Bai Yaoyao discovered that her space could keep food fresh, too. When she took out the leftover giant lobster after a long while, it was still hot, exactly as it had been when she put it in.

That discovery lifted Bai Yaoyao's spirits even further. This life wouldn't have to be so miserable.

Before leaving Australia, she remembered to stock up on local seafood specialties. She went straight to a local wholesale market and ordered two million US dollars' worth of seafood.

Especially lobster. Fat Brother loved it, and so did she.

As for salmon, black pomfret, yellowtail, abalone, squid, octopus, sardines, spanner crabs, coral crabs, king crabs, sea urchins, spotted babylon snails, scallops, and so on...

She bought plenty of everything, practically buying out the entire seafood market.

After having it delivered to a warehouse and making sure everyone had left, Bai Yaoyao put it straight into her space.

Next, she needed to buy some cooked seafood. Her culinary skills extended to cooking instant noodles with an egg, so ingredients alone were no use.

Her brothers' cooking skills were about on par with hers. As long as it was cooked, it was fine-though whether they could actually cook it through was another matter. Apart from roasting meat in the wilderness, none of them could cook anything. They were all used to their master feeding them.

So she went straight to the hotel where Fat Brother had eaten and ordered ten thousand servings of giant lobster and ten thousand servings of mixed seafood.

Everything else could wait until she returned home. When it came to food, if Huaguo claimed second place, no one would dare claim first.

Then she drove off to buy a hundred thousand tubs of lanolin cream, thirty thousand sweaters, thirty thousand fur coats, thirty thousand pairs of insulated boots, and thirty thousand quilts.

In the second year of the apocalypse, temperatures had plummeted, dropping as low as minus sixty or seventy degrees Celsius. All of these things had become lifesaving necessities. Never mind reaching out to fight zombies-just sticking a hand out was difficult.

Fortunately, as their abilities leveled up, people's resistance to heat and cold improved considerably.

She also bought a hundred thousand tins of Australian infant formula. It might be intended for babies, but nobody had said big babies couldn't drink it. Anything that provided nutrition was hard currency during the apocalypse.

Since she happened to be in Australia, it would be a shame not to bring back some local specialties.

Once everything was stored in her space, Bai Yaoyao frowned slightly at the supplies scattered haphazardly inside.

She took out her phone, opened 1988, and placed orders with five different stores for ten thousand industrial-grade stainless steel warehouse shelving units each.

She specified the same design for all of them: seven meters long, fifty centimeters wide, five meters high, with six shelves. Standard delivery would take about a month, while rush delivery would cost quite a bit extra. Bai Yaoyao worked out the timing. It was about right; she would be back home by then and could receive the orders. She skipped the rush option and promptly paid the deposits.

Feeling thoroughly satisfied, she boarded a flight to R Country.

Bai Yaoyao was dressed like a student, with her hair in a bun and a little rabbit hair clip on top. She looked sweet and adorable.

After arriving, Bai Yaoyao took a taxi straight to Sato Company's new product launch. She had learned online that Shinichi Sato would be attending that day.

She planned to join the crowd and see if she could find an opportunity to finish the job.

As soon as she reached the entrance, she spotted Shinichi Sato stepping out of a car. Bai Yaoyao's eyes lit up. That car is fucking gorgeous!

It was a Mercedes-Benz S-Class bulletproof car modified by Alpine Armoring. Just looking at it was a thrill, but its price was spectacular, too. Bai Yaoyao, who worked hard for every penny she earned, couldn't bear to spend that much on one.

After admiring it to herself for a moment, Bai Yaoyao followed the crowd inside. The launch hadn't started yet, so Shinichi Sato was probably in the VIP lounge.

It took Bai Yaoyao a while to find the place. She knocked out a waitress delivering drinks, changed into her uniform, disguised herself a little, and entered the lounge while avoiding the surveillance cameras.

