Adam apologized to his friends and, with John’s help, led them to stop the Four Horsemen from starting the Doomsday War. After Adam’s power turned the battle against the Horsemen, Heaven and Hell’s leaders arrived, while John gathered fragments of fate from the defeated War.
John imprisoned Death in the Casket of Ancient Winters, stopping people from dying, while Gabriel and Beelzebub pressured Adam to restart the Doomsday War. Satan came to seize Adam, but John intervened as Satan’s hand closed around the group.
John rescued Adam and his friends from Satan, then used Aziraphale and Crowley’s Heaven-summoning formation to transport himself and Satan there. John disappeared as Satan’s arrival sparked a battle between Hell’s ruler and Heaven’s angels, and the Creator finally appeared.
John recognized God as the creator of the world and was sent with Satan to the Garden of Eden, where he rejected the role God had assigned him. After eating from the Tree of Life, John confronted God and declared his own identity as the fire dragon.
John fought God in the burning Garden of Eden, arguing that humanity had created God and that God’s control over fate was only a script. After reforging the Dusk Sword with the Four Horsemen’s power, John shattered God’s defenses, but he saw fate itself begin repairing the ruined Garden.
John finished the Doomsday crisis, checked on Adam, and returned Aziraphale’s sword while Crowley recovered John’s servant, Paluru, from Hell. He left Earth aboard the Silver Hand 2017 to study calamity and Fate near Alpha Centauri.
John smelted the Four Horsemen’s fragments into the power of calamity, purified the Dusk Sword, and sealed the power of Fate in the Casket of Ancient Winters. After spending half a month on Alpha Centauri, he restarted his spaceship and discovered that the Dragon Egg was about to hatch.
John saved the Dragon Egg from the mixed energies it absorbed during the Bifrost journey, and it hatched into a rapidly growing Starry Sky Dragon named Aurelion. After finding Fate and beginning the trip home, John encountered a wrecked fleet and a group of apparent rescuers who were stripping the ships for resources.
John met the Guardians of the Galaxy while investigating a distress signal and learned that Gamora was carrying a secret involving Thanos. He offered to help her, leaving the Guardians to consider what she had kept hidden.
Gamora sought a way to keep Thanos from learning her secret, and John used magic to take custody of it. After the Guardians left, John set course for Xandar to pursue the Power Stone.
John infiltrated the Nova Corps headquarters on Xandar, copied the Power Stone, and returned the original to its Orb. As people across Xandar began falling into an unexplained sleep, John suspected his own amplified power had triggered Eternal Sleep.
John used a Dreamcatcher and mirror to enter the world of Eternal Sleep through Rhomann Dey’s dream, following a strand of Pepper Potts’s hair to Stark Tower. He discovered that Tony Stark had died, while the sleep continued spreading through Xandar and overtook an investigation team.
Pepper Potts remembered how Neville Longbottom had entrusted her with the hope of bringing the Wizard King back, then attacked John when she mistook him for the ruler who caused eternal sleep. John explained that he came from a parallel universe, and the chapter ended with him suspecting Pepper’s ring was one of the Nine Rings and learning how grief and the Stars’ infighting had driven his counterpart to create the dream.
John took the ring from Pepper Potts and entered Wizard City, where he confronted the Wizard King who had created the Eternal Sleep world. The Wizard King wanted someone else to take over his dream, but John rejected the false world.
John refused Eternal Sleep’s offer to rule an eternal dream world, and the two began a wizard’s duel. John turned Eternal Sleep’s own barrage of spells against him, bringing down his towers.
John defeated Eternal Sleep in their duel, though Eternal Sleep remained indestructible and the victory depended on the duel’s rules. Eternal Sleep revealed that Neville had awakened him through death and that his own failure to reach a higher level had led to the events surrounding the Stars and the conflict between wizards and Muggles.
Eternal Sleep offered the dreamers a choice between remaining in his world and returning to reality, while John chose to leave and awoke in the Nova Corps building. John departed for Earth, but Xandar soon came under attack by a Chitauri fleet and four powerful figures.
Stella spent Christmas at Hogwarts after the other students left, then opened an unmarked present that transported him to a station, where he encountered Professor Wick. The chapter ended with Stella recognizing his frighteningly familiar teacher as Wick stepped off a train.
John returned to Hogwarts with Stella and checked the Celestial Sphere with Snape, finding that repeated use had weakened the surrounding space and revealed new markings on the Egg-Shaped Meteorite. He reinforced the Celestial Spheres with a stable star river, while the meteorite’s origins and mysteries remained unclear.
John returned to New York for a late Christmas with his family after attending an Avengers musical and witnessing Spider-Man stop a bank robbery. He reunited with Watson at home, where his father welcomed him and wished him a belated Merry Christmas.
Banner settled into life in the Wizarding Kingdom, where he researched its unusual creatures and found himself the object of Olina’s affection. Their encounter was interrupted by Star Spirits riding Aurelion, while Hagrid admired the dragon-like creature.
While John was away for Christmas, Hector, Hermes, and Aurelion sparked a citywide hunt in Wizard City; after returning, John dealt with new concerns about supervillains and Wizards’ safety in the non-magical world. The chapter ended with John receiving a gift from Asgard.
John negotiated with Hela, Queen of Asgard, to rebuild the Bifrost in exchange for a friendship treaty and recognition of her rule. After sending Hela back to Asgard with the new Bifrost, John reflected on the future, while Percy received a mysterious letter bearing the name The Leaky Cauldron.
Harry and Ron celebrated Ron’s discharge at the Leaky Cauldron, where Percy confronted Ron over his complaints and offered to transfer him. John’s friends gathered for a Christmas feast and posed for a photograph that Hannah later hung in the pub.
John appointed Aurelion as Dragon Castle’s successor and considered how wizards might draw on dragons’ power. He then visited Wenwu to watch Trevor Slattery perform and ask to borrow the ten rings.
