Background / History
Life in the Archive Room
Bor was a sumo wrestler before becoming a vampire. After his transformation, other vampires left him in the underground Archive Room, where he continued gaining weight and became dependent on others for food. Although he held the title of Archivist, he believed they had effectively abandoned him to wait for death 21 41.
Yang Bo, Blade, and Karen discovered him while Officer Krieger was feeding him blood. Blade threatened to interrogate him with an ultraviolet flashlight, but Yang Bo intervened and offered him employment. Bor accepted because working for Yang Bo offered a better chance of survival than remaining at Blade’s mercy 21.
Yang Bo subsequently forced Bor to bite Krieger despite Bor’s fear of Frost’s retaliation. Having already betrayed Frost, Bor volunteered information about the Blood God ritual, Blade’s importance as its sacrifice, and Frost’s location in the nearby Edgewood Building 22.
Extraction and New Home
After Frost’s death, Yang Bo asked Blade to retrieve Bor. His size prevented him from fitting through the upstairs doorway or elevator, so Blade had to blast through an entire wall to extract him. During the retrieval, Bor warned Blade that another vampire family had arrived in New York 32 41 42.
Blade transported him in a box truck. Yang Bo had briefly forgotten about the arrangement, but insisted that Blade keep Bor alive when reminded. The group waited until after sunset before opening the cargo compartment to avoid exposing him to sunlight 42 43.
Bor eagerly accepted Yang Bo’s offer to make him stronger: he wanted to escape a life of immobility and dependence on caregivers. After receiving Minecraft-style powers, he could move freely in bat form and followed Yang Bo to their new underground home in Central Park 44 47.
Hunting Other Vampires
Bor’s first fight began when Yang Bo threw him, in bat form, at a roadside vampire. Initially panicked, Bor followed instructions to revert to his full-sized body, pin the enemy beneath him, and drain its blood. He then collected the dropped Vampire Fangs and Vampire Blood, revealing that he could see monster loot 48.
During the subsequent assault on Frost’s building, Bor began using his transformations offensively, flying over enemies and reverting to crush them. He singled out Bick after being insulted, drained his blood while enduring gunfire, and remained downstairs to handle the surviving vampires when Yang Bo continued upstairs 49.
Bor continued eagerly accompanying Yang Bo on nighttime hunts. At Yang Bo’s command, he bit an unconscious Hydra agent whom Yang Bo had saved from poisoning with Milk, initiating the agent’s transformation. Bor offered to turn Jerry as well, but Yang Bo declined and later transformed Jerry through a different method 57 59.
During a night in Hell’s Kitchen, Bor helped subdue armed robbers and collected their blood in bottles. He did not kill his human targets that night, instead leaving them barely alive. The group returned before sunrise because sunlight would end his bat transformation and leave Yang Bo responsible for transporting him 61.
Later, Bor hunted vampires independently each day. He attributed further weight loss to this activity and complained that Blade had become less active after Karen became pregnant 79 174 175.
Interrogation and the Washington Hunters
At Yang Bo’s underground home, Bor whipped the captive Agent Allen and enthusiastically offered to extract information from him. Yang Bo interrupted and instructed Bor to observe Natasha Romanoff’s interrogation techniques instead 62.
Yang Bo subsequently took Bor to Washington, promising him ample opportunities to hunt vampires. In Karen’s laboratory, Bor demonstrated his transformation and reminded her of their earlier meeting in the Archive Room. His powers prompted Karen to seek a blood sample; Bor fled behind Yang Bo when she produced an enormous syringe. After Yang Bo intervened, Karen used a smaller syringe and eventually obtained blood after Bor suggested cutting him with a knife 91 92.
Albert and his armed companions initially mistook Bor for a hostile vampire and aimed their weapons at him. Whistler explained that Bor was an ally working for Yang Bo. Bor later demonstrated Bat Transformation during Yang Bo’s recruitment of new Vampire Hunters, knocking Hannibal down, but the others still declined to become vampires themselves 92 94.
