As mentioned before, Kaido and Charlotte Linlin were no fools. They had agreed to settle who would have the final say this way because they thought they could win. But after Xie Wen fought Kaido for a full day and night without showing any fatigue or falling much behind, Kaido was the one who called a halt to their duel.
Kaido and Charlotte Linlin even decided to concede outright without taking part in the remaining matches.
They could not even deal with Xie Wen easily. Even if Dragon's strength was within their expectations, getting past Red-Hair and Whitebeard would be no easy task either. And, as also mentioned before, they could not afford to spend too much time here.
So there was no point humiliating themselves in a contest they were almost certain to lose. Besides, as long as they could be sure that Uranus would not fall into another faction's hands either, they could still accept it.
