Inside the pavilion, people stood in small groups, murmuring among themselves.
"I heard this ancient tomb is less than five hundred li from the Primordial Ancient Mine?"
"That's right. It's a peculiar stretch of terrain that hasn't changed in tens of thousands of years. There was nothing remarkable about it."
"But a strange fat Daoist discovered it, then fled as though he'd gone mad, saying he'd spent his whole life digging up tombs, only to apparently dig up his own."
"What? His own tomb?"
"Isn't that fellow just a lunatic?"
"You can say that again!"
More and more people joined the discussion. Even Yan Wushuang and Yang Wuzheng pricked up their ears.
Yet no matter what they said, many kept glancing toward the private room's doorway.
Their eyes shone with anticipation.
Suddenly-
Creak!
The door opened, and every gaze swung toward it.
The first thing they saw was a small, fair foot just stepping over the threshold.
That little foot was white tinged with pink, like a smooth piece of white jade, small enough to cup in one hand.
Its five slender toes tilted slightly upward, like five exquisite little jade-colored sprites standing side by side, teasing one another.
At that sight, everyone fell silent at once.
Their eyes rounded as they stared straight at the fair little foot in the doorway. Several people swallowed instinctively.
Temptation!
A single jade-like foot was enough to send their imaginations running wild.
Even the Tianquan Saint's eyes widened considerably. Beneath his sleeve, his hand instinctively curled around empty air, as though holding that little foot.
Beside him, Yan Wushuang and Yang Wuzheng were even more dazed.
Yan Wushuang, in particular, stared with perfectly round eyes, as though he had glimpsed a beauty beyond description. His blood surged through his body like dragons and elephants locked in combat.
Although Yang Wuzheng's eyes did not widen, ripples stirred in his usually tranquil gaze, untouched by worldly strife.
It was as though starlight shimmered within them.
The image of that mortal girl rose in everyone's heart, and they instinctively stared, transfixed.
Tap!
A soft sound rang out as her foot touched the floor.
Like fine jade striking water, it sent waves through their hearts.
Next came a long, fair leg, revealed all the way to just above its rounded, gently curved knee.
Layers of white gauze suddenly fell, half concealing that beautiful, white-jade leg.
The sight immediately made several people tilt their heads, as though hoping to glimpse something through the gaps in the gauzy skirt.
Many secretly swallowed yet again.
Even the Tianquan Saint and Yan Wushuang did the same.
That jade-like foot and lovely leg stepping over the threshold gave their imaginations endless room to roam.
Even the serene, composed Yang Wuzheng's breathing grew a little uneven.
Tap!
Another sound, like a jade foot striking water, rang out, and the girl in a long white gauze dress appeared fully before them.
The white dress fit her perfectly. Its hem ended ten inches above her ankles, exposing the lower halves of her fair calves and her delicate, jade-like feet.
The dress billowed softly, its shimmering ribbons fluttering and dancing with a faint radiance.
In the ample light, her hips looked exceptionally rounded.
Like a jade platter turning and swaying, the curve suddenly drew inward to a slender waist, narrow as the neck of a jade vase and small enough to encircle with one hand.
It seemed to sway with the breeze, stirring fanciful thoughts.
The peaks of her chest stood high, tightly enclosed by the fitted fabric.
At her neck, however, her collarbones were half exposed. Playful as sprites, strands of black hair brushed them again and again, unwilling to leave.
Her lotus-root-white arms rested quietly at her sides beneath the gauze.
At the sight, the entire pavilion fell eerily silent.
Everyone was captivated by that enchanting view, not even daring to breathe loudly.
Then her lovely face came into view.
Her red lips were lightly pressed together, her delicate nose tipped upward. Its straight bridge separated a pair of cool, bright eyes.
They pierced straight into the heart, stirring towering waves.
Her long hair was loosely gathered and fell from the back of her crown, making her face look extraordinarily fair and beautiful.
Wisps of hair brushed her face, sometimes teasing the tip of her nose, sometimes caressing her jade-like cheeks.