Angie and the Bloodpack Assault
When Yang Bo spared a female vampire who had never actively drunk human blood, Bor examined her scent and confirmed that she had not harmed humans. Yang Bo assigned her to follow Bor and learn from him, then gave Bor a Vampire’s Fang. This vampire was later identified as Angie 109 176.
During the attack on the Bloodpack base, Yang Bo threw Bor into a room full of vampires. His enemies recognized him as “Bor the Blood Bat” and fled for cover. Bor used Teleportation, blood-draining, Dark Blood Bullet, and the Heart-Piercer to pursue and kill them. His ability to stand and run at level 10 surprised Yang Bo, who had previously known him as almost immobile in human form 176.
Angie joined the attack, and Bor and Blade finished clearing the room. Yang Bo instructed Bor to have logistics personnel clean up afterward. When Norma unleashed mutant vampires, Bor let them swarm over his body and drained them dry, repeatedly using himself as bait until Norma ordered the creatures to withdraw 176 178.
Battle Against the Black Order
Bor and Angie fought Proxima Midnight during the confrontation with Thanos’s forces. Bor taunted Corvus Glaive by saying that his wife tasted better than he did, while Angie used Bor’s charge to attack Proxima from behind. Bor also detonated blood around her 195.
By the time Thanos was killed, Blade, Bor, and Angie had worn down Corvus and Proxima. Bor deliberately accepted a spear wound while continuing to target Proxima, prolonging the fight and taunting the couple. Yang Bo ordered him to stop behaving like a “freak” and instructed the group to kill the pair if they refused to surrender 196.
European Campaign and Pursuit of Godhood
Yang Bo summoned Bor to a forest outside New York, where Bor reported that he had reached vampire level 18. Bor then assembled the Hunter Association’s core force: eighty Hunters organized into sixteen five-person squads, accompanied by more than twenty allied vampires. His prolonged ideological instruction had helped foster reverence for Yang Bo and the belief that their own vampires were distinct from human-blood-drinking predators 351.
Yang Bo sent most of this force to Europe to hunt vampires and other supernatural groups, including werewolves, Witches, Templar Knights, and Monster Hunters. He privately instructed Bor to find a way to become the god of vampires. Bor considered the request and firmly accepted it, although Yang Bo did not yet know how to achieve that transformation 351.
After completing the Association’s underground headquarters, Yang Bo ordered Bor to go to Europe while Angie managed affairs at home. Bor was told to kill Templar Knights who attacked them and to kill hostile vampires without waiting for them to attack first 352.
Defeat and Resurrection at York
Bor led twenty-five Vampire Hunters into an ancient castle near York, but their attack on the vampires’ headquarters encountered a prepared ambush. More than half of his force fell during the fighting, and an enemy red-light effect nullified the Hunters’ usual invisibility. Bor’s confrontation with the Vampire Grand Duke was further complicated by the duke’s special defensive ability and poisonous blood, which countered Bor’s blood-draining recovery 368 370.
Although Bor could have escaped through Teleportation, he refused to abandon the Hunters who lacked that ability. He restrained the Grand Duke after being pierced through the chest and detonated his own body, spraying penetrating, corrosive flesh and blood. A tiny golden figure restored him during the battle, allowing him to return and detonate again 368.
When Yang Bo arrived, Bor had been reduced to scattered pieces of flesh. Yang Bo used the Time-Flow Pocket Watch to reassemble his remains and then cast Hero Immortal to restore him to life. Yang Bo also revived the fallen Hunters 369.
Yang Bo reprimanded Bor for his careless raid, transferred command of Hunter operations to Kate, and ordered Bor to remain with him temporarily. He gave Bor an Alchemist’s Bag to improve his preparedness. During subsequent experimentation on the captive Grand Duke, Bor discovered that he could drain the duke’s blood without suffering the toxin that had previously poisoned him 370 371.
Egypt and Khonshu’s Power
While traveling with Yang Bo, Bor was transported in a pet carrier, an experience he found humiliating. Yang Bo later introduced him to Steven as an employee who also served as a mascot. When Arthur Harrow and Ammit’s followers surrounded them, Bor obeyed orders to avoid killing anyone: he charged through the followers, then teleported behind Harrow, knocked him down, and brought him and Ammit’s staff to Yang Bo 372 373.
