Background / History
Jiang Linxian was a famed Huaqing Sect prodigy whose reputation as the Jiangdong Sword Immortal preceded her arrival in Clear River. She raised her only daughter, Jiang Yan, alone after her wife died, and never remarried. Her swordsmanship and status made even powerful local factions eager to establish a connection with her. 56 94
While pursuing the Ghost Underworld Sect, Jiang tracked the Immortal Treasure they had stolen and treated the sect's members as little more than “fleas.” Her investigation culminated in the destruction of the Ghost Underworld Sect's Clear River branch: she slew Ten Thousand Ghosts Old Mother and later used Seventh Form Sword Qi to eliminate the sect's remaining force. 64 83 98
She served as Huaqing Sect's envoy for the Clear River entrance competition, though Jiang Yan initially had to ensure that she attended. At the competition, Jiang evaluated candidates by potential rather than present strength and adhered closely to the sect's rules. 91 94
The Emperor later installed Jiang as military adviser to the Anning Guard, placing her in political opposition to Garrison General Cao Wei. She established authority immediately by beating Cao Wei and warning him to pursue the Ghost Underworld Sect without ulterior motives. Her faction used Anning Guard officers for intelligence gathering and to monitor Cao's activities. 113 120 123
Jiang personally handled threats beyond the Guard's ordinary capabilities. She killed the Ten Thousand Poison Ghost, ordered its head displayed in Qinghe City, and placed a bounty on the Four-Armed Demon Ghost. She also used her influence to protect and reward subordinates who resolved difficult matters for her, including Li Rui. 184 203
During the siege of Qinghe, Jiang revealed that she had entered the Earth Immortal realm. She intercepted and killed the Nine Souls Law King, ending the immediate threat behind the demon-beast invasion. Soon afterward, she left Clear River for the capital to take part in the World Martial Evaluation. 270 273
In the capital, Jiang became Deputy Director of the Imperial Astronomical Bureau and investigated the Fallen Immortal connected to the Immortal Disaster, unrest in the Witch Kingdom, and her wife's death. She later sent Jiang Yan to the Immortal Cultivation World for safety while she prepared to cultivate in seclusion and eventually confront Yellow Dragon Child. 381 464
After ascending to the Immortal Cultivation World, Jiang joined White Jade Capital and underwent a profound transformation. She revealed herself as the reincarnation of an Integrated Body Great Talent, then continued advancing until she attained the Dao Lord position through Luotian River's Dao Fruit. 602 795 809
Appearance
Jiang Linxian is usually described as a jade-like, strikingly attractive middle-aged woman with an immortal bearing and a sword carried at her back. Her appearance remains unusually youthful for her age and cultivation. 93 94 467

Personality
Jiang combines a carefree, wine-loving manner with extreme decisiveness. Jiang Yan considers her outwardly unreliable and prone to drinking, yet also knows that almost no one in Anning Prefecture can withstand even one of her strikes. 64
She is fiercely protective of Jiang Yan, deliberately slowing her daughter's cultivation to secure a stronger foundation and later placing her under Li Rui's command for protection and experience. 125 142
As a superior, Jiang is clear about rewards and punishments. She recognizes capable people, entrusts them with difficult assignments, and rewards effective service generously—most notably giving Li Rui immortal qi after he resolved the Jiang Baichuan affair. 202 204
Her exceptional talent also isolates her. She openly admits to feeling lonely because she has rarely encountered an equal within her realm or failed at something she truly intended to accomplish. 255
