Ch. 126Waylon's decision

Waylon Jones rejected Penguin’s offer and decided not to betray Miaomiao, whom he regarded as his friend. After finding her asleep in his den, he realized Penguin’s plan could put her in danger and prepared to warn her.

  • Waylon recalled how he sheltered homeless children and endured others treating him as a monster and a tool.
  • Waylon decided he would not join Penguin and Scarecrow’s plan, since it could make him an enemy of Batman and put Miaomiao at risk.
  • Waylon told Penguin he was leaving because Miaomiao was his friend, then walked away despite expecting retaliation.
  • Waylon returned to his den and found Miaomiao asleep on his couch after delivering supplies.
  • Waylon feared that Penguin might have recruited other villains and that Miaomiao could be hurt, so he went to tell her what was happening.

Ch. 127Gotham by night

Scarecrow released fear toxin from the Ace Chemical Plant while Batman and his allies were occupied with toxin trucks and Two-Face, leaving Gotham under attack from both fronts. As the toxin spread, Miaomiao called for rain, and a storm began sweeping over the city.

  • Scarecrow and Penguin coordinated an attack, with Scarecrow preparing to spread toxin across Gotham while Penguin arranged for Two-Face to distract Batman.
  • Scarecrow released fear toxin through the Ace Chemical Plant’s chimneys and vents as Batman, Robin, Red Hood, and the police dealt with toxin trucks and Two-Face.
  • Red Robin identified the chemical plant as the real threat, while Miaomiao noted that rain could stop the spreading toxin.
  • Miaomiao’s words were followed by lightning, thunder, and a storm breaking over Gotham.

Ch. 128Quan Ke vs. Penguin

Miaomiao’s sudden storm dispersed Scarecrow’s fear toxin, but Penguin tried to escape Miller Harbor in his armored car. Miaomiao stopped the car with a wall of water, and Penguin ordered a bodyguard to attack her.

  • A torrential storm diluted Scarecrow’s fear toxin, and Scarecrow fled with his remaining canisters.
  • Miaomiao told Red Robin that summoning the rain had not exhausted her, then spotted Penguin preparing to escape.
  • Miaomiao rushed to stop Penguin, prompting Red Robin to warn Red Hood and send him toward Miller Harbor.
  • Penguin’s armored Rolls-Royce kept moving after Miaomiao’s Water Arrows punctured its tires.
  • Miaomiao raised a wall of water in front of Penguin’s car, causing it to crash and stop.
  • Penguin ordered a bodyguard to get out and kill Miaomiao.

Ch. 129A Little Penguin

Miaomiao confronted Penguin in the rain and overcame his bodyguards and weaponized car. She hauled Penguin out, leaving him captured and still shouting at her.

  • Penguin ordered his bodyguards to knock Robin out, and they reluctantly faced Miaomiao in the rain.
  • Miaomiao paralyzed both bodyguards with her toxin and left them sprawled in the water.
  • Penguin activated his car's machine guns, but Miaomiao dodged the fire and incapacitated the driver.
  • Miaomiao shattered the car's bulletproof window and tore through its armored door, while her uniform repelled Penguin's poisoned needles and umbrella blade.
  • Penguin called Miaomiao an outcast and threatened her, but she ignored him and dragged him out of the car.

Ch. 130Was the Fear Toxin Not Sealed Properly?

Miaomiao confronted Penguin and defeated his men, while Killer Croc arrived and spoke with her as though he were a concerned friend. Penguin mistook the scene for a hallucination caused by Scarecrow’s fear toxin, whose effects on Waylon were left unresolved.

  • Miaomiao knocked Penguin’s umbrella into a puddle, scattering its toxin capsules, and ignored his attempts to make her remember his name.
  • Killer Croc arrived to find Penguin’s vehicle wrecked and his guards down, while Penguin begged him to attack Miaomiao.
  • Killer Croc scolded Penguin for interrupting his conversation with Miaomiao, leaving Penguin convinced he was hallucinating.
  • Waylon recalled that he had come to check on Miaomiao after hearing trouble and had encountered Scarecrow while heading toward Miller Harbor.
  • Scarecrow sprayed fear toxin into Waylon’s face after Waylon refused to join him.

Ch. 131Birds and a fish tail

Waylon overcame Scarecrow’s fear toxin and reached Miller Harbor, where Miaomiao had captured Penguin. After she scattered Penguin’s trained carrion birds with Batman’s Bird Repellent, Miaomiao’s legs transformed into a fish tail.

  • Waylon resisted Scarecrow’s fear toxin, beat Scarecrow and his mercenaries without killing them, and left them for the police.
  • Waylon reached Miller Harbor and found Miaomiao had captured Penguin, while Red Hood taunted Penguin and picked a fight with Killer Croc.
  • Penguin used an ultrasonic whistle to summon his trained crows and jackdaws, but Miaomiao knocked him unconscious before he could escape.
  • Batman arrived with Bird Repellent, and Miaomiao spread it over the flock, forcing the birds to fly away.
  • Miaomiao’s repeated use of Spiritual Power Arts disrupted her balance cycle, transforming her legs into a blue-violet fish tail.