Jack, another personality sharing Steven’s body, proved capable of holding his own against Bor. In Egypt, Jack later stabbed Yang Bo while Yang Bo was arranging Ammit’s release. Bor charged Jack and self-detonated as Harrow fled with the statue containing Ammit 374 376.
Yang Bo sought to give Bor Khonshu’s power, reasoning that the Moon God’s authority could allow him to turn his surroundings into night and enhance his vampire strength. Bor was excited by the opportunity but asked how he was supposed to absorb that power, exposing a gap in Yang Bo’s initial plan 377.
After the Ancient One used Eternity’s power to reduce Ammit and Khonshu to figurines, Yang Bo reserved Khonshu’s power for Bor. Bor absorbed it before leaving Egypt, gaining tremendous strength and losing roughly half his previous weight. He clarified that the divine power had not displaced the vampire power Yang Bo had given him 379.
Back at the vampire castle, Bor resisted Yang Bo’s efforts to make him regain weight. Yang Bo assigned him to remain in Europe and guard against a vampire counterattack, with instructions to report unusual developments rather than act rashly. Bor wanted to accompany Yang Bo instead and offered to remain in bat form, but Yang Bo insisted that he complete his assignment first 379.
Appearance
Bor’s immense body is recognizable enough that other vampires identify him immediately during battle 49.
- Vampire form: Initially extremely obese, with tiny eyes and small hands; his weight makes ordinary movement and transportation difficult 21 22 41.
- Bat form: Initially gray, with a nearly spherical body, a disproportionately small head, and half-meter-long wings. Despite these proportions, he can hover and fly 47.
- Combat mass: His several hundred pounds of body weight can immobilize vampires or crush multiple opponents when dropped from above 48 49.
- Progressive weight loss: By Chapter 59, his hands can touch when he rubs them together. His formerly spherical bat body later becomes slightly oval. Bor reports that every vampire level increase makes him slimmer 59 174 351.
- Level 10 physique: Still weighs over five hundred jin, but can stand, run, and move with extraordinary agility 176.
- Level 18 physique: Weighs a little over two hundred kilograms, also described as over four hundred jin, and retains a protruding belly and thick arms 351 373.
- After absorbing Khonshu’s power: Drops from roughly four hundred jin to a little over two hundred jin. He welcomes the change and refuses to regain his former bulk 379.
Personality
Bor initially prioritizes survival. He fears Blade, Frost, and abandonment, and complies with Yang Bo’s demands when threatened. His dependence on others makes him particularly anxious about becoming useless, though he also volunteers valuable information once he recognizes that his future rests with Yang Bo and Blade 21 22 45.
Receiving powers makes him increasingly grateful and excited. Night Vision deepens his respect for Yang Bo, while flight delights him because it restores his freedom of movement. His first successful kill produces a sharper change: he becomes eager for further combat, laughs wildly while fighting, and reacts with murderous anger when Bick calls him a “fat pig” 47 48 49.
His enthusiasm for violence extends to interrogations and taunting enemies. He eagerly whips Allen, adopts melodramatic declarations during vampire hunts, and deliberately provokes Corvus Glaive by targeting Proxima Midnight. His resentment of insults about his weight persists: during the nonlethal attack on Harrow’s followers, he runs over the man who calls him fat twice 62 176 196 373.
Bor’s loyalty to Yang Bo becomes increasingly demonstrative. He eagerly welcomes his return, carries a lighter solely because Yang Bo smokes, and helps instill reverence for him among the Association’s members. Yang Bo eventually describes him as clever and highly capable despite his earlier dependence and occasionally childish behavior 65 92 351.
His courage develops beyond personal survival. Against the Vampire Grand Duke, he refuses to escape and leave his subordinates behind, instead sacrificing himself repeatedly to protect them. Nevertheless, Yang Bo considers his initial raid rash and removes his command authority afterward 368 370.
