Ch. 201The buffet plan

Luo Shu’s buffet plan used a supposed hospital-body theft to direct Tokyo’s Ghouls toward food distributions, while he prepared to meet with the Metropolitan Police Department. At Anteiku, police briefly inspected the distribution, and Eto Yoshimura began a brutal selection among Ghouls at an abandoned warehouse.

Ch. 215First contact with Kurumi

Luo Shu, Natsuki Minamiya, and Suzuka Dairenji tried to capture Tokisaki Kurumi, but her clones and spatial powers turned the ambush into a chaotic fight. Luo Shu’s Calamity Bestowal drove Kurumi’s clones away, and the encounter ended with Kurumi wary of him and her clones suffering mysterious stomach pain.

  • Luo Shu offered Kurumi a place in SdS in exchange for an equal contract, but she refused to sign one.
  • Kurumi used a spatial quake to break Natsuki Minamiya’s barrier and send more clones into the room, but Luo Shu shot the first five and used Calamity Bestowal to force the others to retreat.
  • Luo Shu, Natsuki Minamiya, and Suzuka Dairenji withdrew, while Kurumi’s clones collapsed in pain and Kurumi decided to avoid Luo Shu and target Ghouls instead.

Ch. 216Black Reaper

After failing to capture one of Tokisaki Kurumi’s clones, Luo Shu discussed the Angel’s danger with Tachibana Kirika and Natsuki Minamiya, then devised a plan to lure her into the Secret Management Zone. The Ghoul extermination operation was nearly finished, and Luo Shu learned that the Metropolitan Police Department’s Warriors Corps had nicknamed him the “Black Reaper.”

  • Luo Shu told Tachibana Kirika that he and the others had failed to capture Tokisaki Kurumi’s clone or agree on cooperation.
  • Tachibana Kirika proposed that SdS members below club president rank withdraw from missions involving Tokisaki Kurumi, and asked Natsuki Minamiya to report on the Angel and assess a base barrier.
  • Luo Shu realized he could lure Tokisaki Kurumi into the Secret Management Zone, but he used a misleading gesture to warn Tachibana Kirika and Natsuki Minamiya that her twelve clones were watching them.
  • Natsuki Minamiya changed the subject to the Ghoul operation, and Tachibana Kirika said the forces at Sakuradamon were withdrawing after nearly routing the twenty thousand Ghouls.
  • Tachibana Kirika told Luo Shu that the Warriors Corps called him the “Black Reaper” for ordering the extermination of twenty thousand Ghouls during his debut battle.

  • Tachibana Kirika told Suzuka Dairenji that she would be sent from Onmyoryo to work as an intern at the Secret Management Department for two years, making Luo Shu her boss.
  • Suzuka Dairenji worried that the assignment would disrupt her planned business selling Luck-Changing Talismans, while Luo Shu welcomed the prospect of having a capable new subordinate.
  • Luo Shu, Tachibana Kirika, and Natsuki Minamiya discussed handling the operation’s aftermath, and Luo Shu joked with Tachibana Kirika about embezzling public funds.
  • The Nura Clan held its Nura Fireworks Festival across Tokyo’s twenty-three wards to cover the sounds of the ongoing fighting and help preserve the Common-Sense Society.
  • Luo Shu walked alone into a dim alley and found a figure waiting ahead, remarking that they had arrived quickly.

Ch. 218Kurumi's Composure Crumbled

  • Sharon arrived to meet Luo Shu, asked for paid leave, and agreed to spend Sunday afternoon with him.
  • Sharon revealed that she had captured a Tokisaki Kurumi clone, but Luo Shu deduced the clone had been created after his earlier fight with Kurumi.
  • Kurumi’s clones surrounded Luo Shu and Sharon, and Sharon admitted that Kurumi had altered her memories with an Abyssal Artifact.
  • Luo Shu trusted Sharon because he could sense through their Familia bond that she was not under Kurumi’s control, and Kurumi conceded that he and Sharon could take the clone.
  • Kurumi asked Luo Shu why his ability had caused her clones stomach pain, and he explained that he had transferred the pain from his lover.
  • Luo Shu revealed that the pain came from a lover who knew his body intimately, and Kurumi lost her composure after her clones suggested what he meant.

