• Lü Er'an offered Isabella and Lilith a gold coin as a deposit and promised ten pounds if they caught rats at the Governor’s Mansion.
• Alger weathered a storm aboard the Azure Avenger, then prayed to Mr. Fool to tell Edward he was ready to explore the Primitive Island.
• Edward arrived before Alger, and the two discussed the scepter before setting out for the island using Alger’s coordinates.
• Alger and Edward agreed to focus on the ancient ruins and began crossing the island’s black forest, where they sensed powerful Beyonder creatures nearby.

• Edward stopped Alger from going farther until nightfall, then killed a group of black baboons and shared one of their Beyonder Characteristics with him.
• A sudden supernatural night brought the dead baboons back as zombies and revealed a giant Feathered Serpent, which Phoenix swiftly killed and from which Edward took the Undying Beyonder Characteristic.

• Klein considered Elland’s offer, then met Bilt and learned the admiral needed a double while he handled private business away from Bayam.
• Klein entered the Governor’s Mansion with Bilt, recognized Lilith among the children catching rats, and learned the mansion was still being repaired after pirates had damaged it.

• Klein questioned Roy King and Darkwill, who revealed that Darkwill’s pet owl had taken the item they were seeking.
• Klein found nothing suspicious among the prisoners’ belongings, then spoke with Admiral Amyrius’s mistress, who asked him to have a child with her.

After escaping a monster and discovering that Judith was restraining Krismona, Lilith and her companions found themselves in a strange, silent neighborhood where a pair of men approached.

• Klein questioned Lü Er'an about the prison-breaker and the missing owl, then learned that Cynthia had left the Governor's Mansion.
• Klein entered Cynthia's room to seek someone who could use divination, but a strange woman appeared and asked whether he was the new Lord of the Mysteries.
• A tree monster attacked Lilith, but black flames suddenly engulfed and killed it; Mr. Harry urged Lilith to flee.
• Judith revealed herself as Krismona's twin and said she was preventing Krismona from taking part in what came next, while two Demonesses surrounded Krismona.

Shanks and a middle-aged man attacked Lilith and Phoenix while Edward rushed across Bayam after finding the city mysteriously asleep. Edward encountered Christine, who revealed that the Mother Goddess of Depravity had come to save him and suggested Christine had been her from the beginning.

• Shanks asked the middle-aged man which target to kill, then howled and knocked Mr. Harry from the air as Lilith and Phoenix endured the pain.
• Phoenix summoned undead through the Death God's Ring and used them to defend Lilith while hoping Edward would arrive.
• Edward found Bayam's residents asleep and discovered that danger prevented him from entering the Spirit World, so he used a dowsing method to locate Lilith.

Christine revealed herself to Edward and began a game, while Edward and Lilith fled Suah’s attack through Bayam with help from Klein. Their escape ended when three Rose School demigods blocked their path and attacked.

• Beria, Zatwen, Kalaman, and Baranka attacked Edward, but he escaped their first assault with Lilith after unleashing a Lightning Storm and scattering Transfiguration doubles through the forest.
• Suah’s power exposed Edward and trapped him in black liquid, so he called on Christine, who rescued him and demanded that he bear her child.
• Edward returned to attack the Rose School members and summoned Christine’s power again, weakening Kalaman, Zatwen, and Beria before he struck them with curses and lightning.
• Suah turned its attention to Lilith, and Edward found himself unable to move as its black arms reached for her.

Edward faced the Transmigrator Senior, who confronted Cheek in the Astral World and revealed that Cheek had betrayed her to obtain godhood. Back on Blue Mountain Island, Christine demanded that Edward bear her a child, but Edward prepared a plan to counter her corruption and challenge her to a game.

• The girl told Cheek that she had traveled from the future to the past, and Cheek realized their earlier encounters had come from that journey.
• The girl said Edward was the reason Cheek could not kill her, then vanished toward the Astral World to find Cheek.
• Lilith recognized the girl as the person who had given Miss Lilith the Assassin Potion, while the Evernight Goddess observed the confrontation between Cheek and the girl.

• Lilith disappeared into a more distant past, leaving Edward devastated and uncertain whether she would survive or return.

• Edward chose Theft as the ability to use with Solidification and learned that the Sequence 3 Deconstruction Scholar ritual required deconstructing a story and bringing it into reality.
• Edward drew the weakened Degradation ability in advance and wondered how effectively it could reduce a target's sequence, strength, and other qualities.
• Edward realized his Secrets Sorcerer and Spirit Mage potions remained undigested and considered how secrets, memories, and spirit states might guide his acting.

Edward traveled back to 1160 and arrived in Trier, where he watched a young Roselle spend time with his daughter Bernadette. After learning that Roselle planned to sail for Solomon’s Legacy, Edward remained hidden in the garden and reflected on how early it still was in Roselle’s rise.

• Edward realized he had arrived nearly two hundred years in the past and wondered whether he could meet Roselle without disrupting the timeline.
• In Trier, Roselle entertained Bernadette with Pinocchio’s story, and she teased him about his broken promises.