Bor embraces the possibility of becoming a god but remains attached to following Yang Bo personally. Even after gaining Khonshu’s power, he would prefer to accompany his employer in bat form rather than stay behind on assignment. He also firmly values his reduced weight, resisting Yang Bo’s attempts to restore his old size 351 377 379.
Abilities & Skills
Remote Blood-Draining
Bor’s transformed state allows him to draw blood without biting or touching his target 45.
- He senses that he can drain living creatures within three meters 46.
- Extracted blood can be collected directly in Glass Bottles 45 46 48.
- He can drain other vampires to death; his first victim crumbles into powder rather than burning to ash 48.
- Blood-draining supports recovery during combat. While draining Bick, bullets lodged in Bor’s body are expelled, and he remains unfazed by gunfire 49.
- Can deliberately leave human targets alive after draining them, as demonstrated against criminals in Hell’s Kitchen 61.
- Can drain multiple mutant vampires clinging to his body, using their attacks to bring them within reach 178.
- Poisonous blood can interrupt his ability to sustain himself through combat. The Vampire Grand Duke’s blood initially poisons him, although Bor later reports apparent immunity to that specific toxin 368 370 371.
Night Vision
Yang Bo assigns Night Vision as Bor’s first vampire skill 47.
- Makes his nighttime surroundings appear as bright as day 47.
Regeneration
An active skill assigned by Yang Bo 47.
- Grants 19 seconds of Regeneration I and 19 seconds of Blood Thirst III 47.
- Blood Thirst increases satiety consumption, but causes almost no depletion while the user remains still 47.
Bat Transformation
Allows Bor to change into a flying bat while retaining the ability to speak 47.
- Restores independent mobility despite his otherwise cumbersome body 47.
- Automatically ends in Overworld sunlight or water 47.
- Can be canceled above enemies to turn his full body weight into a crushing attack 49.
- Bor initially prefers this form because his human body remains unable to move freely 59.
- Remains available after his later physical advancements; he continues to use it for travel and to perch on Yang Bo’s shoulder 351 373 379.
Bat Summoning
Yang Bo assigns this skill alongside Bat Transformation 47.
- Releases a swarm of bats to distract enemies while the user is in bat form 47.
Teleportation
Bor demonstrates short-range combat teleportation during the Bloodpack assault 176.
- Vanishes from his current position and reappears beside or behind a target, bypassing cover and enabling surprise attacks 176 368 373.
- Uses it to rapidly reposition for blood attacks and Heart-Piercer strikes 176 368.
- Could have escaped the Grand Duke with this ability, but chose to remain because his accompanying Hunters could not teleport 368.
- Avoids Harrow’s staff attack by teleporting behind him before striking 373.
Dark Blood Bullet
A ranged, area-of-effect vampire attack 176.
- Condenses extracted blood into a dark red sphere and launches it toward enemies 176.
- Explodes into droplets that pierce bodies throughout the affected area, allowing Bor to attack groups sheltering behind cover 176.
- Can damage the Vampire Grand Duke despite his evasive transformations, although the damage is initially slight 368.
- Bor also detonates blood around Proxima Midnight during their fight 195.
Self-Detonation
Bor can swell and explosively destroy his own body, releasing highly penetrating, corrosive flesh and blood 368.
- Restrains the Grand Duke with his body before detonating, preventing the enemy from escaping through his special ability 368.
- Uses this attack repeatedly when restored during the Grand Duke battle 368.
- Leaves him physically destroyed; Yang Bo later reassembles his scattered remains and resurrects him with external equipment and magic 369.
- Also uses self-detonation against Jack in Egypt 376.
Enhanced Physique
Vampire advancement eventually overcomes the immobility caused by Bor’s weight 176.
- At level 10, can run extremely quickly, dodge bullets with nimble reflexes, and strike with enough speed to leave afterimages 176.
- At level 18, combines his enhanced physique and remaining bulk to charge through more than a dozen people without using offensive skills 373.
- Loses weight with successive vampire level increases 351.
- Gains a tremendous additional increase in strength after absorbing Khonshu’s power 379.
Blood-Scent Assessment
Bor can assess evidence of direct human feeding through a vampire’s scent 109.
