Si Ang was beside himself with worry at the sight of the unconscious Richie. He hurried forward, looked up, and asked:
"Sir, how is Richie? Is he all right?"
Yor came over to check on Richie too. "Richie doesn't seem to be in any danger, but Mr. Loid, what did the doctor say?"
Anya gazed at Richie as well, softly calling, "Big brother."
Twilight carefully tightened his arms around Richie. In a low voice, he said:
"The doctor said Richie is fine. He's just exhausted and fell asleep."
Twilight recalled how he had lost control when he arrived at the hospital earlier. He had even found it hard to believe the doctor.
He had grabbed the doctor by the collar and demanded to know why his child was like this.
He had never been so impulsive before.
Reading those thoughts in Twilight's mind, Anya couldn't help glancing at him. Their father had changed. He had grown attached to them.
Si Ang discreetly scanned Richie's body. There really were no additional injuries, but the deterioration inside his body had become more pronounced.
He was only six years old, yet his organs were nearing failure like those of a sixty-year-old.
Si Ang gazed somberly at Richie, sleeping peacefully in Twilight's arms. What was it that made Richie so determined to earn Stellas?
He had carefully observed how the Forger family interacted. They weren't strict; on the contrary, they were very warm. Nor had he seen anyone forcing Richie to earn Stellas.
Si Ang decided to become more involved in Richie's life and find out why he insisted on earning Stellas.
Only then could he address the root of the problem and stop Richie from using his innate ability, helping him live longer while Si Ang searched for medicine to treat him.
