Background / History
Galacta is Galactus's daughter and has visited numerous planets. She developed transformation technology to adapt her appearance to worlds whose inhabitants do not have human forms. Despite her youthful appearance, she possesses extensive technological knowledge and is much older than the humans she encounters 32 40.
Unlike her father, Galacta refuses to disregard inhabited worlds. She explicitly rejects consuming Earth because of its many living beings. When Mercer meets her, she devours an enormous mass of Slime but remains hungry; he persuades her to stay with him by offering something tasty, then supplies her with condensed Lightning Orbs 32 33.
Appearance
Galacta has a petite build, purple hair, and a youthful face. Her original outfit closely resembles Galactus's attire, allowing Mercer to suspect her parentage before she introduces herself 32 37.
- Height: Approximately 160 centimeters 39.
- Original clothing: An all-purple outfit and a distinctive cylindrical hat with two points 32.
- Earth clothing: Denim shorts and a white shirt, with her purple hair tied into a high ponytail; she praises the outfit's comfort and style 37.
- Infiltration disguise: An ordinary-looking face and student clothing similar to Mercer's, supplied for their school mission 40 41.
Personality
Galacta is an enthusiastic food lover who enjoys both ordinary meals and pure energy. She treats Mercer's Lightning Orbs like candy and initially welcomes news of a summoned dimensional being as an opportunity to eat something delicious. However, she resents being reduced to her appetite: when Mercer offers food as payment for rescuing civilians, she challenges his lack of trust in her compassion 33 35 44.
She is playful, curious, and easily bored. Because she does not need sleep, she wanders outside her room at the Sanctum and secretly watches Mercer experimenting with his cards. His illusions entertain her enough that she insists on continuing their training throughout the night 34.
Although technically brilliant, she is comparatively innocent in social dealings and enjoys Mercer's flattery. She also insists on being treated as an equal, objecting when he orders her around like a servant and retaliating when he jokes about her age 40 41.
Abilities & Skills
Consumption of Matter and Energy
Galacta can consume enormous quantities of material by converting them into a stream of energy, and she can eat condensed energy directly 32 33.
- Devours a mountain-sized mass of Slime in less than ten seconds without any visible swelling of her stomach, yet still finds it insufficient 32.
- Regularly eats Lightning Orbs created through Mercer's Rumble-Rumble Fruit ability 33 40 41.
- Eats ordinary human food before her greater hunger takes hold, including toast, milk, and nuts 35.
Cosmic Energy
Her power originates from the universe and manifests as purple energy. Mercer can draw on it to fuel spells from the Book of the Vishanti 45.
- Supplies the energy supporting Boundless Lockdown, which encloses the gymnasium during the Great Old One incident 45.
- Her energy can readily convert into the magical power required by Vishanti's Technique; Mercer's Rumble-Rumble Fruit and Blacklight Virus energy cannot directly serve that purpose 45.
- Provides energy without casting the spell herself 45.
Strength, Speed, and Durability
Galacta withstands Mercer's magical training attacks without injury and moves fast enough to seize or evacuate people almost immediately 36 37 39 45.
- Effortlessly catches an enormous dark-gold block from Four-Sided Suppression, then breaks free after all four blocks close around her 36.
- Remains unharmed while Mercer tests approximately twenty spells during their sparring session 37.
- Lifts the much taller Hydra infiltrator Vermier by the neck and prevents him from moving 39 40.
- Carries Peter Parker outside the endangered gymnasium and immediately returns to Mercer 45.
- Does not require sleep 34.
Mental Resistance
Galacta possesses godlike mental strength, but this does not prevent every illusion from initially catching her 34.
- Mercer's one-tomoe Sharingan can place her in illusions, but cannot seriously affect her mind; she experiences them as harmless entertainment 34.
- Remains unaffected by the magical intimidation of Vishanti's Law, Punishment 35.
Knowledge and Combat Learning
Galacta claims that little knowledge on any planet in the universe can stump her. Her demonstrated expertise includes alien technology and rapid acquisition of fighting techniques 36 40.
- Adopts textbook American military combat movements during sparring 36.
- Says she needs only a few glances to learn Earth's fighting techniques 36.
- Invents a transformation device beyond what Stark has managed to create 40.
- Her knowledge is not absolute: Mercer's Susanoo surprises her, and she has never encountered anything like it in the universe 47 48.
Energy Detection
Galacta senses the energy radiating from Hydra's machine and directs Mercer to the gymnasium containing the Tesseract 42.
- Locates the source from within the school grounds when S.H.I.E.L.D. cannot pinpoint its exact position 42.
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Transformation flashlight: A palm-sized device of her own invention that changes its user's body and appearance. She demonstrates dozens of alien forms, including wooden, stone, and beast lifeforms. Its ordinary human disguise initially leaves her figure unchanged 40.
- Loan to Mercer: She lends him the flashlight in exchange for tasty food and permits him to lend it to others. She refuses Stark's direct offer of money because Earth's currency does not interest her 41.
Relationships
- Galactus — Father. Galacta distinguishes her respect for living beings from his willingness to devour inhabited planets 32.
- Alex Mercer — Companion and combat partner who supplies her with Lightning Orbs. She helps test his abilities, powers his magic, and assists his plans while resisting treatment as a subordinate 33 34 40 44 45.
- The Ancient One — Initially hosts Galacta at the Sanctum and witnesses her sparring with Mercer. Galacta later helps Mercer expose the Ancient One's assassination scheme 34 36 48 49.
- Tony Stark — Admires her technological expertise and seeks access to her transformation flashlight; she rejects his direct purchase offer 40 41.
- Peter Parker — Encounters him during the school infiltration and evacuates him when the Great Old One's tentacles emerge 41 43 45.

- Spars with him as he experiments with the Book of the Vishanti, demonstrating that his newly learned magic cannot meaningfully injure her 36 37.

- Disguises herself as a student and infiltrates First High School with Mercer 40 41.

- Evacuates Peter and supplies cosmic energy for the containment spell after tentacles emerge from the portal 45.
- Respects Mercer's request to fight alone, but prepares to intervene when the tentacles become more dangerous. He again asks her to stay back before unveiling Susanoo 46 47.
Exposing the Ancient One
- Helps Mercer arrange the battlefield and stage his apparent death after he closes the portal 48.
- Reveals herself alongside him after their concealment deceives the Ancient One into exposing her plans 49.
- After Mercer sends the Ancient One into the Great Old One's lair, eagerly plans to share the severed tentacles with him 50.
