Ye Fei checked the materials he had, quickly bought some iron ore and beast bone, and crafted one batch to test its effects.

Ye Fei opened the home control interface, selected a Wooden Fence that had not yet been attacked, and used it.

All its attributes had increased by 50%, and the fence's appearance had changed considerably too.
The original meter-high fence of crisscrossed wood had become a wooden wall twenty centimeters thick and 1.2 meters tall. A dozen or so bone spikes protruded from one side, each coated in a thin layer of iron.
Though it still looked rather fragile, Ye Fei was pleased to see the damage reflection effect. At least it would no longer just take damage without fighting back.
After making the adjustment, Ye Fei watched the Fox Wolves' destruction slow rapidly, with small amounts of reflected damage floating up as they lost health. Satisfied, he went to buy more materials.
Given the crafting time, he only bought enough for fifty batches.
Five hundred pieces of iron ore cost fifty points. Beast bone was slightly more expensive, with 250 pieces costing 125 points.
He still had plenty of timber. After adjusting the crafting queue, Ye Fei resumed operating the repeating crossbow, aiming and firing Heavy Crossbow Bolts again and again as he locked onto his next target.
Each batch took one minute. Whenever a batch of Enhancement Materials was finished, he took it out and used it, slowing the Fox Wolves' destruction of the surrounding fences more and more.

That sudden drop in quality made Ye Fei feel that Beast Essence Stones were actually pretty good...
Standing on the roof, he fired Heavy Crossbow Bolts from the Wind Spirit Repeating Crossbow again and again, shooting down the trapped Fox Wolves one after another.
The longer he used it, the more comfortable he became. By the time he reached the last Fox Wolf, the leader, Ye Fei could basically land every bolt on its body. His chances of piercing it kept rising, and he even managed two consecutive piercing shots twice.
Granted, this was largely because only one Fox Wolf remained, confined to a tiny area with no room to move. Whichever side it slammed into, the reinforced Wooden Fences would scrape it.
Even if each scrape only shaved off a sliver of health, enough of them were still effective.

Fifty points were credited to him. Together with the seventy-seven points from the eleven Fox Wolves, he had earned over a hundred points.
Although the worn-down Wooden Fences and the reinforcement materials used afterward had already cost more than those earnings, he had gained other things too. Overall, he felt he had not lost out.
"That'll do. I'll reinforce one full ring first."
Ye Fei used all the Enhancement Materials he had crafted on the Wooden Fences. After accounting for what he had already used, he still had enough to reinforce another complete ring.
Aside from the points he had received and the few Random Treasure Chests he had opened earlier, he had left the later chests in his inventory for now, since he had stopped getting good items from them.
His inventory now held six Random Treasure Chests and one special Event Treasure Chest.

Once the attackers were gone, Little Fox cautiously climbed out through the window, made her way onto the roof, and sidled up beside Ye Fei.
After Ye Fei picked her up, she gave a cry, and Little White Tiger came running out too, wobbling over to nuzzle against him.
They had not been allowed to join the battle, leaving both little dumplings rather dejected.
"Be good. At times like that, safety comes first."
Ye Fei stroked the two little ones' heads, placed them on his shoulders, and began opening the remaining Random Treasure Chests.
After opening the chests one after another, Ye Fei obtained several pleasantly surprising items.

It still was not much, but it would keep growing little by little.
He had exactly two Beast Essence Stones, so Little Fox and Little White Tiger ate one each. Although neither had advanced yet, there would be more and more stones in the future.
He listed the beast sinew and intermediate leather for sale as well. Their prices had barely changed.
Only the Faucet remained. Ye Fei examined it and found that it was classified as furniture.
Previously, even washing his hands meant rubbing them in the snow or using bottled water. Now that he had a Faucet, he could finally consider a few other possibilities.
For instance, he could take a bath every now and then.
