With pounding music playing in the background, Yang Bo successfully cleared out all the vampires on the second floor. There were still some believers left, but they had hidden themselves, and he had no way to find them.
Looking disappointed, he headed toward the bar's kitchen.
Karen, the black woman, saw his dissatisfied expression and asked softly, "What's wrong? Did you miss some vampires?"
Yang Bo shook his head and gave her a conflicted look. "Sigh. I wanted to take those three edgy girls who could sing, dance, and rap back with me. Unfortunately, I'm not that much of a creep yet!"
Karen: "..."
Being able to say what you're thinking so casually already makes you a creep, you know.
Walking at the front, Blade pulled open the fridge door, revealing a hidden passage leading underground.
Who knew when these vampires had built an Underground Base like this?
Following the stone stairs, they reached a sleek, high-tech elevator. Its metal exterior felt cold and forbidding, and Yang Bo couldn't help thinking of the laser corridor in Resident Evil.
If they've installed lasers in here too, even ten Blades wouldn't stand a chance.
The elevator descended smoothly, soon arriving in a hall that resembled an underground bomb shelter. Rows of server-like equipment stood neatly inside, with red lights glowing on the metal cabinets.
Yang Bo's eyes lit up at the sight of the machines.
If I take these servers back, run a power cable and a network cable, and hook up a computer, I could definitely play Minecraft with 8K shaders.
Blade was clearly used to sights like this. He said calmly, "This is the vampires' Archive Room. It must be where they keep their important documents!"
Yang Bo immediately said, "An archive room? Not servers? Don't tell me all this high-tech-looking equipment is just a bunch of drawers!"
Blade nodded. Refusing to believe it, Yang Bo walked up to the nearest file cabinet, took out his Pickaxe, and struck it.
[Secure File Cabinet full of documents]
Yang Bo stared despondently at the equipment filling the hall. He could almost see his supercomputer slipping away.
Karen looked around at the equipment, struggling to process what she was seeing. She simply couldn't connect vampires with all the high-tech machinery in front of her. Hesitantly, she said:
"This... this is way too high-tech!"
"Their believers are spread across every industry-politics, finance, real estate!"
Pfft, pfft, pfft...
A string of farts rang out through the empty underground space, sounding especially jarring. Yang Bo instinctively covered his nose, then suddenly remembered that since activating digitized mode, he could only detect the smell of vampires and couldn't smell anything else. He lowered his hand.
"What's that sound?" Karen asked with a frown. She had clearly already suffered a biological attack.
Yang Bo smiled. "You'll find out in a moment!"
Rounding a corner, the three of them saw Officer Krieger, who had escaped earlier. A small cooler filled with blood bags sat beside him.
Krieger was holding a blood bag, feeding a puddle of vampire sitting in the corner. Yes, a puddle. This vampire weighed at least six hundred pounds, and the fat spilling out around him made it impossible for Yang Bo to tell whether he was sitting on the floor or on a bed.
Apart from being able to move his hands and head a little, he had essentially lost the ability to move any other part of his body.
Seeing him, Yang Bo couldn't help teasing, "Good grief. Even pigs during the Great Leap Forward probably only looked like this. Someone like him can become a vampire? Which vampire had tastes that extreme? Could they even get any blood out with a bite?"
Officer Krieger, completely engrossed in feeding him, jumped at the voice behind him. He quickly turned around and saw the three people who had appeared at his back.
"Daywalker, how... how did you find this place?"
Blade took a step forward. Panicking, Krieger released the blood bag in his hand, letting it fall onto the obese vampire. Stimulated by the blood, the vampire paid no attention to Yang Bo and the others. He reached out with his little hands and struggled to pick up the bag. Such a simple task was practically impossible for him.
"Krieger, my food! Hurry up and give me my food..."
He opened his mouth, revealing two sharp vampire fangs. Compared with the savage appearance of other vampires, Yang Bo actually found this fellow somewhat "cute."
"No need to rush. You can eat in a bit!"
Yang Bo was thinking of taking this fellow back and having him help turn people into vampires. He wouldn't even have to worry about him escaping. In this state, he could barely move without someone helping him.
Blade walked forward, ignoring Krieger, who had already collapsed on the floor. Looking at the corpulent vampire, he said, "I take it you're Bor, the Archivist!"
Only then did Bor snap out of his craving for blood. Panic filled his tiny eyes.
"Blade! How did you find this place? Damn it! Krieger, you led him here!"
His agitation brought on another string of pffts. Even Blade had to retreat two steps to avoid the onslaught. There was no helping it-a vampire's sense of smell was far more sensitive than an ordinary human's.
"Piggy, tell me where Frost is."
As Blade questioned him, he took a black pouch from his trench coat and pulled a flashlight out of it.
Bor asked in alarm, "What's that?"
"An Ultraviolet Light. Let's play a game. I ask, you answer. Give me a bad answer, and you'll become a roast suckling pig!"
Seeing the "deadly weapon" Blade had produced, Yang Bo hurriedly stopped him. He still wanted Bor. He couldn't let him get turned into a roast suckling pig.
"Wait, don't do anything yet. I have a use for this guy!"
Blade looked at him in confusion. Yang Bo continued, "Officer Krieger definitely knows where his master is!"
"Besides, as long as we're here, Frost will definitely come looking for you!"
Blade nodded, agreeing with Yang Bo. He wasn't the only one doing the hunting; Frost was looking for him too. Right now, though, he was very curious about what use Yang Bo could possibly have for this fat pig.
Yang Bo looked at Bor with a warm, friendly smile. "Bor, I think you're a rare talent. Come work for me!"
"If you have reservations, you can stay put here and wait until we've killed Frost before making your choice. I think you're a smart man."
Bor could feel Yang Bo's sincerity. Though he didn't know what the man needed him for, it was better than dying at Blade's hands right now. He also understood his standing among the vampires. Archivist sounded nice, but in reality, they had simply left him here to wait for death. After only a brief hesitation, he said:
"All right, I accept!"