- Confirms that Angie has not harmed humans because the relevant scent on her is extremely faint 109.
Vampiric Bite and Feeding
Before receiving Minecraft powers, Bor can already initiate vampiric transformation through biting 22.
- Bites Krieger under Yang Bo’s orders; afterward, he explains that Krieger can become a vampire if he survives 22.
- Normally feeds on blood bags during his confinement 22 41.
- Minecraft Human Hearts rapidly heal his lightning burns when eaten 46 47.
- Bites an unconscious Hydra agent to initiate transformation, again noting that survival and successful transformation are not guaranteed 59.
- Retains his vampire nature after absorbing Khonshu’s power and rejects Yang Bo’s assumption that ordinary roast meat should restore his weight 379.
Archival Knowledge
Bor knows the Book of Erebus prophecy underlying Frost’s Blood God plan 22.
- Identifies Blade’s blood as the ritual’s most important sacrifice 22.
- Operates the archive’s keyboard to display information and open the room containing the book’s pages 22.
- Knows Frost’s location and later learns of another vampire family’s arrival in New York 22 41.
- His former responsibilities included deciphering the Vampire Book, contributing to Yang Bo’s later assessment that he was more capable than an ordinary bloodlust-driven vampire 351.
Leadership and Instruction
Bor becomes an important organizer and ideological influence within the Hunter Association 351.
- Instructs Angie after Yang Bo assigns her to him 109 176.
- Assembles eighty core Hunters and more than twenty allied vampires for Yang Bo’s European campaign 351.
- Helps cultivate the members’ reverence for Yang Bo and their distinction between allied vampires and predatory human feeders 351.
- Initially commands field operations, but Yang Bo transfers that authority to Kate after the disastrous castle raid 368 370.
Khonshu’s Divine Power
Bor absorbs Moon God Khonshu’s power following the Ancient One’s intervention in Egypt 379.
- Greatly increases his strength and reduces his weight 379.
- Does not dispel or replace the vampire power bestowed by Yang Bo; Bor explicitly confirms that he is still a vampire 379.
- Yang Bo intends the Moon God’s power to let Bor turn his surroundings into night and enhance his vampire abilities, but the supplied account does not show Bor demonstrating this effect 377.
- His increased strength leads Yang Bo to entrust him with defending the European castle against a vampire counterattack 379.
Minecraft-System Access and Limits
Bor gains only partial access to Minecraft-like mechanics 45 47 48.
- Cannot see health hearts or open an inventory 45.
- Cannot access his skills by thinking “skills”; Yang Bo assigns his skill points through the menu visible beside Bor’s health bar 47.
- Receives two skill points per level-up 47.
- Can see and retrieve monster drops before Yang Bo collects them, unlike ordinary observers 48.
- Later gains item-storage access through an Alchemist’s Bag rather than an innate inventory. Following Yang Bo’s instructions to use Mind Control and think “open” reveals the bag’s storage slots 370.
- Is affected by Interdiction Torches when excluded from their whitelist; the repelling force pins him against a wall even after he transforms into a bat 370.
Equipment / Items
- Glass Bottles — Supplied by Yang Bo to store drained blood 45 46 48.
- Rallying Altar — Yang Bo’s blood-powered apparatus for advancing Bor’s vampire level; its activation attracts lightning 46.
- Human Hearts — Provided by Yang Bo as food and for rapid injury recovery 44 46 47.
- Blood bags — His usual food source while confined to the Archive Room 22 41.
- Leather whip — Uses a small whip while interrogating the captive Agent Allen 62.
- Vampire’s Fang — Receives one from Yang Bo when Angie is placed under his instruction 109.

- Lighter — Carries one specifically to light Yang Bo’s cigarettes despite not smoking himself 351.
- Alchemist’s Bag — White storage bag given by Yang Bo after the Grand Duke battle. Provides a large array of item slots accessed mentally 370.
- Milk — Keeps some ready while draining the revived Grand Duke because his blood had previously caused poisoning; discovers that he no longer needs it against that particular toxin 371.
- Pet carrier — Used by Yang Bo to transport Bor in bat form, much to Bor’s resentment 372 373.
