Background

Tang Hao was regarded as an exceptional genius of the Clear Sky Sect. He became the youngest Titled Douluo in history, possessed a legendary 100,000-Year Ninth Spirit Ring, escaped a siege by multiple Spirit Hall Titled Douluo, and was credited with killing the previous pope, Qian Xunji 130.

His hostility toward Spirit Hall was rooted in the loss of his wife and the persecution of his family. After discovering an insulting message attributed to his grandfather Tang Chen, Tang Hao vowed that he and Spirit Hall would not coexist 106. His actions also contributed to the Clear Sky Sect sealing its mountain and withdrawing from public life 130.

Tang Hao is Tang San's father. He eventually revealed both his identity as a Titled Douluo and Tang San's Blue Silver Emperor bloodline, explaining that Tang San inherited the dormant bloodline from his mother 136 155.

His care is tempered by a stern, pragmatic outlook. He pressures Tang San to control his emotions, questions Yu Xiaogang's theories after Tang San's Blue Silver Grass mutates, and recognizes that temperament is as important as strength for surviving Slaughter City 155 206 207.

Tang Hao's hatred of Spirit Hall and Shi Quan makes him reckless. During his final battle, he underestimates Shi Quan's group, repeatedly detonates his Spirit Rings, and becomes vulnerable to psychological manipulation when Shi Quan invokes A Yin and Xiao Wu 227 228.

He and Tang San investigate Dugu Bo's Poison Array and discover the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. Tang Hao assists Tang San in harvesting immortal herbs from the site 141.

Blue Silver Emperor Investigation

After Shi Quan claims Tang San's Blue Silver Emperor bloodline has been damaged, Tang Hao examines Tang San and explains the nature of the dormant Blue Silver Emperor Spirit Soul. He searches for the Blue Silver King to verify Tang San's condition, but finds that it has disappeared 154 155.

Protection of Tang San

Tang Hao saves Tang San from Shi Nian and a mysterious attacker, then supports Tang San's rapid progression toward his Fourth Spirit Ring 163 165. When Tang San is exposed as a Fallen Spirit Master, Tang Hao storms Papal Hall, confronts Bibi Dong and several Titled Douluo, and escapes with Tang San 188.

Training and Flight

While wanted alongside his son, Tang Hao trains Tang San for a year in the Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer and prepares him for Slaughter City. He remains concerned that Tang San's anger and unstable temperament will lead him to ruin 206 207.

Assassination Attempt and Death

Believing Shi Quan's growing influence and Blue Silver Emperor awakening made him too dangerous to leave alive, Tang Hao follows Shi Quan's group into the Star Dou Great Forest to assassinate him and rescue Xiao Wu 225.

Tang Hao battles Shi Quan, Dugu Bo, Zhu Zhuqing, Ye Lingling, and Dugu Yan. Though he uses Ring Detonation to overpower their defenses, Shi Quan's Reincarnation ability devolves his Martial Soul Avatar and leaves him vulnerable 227 228.