Ch. 132Transformation

Miaomiao unexpectedly transformed into a mermaid while celebrating the mission’s end, embarrassing herself in front of the Batfamily. With police approaching, the group left the scene, while Killer Croc departed on his own after promising to keep Miaomiao’s secret.

  • Miaomiao’s legs turned into a fish tail, and Red Hood caught her and covered her with his cape as Batman checked that she was unharmed.
  • Miaomiao demanded that everyone forget her transformation, but Robin admitted he had recorded it, and Alfred promised to have the video deleted.
  • Batman thanked Waylon Jones for helping stop Scarecrow’s escape, and Waylon promised not to reveal Miaomiao’s secret before leaving through a manhole.
  • Miaomiao invited Waylon to join them for cocoa, but he declined and vanished underground.
  • Batman led the group away as police approached, with Miaomiao riding in the Batmobile and Robin reluctantly climbing onto Red Hood’s motorcycle.

Ch. 133The Joker Oblivion Plan

Tim, Damian, and Miaomiao planned to weaken Joker’s influence by cutting off his publicity, erasing his traces, and keeping Harley Quinn occupied. Dick Grayson discovered their secret meeting and confronted them about the plan.

  • Tim explained Joker’s attention-seeking crimes, signature colors, and followers to Miaomiao and Damian.
  • Miaomiao suggested that Pamela keep Harley Quinn occupied so she could not help Joker.
  • Damian proposed cutting off Joker’s publicity channels and erasing traces of his past crimes.
  • Dick Grayson entered the library, praised Miaomiao, and asked whose idea the Joker Oblivion Plan was.

Ch. 134Infiltrating the Joker Gang

Dick agreed to keep Damian, Tim, and Miaomiao’s plan secret from Bruce as they discussed quietly erasing the Joker’s influence and disrupting his operations. Miaomiao and Damian infiltrated a Joker Gang meeting, but the chapter ended when the gang’s leader challenged a hesitant newcomer to chant.

  • Dick promised not to tell Bruce about the plan, and Tim proposed gradually filtering online Joker reports while the others targeted physical traces and stockpiles.
  • Miaomiao volunteered to infiltrate the Joker Gang, and Tim supplied her and Damian with false identities and hacked their verification system.
  • Damian and Miaomiao joined a Joker Gang meeting at an abandoned amusement park, where members indoctrinated newcomers with posters, masks, recordings, and the Joker’s speech.
  • A veteran member gave Miaomiao a Joker poster and demanded that she honor the Joker, while Damian restrained his reaction to preserve their cover.
  • The gang leader noticed that the newcomers were not chanting and confronted a frightened young man beside Damian and Miaomiao.

Ch. 135Taking down the gathering site

Damian and Miaomiao went undercover at a Joker Gang gathering and helped the police raid the site. Most members were arrested, but the leader with hypnotic powers escaped.

  • The Joker Gang leader used hypnotic persuasion to turn a reluctant recruit into a follower, and Miaomiao and Damian realized how the gang drew in and controlled people.
  • A veteran gang member threatened Damian and Miaomiao for not chanting, so they reluctantly joined the crowd while keeping their cover.
  • Tim signaled that the police were closing in, and the arriving sirens sent the panicked Joker Gang members scattering.
  • Damian led Miaomiao into the shadows and tripped the veteran gang member with a thrown metal ornament as they escaped.
  • Tim reported that the police had arrested most of the gang at the gathering site, but the hypnotic leader had gotten away.

Ch. 136Mysterious Song

Miaomiao recorded a song infused with the Merfolk's Illusion Song and used Drake Enterprises to broadcast it across Gotham, hoping to draw lost recruits away from the Joker Gang. As the song reached its followers, crime and Joker Gang activity declined, and Batman reviewed the results in the Batcave.

  • Miaomiao decided to target the Joker Gang's new recruits and reserves, while Tim, Damian, and Dick supported her efforts.
  • Miaomiao recorded a song that carried joy and hope without controlling its listeners.
  • With Timothy Drake's support, the song spread across Gotham through the underground radio and Drake Enterprises.
  • The song reached Joker Gang followers and helped some abandon violence and reconsider their lives.
  • Gordon received reports showing Joker Gang gatherings had fallen by seventy percent and crimes of passion had reached a six-month low.
  • Batman saw the report about the Mysterious Song and smiled.

Ch. 137Visitors to the Manor

As Gotham’s young heroes settled into a calmer routine, Bruce prepared Wayne Manor for a private visit from Clark Kent and his family. Miaomiao learned who was coming and grew eager to meet the Kents’ two superpowered sons.