Relationships
- Yang Bo — Employer and source of his new powers. Rescues him from Blade’s interrogation, controls his skill allocation, and directs his first battles. Rejects Bor’s address of “my lord,” asking him to use his name instead. Later tasks him with pursuing vampire godhood, resurrects him after the Grand Duke battle, and arranges for him to receive Khonshu’s power. Bor remains deeply attached to him, while Yang Bo alternates between treating him as a capable subordinate and a pet or mascot 21 47 48 351 369 370 373 379.
- Blade / Eric Brooks — Initially threatens him with ultraviolet light, later extracts and transports him for Yang Bo. Fights alongside him and intervenes during the battle partly out of concern that Bor might die. Becomes a regular hunting partner and frequently throws Bor into enemies; Bor later complains that Blade has grown less active after Karen’s pregnancy 21 42 49 175 176.
- Deacon Frost — A feared figure whom Bor betrays by biting Krieger and revealing the Blood God plan. Bor believes Frost will kill him for that betrayal 22.
- Officer Krieger — Feeds Bor in the Archive Room; later becomes the unwilling recipient of Bor’s bite under Yang Bo’s orders 21 22.
- Phil Coulson — Witnesses Bor’s transformation experiments and helps obtain the sand needed to make the altar’s glass components 44 45 46 47.
- Bick — A vampire who recognizes and insults Bor during battle. Bor responds by targeting him with blood-draining 49.
- Jerry — Fellow subordinate who joins Yang Bo’s nighttime activities. Bor offers to bite him during his recruitment, but Yang Bo refuses because he has other plans for him 59 61.
- Agent Allen — Captive whom Bor enthusiastically whips and offers to interrogate 62.
- Natasha Romanoff — Yang Bo instructs Bor to observe her interrogation of Allen and learn S.H.I.E.L.D.’s methods 62.
- Karen — First encounters Bor in the Archive Room and later studies his transformed state in Washington. Her oversized syringe frightens him into hiding behind Yang Bo; she ultimately obtains a smaller blood sample 21 92.
- Whistler — Identifies Bor to Albert’s armed group as an ally working for Yang Bo, preventing their initial hostility from escalating 92.
- Angie — Humane vampire assigned to follow Bor and learn from him. He verifies her lack of direct human feeding through scent. They later fight together against the Bloodpack, Norma’s mutants, and Proxima Midnight; both adopt dramatic rhetoric during combat 109 176 178 195.
- Corvus Glaive and Proxima Midnight — Enemy couple whom Bor fights alongside Blade and Angie. He repeatedly drains or attacks Proxima and taunts Corvus about her blood, earning a reprimand from Yang Bo for prolonging the fight 195 196.
- Lily — Feels innate pressure from Bor’s higher vampire rank when Yang Bo summons him. Bor notices her vampire nature but does not question Yang Bo about her 351.
- Hunter Association members — Regard Bor as a senior figure and absorb his teachings about Yang Bo and hostile vampires. He refuses to abandon the Hunters during the Grand Duke battle, even at the cost of his own destruction 351 368 369.
- Kate — Replaces him as commander of Hunter operations after Yang Bo reprimands him for the failed castle raid 370.
- Vampire Grand Duke — Opponent whose special ability and poisonous blood counter Bor’s preferred fighting style. Bor repeatedly self-detonates against him, then later drains him while he is captive and discovers apparent immunity to his toxin 368 370 371.
- Arthur Harrow — Captures him alive on Yang Bo’s orders, using Teleportation to evade his staff and attack from behind 373.
- Steven / Marc / Jack — Travels with Steven and Yang Bo during the Moon Knight incident. Jack can hold his own against Bor and later becomes the target of Bor’s self-detonation after stabbing Yang Bo. Steven loses his transformation ability following Bor’s acquisition of Khonshu’s power 373 374 376 379.
- Khonshu — Moon God whose power Yang Bo promises to Bor. Bor ultimately absorbs it, gaining strength while retaining his vampire nature 377 379.
- Ancient One — Her intervention makes Khonshu’s power available for Bor while she receives Ammit’s power 379.
