Junlin told Izuna that he was his son and led him to the study to explain his birth. Meanwhile, Yanbai secretly investigated Itachi’s home, but Itachi sensed someone outside his room and quietly checked the door.
Junlin told Izuna a fabricated account of his parentage and childhood, portraying himself as Tobirama’s mistreated child and Yanbai’s son. Izuna believed the story enough to ask to meet Junlin’s brothers, while Junlin directed him to visit during the day.
Yanbai tested whether young Itachi was the old acquaintance he remembered by speaking to him in unfamiliar languages and feigning distress. Itachi comforted him but did not reveal whether he understood, leaving Yanbai suspicious after he noticed Itachi react when he hugged Mikoto.
Yanbai visited Mikoto to learn about Itachi, then returned to find that Junlin had revealed his origins to Izuna. Izuna decided to stay in the world and make up for the fatherly love Junlin had missed.
Yanbai ate breakfast Junlin had prepared while Izuna urged him to spend more time with the child, leaving Yanbai to reflect on Junlin’s childhood and his uncertain search for a Hokage successor. After breakfast, Junlin accompanied Yanbai outside.
Yanbai and Izuna reconciled over their reactions to discovering their children, and Izuna decided to stay with Junlin before helping search for the passage to the moon. As Izuna watched Junlin work, he learned how hard his son had studied and admitted that Yanbai had raised everyone’s standards for choosing a partner.
Junlin explained to Izuna how Yanbai had shaped people’s romantic standards and recalled how Lady Mito had loved and cared for Yanbai. Izuna decided to help Yanbai resolve the matter on the moon, while Rin Nohara nervously faced the crowd at the Hot Springs Bathhouse.
At the bathhouse retreat, Rin Nohara’s anxiety made her misread her classmates’ friendly efforts to include her as a threat. After the girls planned a group game and said they would invite Obito Uchiha, Rin resolved to hide after dinner.
Rin Nohara hid in the men's restroom to avoid being taken back to camp, where Obito Uchiha discovered her and helped her leave before anyone else noticed. Their classmates then misunderstood Rin's accidental collision with Obito as a romantic encounter, leaving her desperately trying to explain.
After Rin Nohara struggled with the social pressure and misunderstanding during her school trip, Jiraiya sought Yanbai’s advice on her upbringing and the Ninja Academy. Yanbai agreed to recommend more practical training and announced that he would personally teach each class every month.
Yanbai turned his boredom into a plan to teach practical classes at the Konoha Ninja Academy, using his dōjutsu to create immersive training worlds. He persuaded Obito Uchiha to test the course, and the chapter ended with Yanbai presenting him an agreement to sign.
Muye and Silver Moon suspected that a rose-scented relative of their mother was in their father's other world, while discussing whether their mother should be allowed to leave. Meanwhile, Obito Uchiha endured Granny Hokage's simulated trial of a brutal war and could no longer tell whether it was a dream or reality.
Obito helped an injured Rin during their rain-soaked mission and challenged Kakashi’s belief that missions mattered more than comrades. After Rin admitted how badly she hurt, Obito carried her onward to search for medicinal herbs, with Kakashi following.
Madara Uchiha met Yae Miko, Yanbai’s mother in this world, after following her invitation to the Grand Narukami Shrine. He told her Yanbai was imprisoned and asked her to find Yanbai’s Incarnation, then unexpectedly asked for Yanbai’s hand in marriage; Yae Miko asked him to explain their history.
Yae Miko listened as Madara Uchiha recounted his past with Yanbai, then explained that their worlds were game worlds overseen by her family. Madara was left struggling with the possibility that his life had been written for him.
Yae Miko explained to Madara Uchiha how Yanbai’s dōjutsu had altered their destinies and revealed that her family included people who had married an NPC, a virus, and a program. Meanwhile, Obito Uchiha grew hardened by repeated battlefield deaths and resets, then followed the Zetsus’ scheme to meet Grandpa Madara.
Obito Uchiha met this world's Madara Uchiha and pitied him for not having a wife, then offered to tell him a story. Elsewhere, Yae Miko and the children learned Yanbai was trapped in his Virtual World and discussed a possible way to help him.
Obito Uchiha used his Sharingan to show the elderly Madara an imagined parallel world where the Uchiha prospered and a woman called Hokage Grandma shaped Konoha. Madara became intrigued by the woman and asked to meet her.
Madara Uchiha brought Muye and Silver Moon to meet Yae Miko, who was with Yanbai’s younger siblings in their incarnations. Meanwhile, Obito Uchiha tried to earn the elderly Madara’s trust by revealing that the clan’s stone tablet was fake and offering to explain the Eye of the Moon plan.
After dying repeatedly in the Practical Class, Obito Uchiha changed his approach, learned from Madara, and explored the Shinobi World before completing the course. He thanked Yanbai afterward, and Sasori asked to try the Practical Class too.
Yanbai heard Yae Miko’s story about a severed Tree Spirit branch growing into a separate continuation and understood her attempt to spare both him and Madara Uchiha; he asked to meet her. He then told Muye and Silver Moon about his former world, and their conversation ended with Silver Moon questioning whether Yanbai was Greater Lord Rukkhadevata.
Muye and Silver Moon feared Yanbai might disappear like Greater Lord Rukkhadevata, while Yanbai privately considered Mother’s plan to escape his confinement by vanishing from that world. Sasori then emerged from the lounge hungry and insisted Yanbai accompany him without looking or listening.
After graduating Shinobi students beat up Hiruzen Sarutobi, Shimura Danzō, Mitokado Homura, and Utatane Koharu, Yanbai identified them as the victims of the students’ practical class. He explained the class’s setting and compensated the four, who accepted the explanation and let the matter go.
Asuma Sarutobi was brought before Hiruzen Sarutobi as the student who had attacked him during Yanbai’s illusion-based practical class. Asuma explained that the students’ anger came from experiences shaped by Hiruzen’s and the other elders’ choices in the illusion, and he had stepped forward to help them process it; before he could explain further, he was caught.
After Asuma Sarutobi settled the compensation dispute, Yanbai turned Izuna’s request to find the moon’s Transfer Station into a mission for the graduating class. Meanwhile, the anomalous Uchiha Itachi was confronted by reborn Uchiha students and realized Yanbai might be testing him.