  • Tim finished developing the Joker-Related Information Filter Software and finally had time to rest, easing tensions among the three young Bat-kids.
  • Dick warned Alfred that the children’s unusual quiet might mean they were hiding something, but Alfred said he trusted them, leaving Dick feeling guilty.
  • Bruce told Alfred that Clark Kent and his family would visit, and Alfred arranged ingredients for a dinner at Wayne Manor.
  • Miaomiao helped prepare cookie batter and asked Alfred why so many ingredients were being brought into the manor.
  • Alfred explained that Clark’s wife Lois was an ordinary human reporter and that their sons Conner and Jonathan had Kryptonian blood and superpowers.

Ch. 138No idea what to call this

The Wayne family anticipated the Kents’ visit, but Damian dismissed Superman as inefficient until Miaomiao showed him that small acts of kindness mattered to those they helped. Damian fled in embarrassment as Dick and Jason started scuffling and Tim nearly fell asleep at the table.

  • Miaomiao grew excited about meeting Superman and his family after Alfred and the others described them.
  • Damian insulted Superman, and Bruce and Alfred told him to mind his language and respect their ally.
  • Miaomiao asked Damian whether Superman’s small acts of help were trivial, then compared them to Damian rescuing animals as Robin.
  • Damian blushed and left to check whether the Kent Family had arrived.
  • Dick and Jason scuffled while Tim drowsily cheered them on, and Bruce watched the dining room’s chaos with a faint smile.

Ch. 139The Kent family

  • Alfred welcomed Clark, Lois, Conner, and Jon to Wayne Manor after they arrived by an unusual, economical route.
  • Clark introduced Lois and his sons, explaining that Conner was reserved and Jon was eager to meet Miaomiao.

  • The residents of Wayne Manor introduced themselves, and Damian declared himself the family's only legitimate heir.
  • Alfred offered the guests refreshments and pointed out the manor's activities for the boys.
  • Lois took her apple pie to the kitchen with Alfred, while Dick invited the children to walk in the garden.

Ch. 140Revealing Her Tail

Dick took the younger heroes into Wayne Manor’s backyard, where Little Jo and Conner met Miaomiao by the pool. Miaomiao revealed her blue-violet tail to Little Jo and explained that she was deep-sea Merfolk, leaving him convinced her kind was more amazing than the fairy-tale Little Mermaid.

  • Dick led the younger heroes outside, and Titus greeted Conner and Little Jo.
  • Little Jo stared at the pool because he had hoped to see a Little Mermaid, while Conner hid his own curiosity.
  • Miaomiao asked Little Jo if he wanted to see her tail, and he cautiously agreed.
  • Miaomiao jumped into the pool and transformed her legs into a shimmering blue-violet tail.
  • Miaomiao explained that she was deep-sea Merfolk and could speak and change between tail and legs.
  • Little Jo compared her to the fairy-tale Little Mermaid and concluded that Miaomiao’s Merfolk were even more amazing.

Ch. 141Damian, Jon, and Bat-Cow

Damian mocked Jon and struggled with Tim while the others tried to reassure Jon about the Bat Family’s rough behavior. When Bat-Cow became uncomfortable, Jon realized she needed milking, leaving Damian to rush inside and learn how to do it before returning with a bucket.

  • Damian belittled Jon’s knowledge of merfolk, and Tim threatened to show footage of Damian’s first reaction to Miaomiao before the two began fighting.
  • Dick and Miaomiao comforted Jon and explained that Damian was sharp-tongued but cared more easily for animals than people.
  • Bat-Cow wandered out of the pasture, and Miaomiao found that she was swollen rather than sick or injured.
  • Jon realized Bat-Cow needed milking, startling Damian, who rejected Jon’s offer to help and hurried into the house.
  • Tim and Conner left for the Teen Titans, while Dick and Jason headed to the training grounds; Damian returned carrying a bucket and claimed he now knew what to do.

Ch. 142The Three Little Ones

Damian struggled to milk Bat-Cow until Jon took over and calmed her. After seeing Jon's skill, Damian grudgingly praised him, and Miaomiao brought the boys together as friends.

  • Damian's clumsy milking upset Bat-Cow and left him with barely any milk in the bucket.
  • Jon offered to help, and Damian reluctantly gave up his place while insisting he had not asked for help.
  • Jon soothed Bat-Cow and milked her successfully, while Miaomiao praised him.
  • Damian checked Bat-Cow, then grudgingly told Jon he was good at milking.
  • Miaomiao joined Damian and Jon's hands in a handshake to make them friends, and Damian did not pull away.

