

Ch. 29Memories

Linde used the power of nothingness to give Frisk the ability to save and load, but their struggle over their soul projections pulled them into her memories. He learned that Frisk was taken from her aunt’s family after a court case and later lived in an orphanage; the chapter ended with Linde comforting her and leaving the memory space.

  • Linde broke through Frisk’s soul barriers, allowing her to save and load wherever she wanted.

  • Undyne attacked Linde and Frisk, accusing them of using an illusion to control Asgore after he ordered monsters to treat humans kindly.
  • Linde froze Undyne to prevent her from melting as determination formed inside her, then called Flowey, Sans, and Gaster for help.
  • Flowey suggested loading a save, but Linde refused because it would not resolve Undyne's misunderstanding.
  • Gaster gave Linde a syringe containing a substance that could let monsters hold determination, and Linde injected it into Undyne.
  • Sans and Gaster sat beside a telescope in Waterfall and discussed how long they had known about Linde.

Ch. 32Determination Fish

  • Undyne broke free of her restraints and spoke about humanity’s strength and the hope Asgore represented to monsters.
  • Undyne tore off her eye patch and, powered by determination, transformed into a towering, radiant figure.
  • Undyne attacked Linde and Frisk with spears, giving them weapons to block with and keeping the fight fair.

  • Linde read Alphys's manga and worked out how to reproduce the magic in it, wondering why he could understand Gaster's magic but not the Bone Brothers'.
  • Frisk browsed Alphys's books, found The Magic Warrior and the Crest of Taint, and put it in her inventory without reading it.

  • Ye Yu woke in the Ruins and learned from the subsystem that the monsters had taken refuge in the Royal Capital, so it directed him toward the lower level.
  • Asgore locked Frisk and Linde behind iron bars, explaining that Ye Yu could absorb their souls and rewind time, and refused to let them fight him.
  • Linde battered the bars with his determination, but they did not bend.
  • Ye Yu hunted Decibat, whose soul-targeting sound attacks had no effect on him.