Only upon seeing that cool, flawless face did everyone awaken as though from a dream, drawing sharp breaths again and again.
Dressed in women's clothes and lightly adorned, that mortal girl looked like a fairy descended from the nine heavens.
"So beautiful!"
"Ah... what a beauty!"
"To see such a beauty, even dying right now would be worth it!"
Some gasped, while others sighed aloud, their gazes roaming unabashedly over her face.
"This is that mortal girl?"
The Tianquan Saint clenched his fists beneath his sleeves. Intense jealousy suddenly rose in his heart: Yan Wushuang and Yang Wuzheng actually had such a beauty accompanying them.
At least in the Eastern Wasteland, among the seven great Holy Lands, the three great clans, and even the lesser clans, he had never seen anyone whose looks or figure surpassed the girl before him.
Even the Demon Race, famed for its unrivaled allure, paled before this cool, aloof girl.
She was clearly aloof, yet possessed an indescribable charm.
Her figure was clearly delicate, yet possessed an indescribable, bewitching allure.
And it was an allure beyond the mundane world, seductive without losing its pure elegance.
With her quiet bearing, she was like a peerless green lotus blooming in the mist-shrouded Immortal Pool, swaying with exquisite grace.
Enchanting and beautiful, she left no room for even the slightest profane thought.
Yet she branded herself upon their hearts, leaving not a single detail they could forget.
Tap, tap, tap...
Ignoring everyone's gazes, Li Qingyue walked toward Yan Wushuang and Yang Wuzheng on her fair bare feet.
This was a treasure garment, warm in winter and cool in summer, untouched by even a speck of dust. Divine light gently caressed its snowy, sacred fabric.
Even walking barefoot, she would not pick up the slightest filth.
"This one, then!"
Li Qingyue's clear voice rang through the pavilion like the tinkling flow of a mountain stream.
Yan Wushuang snapped out of his daze. He grinned foolishly at Li Qingyue and said, "Good. It looks good!"
Yang Wuzheng also nodded gently. Ripples shimmered in his eyes as he studied Li Qingyue, and he could not help saying, "Slowly the radiant moon rises, gracefully a hundred blossoms sway, softly the starlight gathers-all to form a fairy's face."
"Excellent!"
Listening to their words and their pounding heartbeats, Li Qingyue silently rolled her eyes.
So what if I'm pretty? I'm not yours.
You're all dreaming of the impossible, aren't you?
"Hmph!"
With a soft snort, Li Qingyue turned and headed outside.
Her delicacy and beauty, even with that air of aloofness, made every heart in the pavilion pound wildly.
But Yan Wushuang's foolish grin and Yang Wuzheng's faint smile both froze.
"What's going on? Why does it feel like she's angry again?"
Yan Wushuang looked at Yang Wuzheng and asked in bewilderment, "But I gave her a present! Thirty thousand jin of source stone!"
Yang Wuzheng pressed his lips together, a trace of confusion flashing through his eyes as well.
But when he remembered that half of those thirty thousand jin of source stone had come from him, his temper flared again.
We both contributed, so why do you insist on saying you gave it to her?
At that thought, Yang Wuzheng said irritably, "Figure it out yourself!"
With that, he turned and followed Li Qingyue.
"Again? If I could figure it out, why would I ask you?"
"Are we brothers or not?"
"Can't you just explain it clearly?"
After muttering a few complaints, Yan Wushuang paid the source stone and hurried after them.
Only after that stunningly beautiful figure disappeared did everyone dare to take deep breaths.
Their expressions were filled with shock and wonder.
It was as though they had seen a true immortal.
Especially that fairy's enchanting beauty the instant she stepped through the doorway, brimming with countless charms.
It had already been branded into their hearts.
"She's gone, and you're still looking?"
The Tianxuan Saintess came to the Tianquan Saint's side and spoke softly.
Yet her words struck his ears like a thunderclap, making him jolt.
Then, looking utterly bereft, he said, "She's gone?"
