He grabbed Krieger, who was slumped on the floor.
Officer Krieger kept struggling, clearly panicking as he tried desperately to break free of Yang Bo's grip.
"No... what are you going to do? Let me go!"
Yang Bo gave Krieger a look reserved for idiots, then raised his head and asked Blade, "Has he always been this brave? Hasn't he stopped to think about how we broke through the bar and got here?"
That single remark left Blade speechless. These vampire worshippers really did have something wrong with their brains. If they didn't, they wouldn't worship vampires.
Thud! Yang Bo raised his fist and mercilessly smashed it into the man's head, barking, "Shut up!"
"Don't you want to become a vampire? I'll grant your wish right now!"
After taking Yang Bo's punch, Krieger felt as though his brain had lost the ability to think. Dazed, he was dragged over to Bor.
Hearing Yang Bo's words, Blade frowned. "You want to turn him into a vampire?"
"Isn't that perfect? His wish is to become a vampire, isn't it? Then I'll grant his wish!"
Yang Bo spoke with a smile, looking as though he had Krieger's best interests at heart. He grabbed Krieger's hair and yanked hard, exposing his neck before placing it beside Bor's mouth.
"Hey, Bor, now's your chance to shine!"
Looking at the tempting neck right in front of his face, Bor's mouth flooded uncontrollably with saliva. He hadn't had his fill earlier, but his fear of Frost suppressed his desire, and he said nervously:
"No, he's one of Frost's followers. If I turn him into a vampire, Frost won't spare me..."
Before Bor could finish, Yang Bo interrupted him bluntly. "You don't seem to understand your situation!"
"Maybe I was too nice to you earlier, and now you think you have room to bargain with me!"
Yang Bo narrowed his eyes at Bor and enunciated each word. "Now, either you turn him into a vampire, or I kill you right here!"
"Ten."
"Nine."
"Three."
"I... I'll bite him! But shouldn't eight come after nine?"
Seeing Bor give in, Yang Bo raised an eyebrow and said flatly, "What? Do you have a problem with my math?"
Bor waved his little hands and hurriedly said, "No, no!" As Yang Bo picked Krieger up off the floor again and brought his exposed neck close, Bor had no choice but to open his mouth and bite into Krieger's pale, clean neck.
"Aah..."
Krieger let out an agonized scream. Although he had always wanted to become a vampire, he had never imagined that being bitten would hurt so much.
A dozen or so seconds later, Bor released his bite and licked his lips in satisfaction. He normally fed on blood bags, but how could bagged blood compare to fresh blood? He had forgotten how long it had been since he'd last tasted fresh blood after being dumped down here.
"All right, now we just have to wait! As long as he survives, he can turn into a vampire!"
Yang Bo tossed the pale-faced Krieger onto the floor. Karen, who had remained silent all this time, walked straight over, crouched down, and began checking his condition.
As a blood specialist, she found this transformation immensely fascinating. The only pity was that there was no suitable equipment here.
Watching Karen's absorbed expression, Yang Bo offered a well-meaning warning.
"Beautiful, what you're doing is pretty dangerous. You'd better tie him up first!"
Karen paused, then realized what he meant. She took off her jacket, revealing the solid black fitted tank top underneath and putting her shapely figure on full display. Two whistles echoed through the underground space. Yang Bo and Blade exchanged a glance and grinned in a way any man would understand.
Seeing their reactions, Karen rolled her eyes at both of them.
Just then, Bor's voice interrupted their wordless "exchange."
"Um... do you need me to tell you Frost's address? And about his Blood God plan?"
Bor's reasoning was simple. Since he had already been forced to betray Frost, there was no chance Frost would spare him. That being the case, he could only place his bets on Blade and the unfamiliar man before him.
At the mention of the Blood God plan, Blade immediately became interested. He looked at Bor and asked, "Tell me everything you know! Yang Bo may want to keep you alive, but if you don't cooperate, I don't think he'll give you another chance!"
Bor nodded, though even such a simple movement looked strenuous.
"Frost wants to resurrect the Blood God!"
As he spoke, he stretched out his fingers and tapped at the keyboard. A 3D display appeared on the screen, while a nearby metal door opened automatically.
"Maghra is about to descend. Twelve holy ones will awaken the Blood God. That is the prophecy!"
Seeing Blade's bewildered expression, Bor continued explaining, "It's a prophecy from the Book of Erebus! The pages of the Book of Erebus are over there."
He stretched out his fat little hand and pointed toward the open metal door.
Blade's gaze sharpened at those words. The Book of Erebus, the legendary vampire bible. He knew its name, but had never seen it in person.
When Blade remained silent, Bor revealed another crucial piece of information. "Daywalker, your blood is the most important sacrifice for resurrecting the Blood God. Frost will do everything he can to capture you alive!"
Hearing Bor's words, Yang Bo couldn't help complaining, "Why does resurrecting the vampires' ancestor specifically require the Daywalker's blood? Is the bloodline of those twelve vampire elders not pure enough?"
Even when he'd watched the movie, Yang Bo had never understood why resurrecting the Blood God specifically required Blade's blood. Was it just because he was the protagonist?
Besides, it wasn't as though a Daywalker couldn't be replicated. They just had to find pregnant women about to give birth and bite them. With a large enough sample, there would definitely be new Daywalkers.
Bor looked helpless. "I don't know either. That's what the prophecy says. He's the only known Daywalker at present. Maybe it's because he's too famous among vampires."
Yang Bo could just about accept that explanation. Seeing Blade turn to head toward the room where the pages were stored, he said to Bor, "I can't take you away just yet. You understand, with your..."
He glanced over Bor's physique, which would terrify an ordinary person, and continued, "Tell me Frost's address. Once I've dealt with him, I'll come back for you!"
"He's in the nearby Edgewood Building right now. But he must already know you came down through the bar. There's a good chance he's on his way here."
Yang Bo nodded quietly. "I'm sure you have a way to handle him. I'll be going now!"
He waved, grabbed the policeman off the floor, and followed Blade into the other room.