She laced all the tea with lethal poison. Bai Yaoyao had always believed that being an assassin didn't mean fighting and killing head-on every day. It was better to solve a problem with her brain when she could.

Bai Yaoyao entered, set down the drinks, and gave Shinichi Sato, seated at the head of the room, a perfectly natural, sweet look.

Shinichi Sato gave her a wicked smile, deliberately pausing as he lifted his teacup. "Come find me when you're finished."

Bai Yaoyao nodded shyly. Watching Shinichi Sato drink an entire cup of poison, she couldn't help thinking, This bastard is way too fucking easy to kill. Six hundred million in the bag.

Before the bodyguards could react, she struck first. All four died beneath Bai Yaoyao's blade before they could even call for backup. She grabbed the car keys while she was at it, hoping to snag a bonus.

After cleaning up the traces and sending Wang Fugui a photo of Shinichi Sato, she slipped into her space. What kind of idiot wouldn't use an ability they had? Bai Yaoyao enjoyed a peaceful lunch.

Then she practiced her ability for a while. Although her space had mutated, her ability was still only level one. Without crystals, she couldn't level it up, but she could improve her proficiency.

Bai Yaoyao was thoroughly familiar with this process. It felt as though she had barely practiced before night had fallen.

She changed into black clothes, put on a mask and cap, left her space, and slipped outside. Seeing the Alpine Armoring car still parked by the roadside, she smiled. A little extra income.

Shinichi Sato's death had probably thrown everyone into a panic, leaving them no time to worry about it.

She took out the keys, got into the car, and drove away.

Once she reached the outskirts, where there were no surveillance cameras, she took herself and the car into her space and enjoyed a good night's sleep.

The next day.

Bai Yaoyao changed into a new outfit and began her shopping spree.

Wang Fugui had already transferred the remaining payment. For some reason, he had even added another two hundred million.

Her personal account alone now held 1.6 billion. She had spent nearly seventy million in Australia, but she still had her master's five hundred million US dollars. That should be enough to stock up.

Just then, her phone rang.

Wang Fugui.

"Miss Assassin, you're fucking amazing! You said you'd take the job the day before yesterday, and Sato was dead in less than a day!" Wang Fugui shouted.

Bai Yaoyao couldn't help holding the phone farther away.

"You paid me an extra two hundred million!"

"Haha, you deserved it! Beautiful work. Are you still in R Country? There's another job. You-"

Bai Yaoyao cut him off. "No time. Not taking it."

"The payment is one billion!"

"Let's hear it." Bai Yaoyao blushed.

Delighted, Wang Fugui said, "Blow up the Yasukuni Shrine!"

Bai Yaoyao was speechless. This kid was really... really patriotic.

Still, she was pretty interested in the job herself. Definitely not because of that measly billion. Definitely not.

"I'll take it," Bai Yaoyao said.

"Hahahaha! That's our number-one assassin! Fucking awesome!" Wang Fugui said happily.

Bai Yaoyao hung up immediately. After a moment's thought, she called Xiaomi. Xiaomi operated in Southeast Asia year-round and should have the right connections.

"Sister Yao!"

"Can you get me a Caz287 Bomb? I'm in R Country." Hearing Xiaomi's voice, Bai Yaoyao felt as though a missing piece of her heart had suddenly returned.

In her previous life, Xiaomi hadn't awakened an ability. When zombies surrounded them, rather than become a burden to everyone, Xiaomi had charged into the horde with a bomb and died along with the zombies.

Everyone was alive now! It was wonderful!

"Holy shit, Sister Yao, what are you planning?! That explosion is no joke! How are you going to get away without helicopter support? It doesn't even have a timer!" Xiaomi exclaimed.

"Don't worry. I have a way," Bai Yaoyao replied.

"1019 Ida Avenue. Head over and give them my name. You don't need to pay; they owe me their lives." Hearing Bai Yaoyao's calm tone, Xiaomi stopped worrying. Sister Yao was even better at keeping herself safe than Fat Brother. She would be fine.