Ch. 143Cookies vs. Apple Pie

Miaomiao, Jon, and Damian spent a warm afternoon at Wayne Manor, where talk of Krypto led to a friendly rivalry over the Wayne family’s cookies and the Kent family’s apple pie. After tasting both, Jon and Damian admitted they each liked the other family’s treat, just as the manor’s doorbell rang again.

  • Titus covered Miaomiao, Jon, and Damian with a blanket, and Jon told Damian about Krypto, the Kryptonian dog with superpowers.
  • Alfred invited the children inside for cookies and apple pie, prompting Jon and Damian to argue over which family’s treat was better.
  • Damian tasted the Kent apple pie while Jon tried the Wayne chocolate nut cookie, and both boys were pleasantly surprised.
  • Jon admitted that the Wayne cookies tasted good, and Damian conceded that the Kent apple pie was quite good.
  • The manor’s main entrance doorbell rang again.

Ch. 144Where are you keeping her?

Aquaman Arthur Curry visited Wayne Manor after hearing that Bruce had adopted a girl with a fish tail. He warned that the Fish-Man Kingdom might start a war if it discovered one of its children was stranded on the surface, then asked where Bruce was keeping her.

  • Bruce disabled Wayne Manor's defenses so Arthur could enter after he impatiently rang the doorbell.
  • Alfred welcomed Arthur and directed him to the sitting room, where Bruce, Clark, Lois, Miaomiao, Jonathan, and Damian were having afternoon tea.
  • Bruce asked Arthur why he had come, and Arthur said he had heard about Bruce adopting a girl with a fish tail.
  • Arthur admitted that Green Lantern had heard the news from Flash, who had heard it from Clark.
  • Arthur warned that the Fish-Man Kingdom might treat Miaomiao's presence on the surface as grounds for war and asked where Bruce was keeping her.

Ch. 145The dispute

Bruce, Clark, and Miaomiao tried to explain to Arthur that Miaomiao was a merfolk from another world, not a child from his ocean kingdoms. After seeing her fish tail, Arthur finally realized she was the girl everyone had been discussing.

  • Arthur accused Bruce of keeping a child from her ocean home and argued that she needed help mastering her powers.
  • Bruce and Clark explained that no child was missing from the Fish-Man Kingdom and that Miaomiao had nothing to do with Arthur’s ocean kingdoms.
  • Miaomiao suggested that they meant she had no connection to the oceans of this world.
  • Damian told Arthur that Miaomiao was a powerful merfolk from another world who did not need his protection, then corrected him about her name.
  • Miaomiao leaped into an empty aquarium and revealed her blue-violet fish tail, and Arthur recognized her as the Little Mermaid.

Ch. 146A Great Crisis in the Ocean Kingdoms?

Arthur told Bruce that someone had secretly watched Atlantis and several other ocean kingdoms four months earlier, and Bruce suspected Miaomiao might know something. Miaomiao revealed that she was probably the watcher, having searched the seas for Merfolk soon after arriving in this world.

  • Arthur explained that a hidden observer had been spotted near Atlantis and that other ocean kingdoms had also been watched around the same time.
  • Bruce asked when the sightings occurred, then told Arthur to ask Miaomiao about them.
  • Miaomiao remembered that four months earlier she had been swimming through the seas to search for this world's Merfolk.
  • Miaomiao apologized and admitted that she was probably the person who had watched the ocean kingdoms.
  • Miaomiao explained that she had found underwater cities and intelligent marine life but left because they were not Merfolk and she could not understand them.

Ch. 147I forgive you

Arthur learned that Miaomiao had secretly explored Atlantis while searching for Merfolk, and he forgave her. He offered to teach her about her ocean abilities, but Miaomiao demonstrated her control of water and promised to visit Atlantis.

  • Miaomiao apologized to Arthur for sneaking into Atlantis while searching for Merfolk in the unfamiliar world.
  • Arthur sympathized with Miaomiao’s loneliness and forgave her, then offered her a home in Atlantis.
  • Bruce reminded Arthur that the girl was named Miaomiao Wayne, and Arthur defended Atlantis as a place where she could learn to use her powers.
  • Miaomiao demonstrated her water manipulation and explained that it developed through a Merfolk’s blood, soul, and practice.
  • Arthur accepted Miaomiao’s decision and invited her to visit Atlantis, promising to find a friend to guide her.

Ch. 148This Would Make a Beautiful Dress

Arthur told Clark about his uncertain relationship with Mera and how she kept refusing his dates. Miaomiao gave Arthur a bolt of mermaid silk, which he accepted as a gift for Mera.

  • Arthur explained that he and Mera had feelings for each other, but she would not openly acknowledge their relationship.
  • Arthur recounted how he and Mera had defeated Orm and stopped the war between the ocean and the land, then described Mera turning down his attempts to date her.
  • Miaomiao left the group and returned with mermaid silk she had woven herself.

  • Arthur accepted the silk and said he thought Mera would love it.
