Background

Jiang Yi was born to the Heavenly Emperor with extraordinary Luck, a black vertical Great Dao Eye, and a frightening ability to devour others' power. Forget Dust Great Immortal foresaw that his birth would bring chaos to the Heavens when turmoil arose in the mortal world. Jiang Changsheng nevertheless instructed that the infant be named Yi. His power almost harmed his mother and frightened the Heavenly Court, while his father initially regarded him as ominous and kept his distance. 500

His childhood was marked by isolation. The Heavenly Palace became deserted as attendants and Heavenly Maidens feared his eye, leaving him lonely despite learning to control his ability. Jiang Tianming was assigned to care for him; their shared experiences of being feared as children allowed Jiang Yi to open up. Jiang Tianming also brought him to the Netherworld to meet Jiang Shan. 500

The Heavenly Emperor's search for cultivation methods from Jiang Changsheng transformed public opinion. Jiang Yi was soon recognized as the Heavenly Court's foremost prodigy, having received Dao techniques specially created for him and an inheritance connected to Jiang Shan. At fourteen, he entered seclusion; 1,200 years later, he used his Luck to create the Heavenly World. 501

Jiang Yi resembles the Heavenly Emperor and matures into a tall, handsome man with a straight posture. His defining feature is the vertical Great Dao Eye on his forehead: black with a pale pupil in infancy, later concealed as a thin black line. 500 502

Heavenly World and the Jiang Family Seven Sons

Jiang Yi entered the Heavenly World with Jiang Tianming, where his extraordinary aptitude made him a target for repeated Body Seizing attempts. During the Divine Weapon Heaven Domain incident, he absorbed the power of enemy geniuses, endured a Heavenly Tribulation, shattered the domain, and caused countless Divine Weapons to descend upon the Heavenly World. The Divine Sect Sword Ancestor subsequently praised Jiang Yi and his six companions as the Jiang Family Seven Sons. 502 503

Sea of Nether Passage and Zong Ku's Inner World

Seeking greater strength amid the coming Calamity, Jiang Yi left the Heavenly World with Tianji Xuanlao and entered the Sea of Nether Passage. He was eventually trapped in Zong Ku's Inner World, where he released his nature, fought Calamity Gods, forged a Calamity Body, and devoured the world's Rule Power. Dark Great Emperor and Atonement

Jiang Yi established the Dark Dynasty Court and became the feared Dark Great Emperor. Though remembered as a fiend, he accepted the role to establish order in the Endless Void and shoulder hatred that would otherwise hinder the Immortal Dao's development. He later endured prolonged punishment in the Eighteen Levels of Hell as atonement for the sins associated with his rule. 561 587 753

First Heavenly Dao Calamity

When Di Jue and Shi Yan drove the Great Luo Immortal Domain into Calamity, Jiang Yi revealed his identity to Jin Miaoyi and returned in his full battle form. He absorbed Karma, borrowed the Jiang Clan's Great Dao Eye power, and fought the Great Luo Transcendences alone to absorb the world's accumulated resentment into himself. Second Heavenly Dao Calamity and Sainthood

Jiang Yi's assault on the Dao Gate marked the beginning of the Second Heavenly Dao Calamity. He later infiltrated the War Sect and beheaded Ye Zhan. After the Great Powers were shown the truth of his life and sacrifices, Jiang Changsheng appointed him the Heavenly Dao Immortal Saint and Lord of Calamity. 727 753