Ch. 219No girl will ever like you

Luo Shu negotiated with Tokisaki Kurumi after restraining her, letting her clones shoot him before they departed and leaving one Kurumi behind. He assigned the captive to work as a confined secretary at the Secret Management Department, then explained his only available restraining trick and earned her furious disapproval.

  • Tokisaki Kurumi demanded to withdraw her clones, but Luo Shu negotiated to keep one behind as a communication officer.
  • Tokisaki Kurumi’s clones fired thirteen shots into Luo Shu’s left leg, but he remained unharmed, and the clones departed with a warning that she would return.
  • Luo Shu told the remaining Tokisaki Kurumi that she would work as a secretary confined to the Secret Management Department’s base.
  • Luo Shu revealed that his crude ability had been his only available way to restrain Tokisaki Kurumi, prompting Sharon to keep her distance.
  • Tokisaki Kurumi told Luo Shu that no girl would ever like him.

Ch. 220So, about the funding...

After Operation Cleanup, officials agreed to conceal the Self-Defense Forces’ heavy casualties to preserve political support and funding. At Lycoris Cafe, Tachibana Kirika negotiated how to use the remaining Ghoul-operation funds with Luo Shu and Him, then raised the matter of Luo Shu’s newly recruited angel secretary.

  • Daichi Fujiwara learned that the Self-Defense Forces had suffered 117 deaths despite receiving accurate Ghoul intelligence, and that an earlier report concealed the true losses.
  • Akira Fukuda, Takayanagi Dōgen, and Director Ito explained that the Self-Defense Forces hid their casualties to maintain soldiers’ confidence and proposed inflating the number of Ghouls still at large.
  • Daichi Fujiwara agreed to cover up the losses after Akira Fukuda reminded him that the Self-Defense Forces could provide 300,000 votes each year.
  • At Lycoris Cafe, Luo Shu told Tachibana Kirika and Him that about 13.2 billion yen remained after paying for Ghoul modifications, and Him offered to handle the funeral industry arrangements.
  • Tachibana Kirika proposed reserving three billion yen for the Ghoul situation and using the rest for equipment, but Luo Shu argued that he could suppress Abyssal Artifacts himself.
  • Tachibana Kirika withheld the agreed Abyssal Artifacts and equipment until Luo Shu proved his method worked, then asked about the angel secretary he had recruited.

Ch. 221Tachibana Kirika began to doubt

Tachibana Kirika questioned Luo Shu about keeping Tokisaki Kurumi at the Secret Management Department, but agreed to let him continue cautiously while warning him to protect SdS. At the Base, Luo Shu welcomed several recruits, only for Eriri to realize that everyone present was new.

  • Tachibana Kirika challenged Luo Shu over making Tokisaki Kurumi his secretary and letting her move around the Base.
  • Luo Shu argued that Kurumi might be brought over to their side, while Kirika urged him to restrict her access to confidential information and eliminate her if she threatened SdS.
  • Kirika told Him to keep Natsuki Minamiya from learning how Kurumi's clone had been captured and wondered how Sharon had become Luo Shu's covert subordinate.
  • Luo Shu gathered Yukinoshita Yukino, Utaha Kasumigaoka, Kisara, Tokisaki Kurumi, and Eriri at the Base to welcome the new members.
  • Eriri realized that everyone at the welcome party was new.

Ch. 222Kasumigaoka's bitter regrets

Luo Shu’s department gathered for a meal, but Tokisaki Kurumi’s teasing turned it into a tense confrontation over Kisara’s claim that she was Luo Shu’s wife. Luo Shu admitted Kisara had drugged him and that he had not resisted, leaving Utaha Kasumigaoka bitterly regretting her earlier hesitation before Him arrived with liquor and found the room silent.

  • Eriri complained that Luo Shu had invited everyone to eat without letting them help prepare, then called him a harem guy because the department consisted entirely of young women.
  • Tokisaki Kurumi teased that the women might have to call one another sisters, and Kisara insisted she was Luo Shu’s wife, prompting Utaha Kasumigaoka to demand an explanation.
  • Luo Shu revealed that Kisara had ambushed him with a demon aphrodisiac and that he had gone along with it, while Kisara said he had given her all her knowledge of humans.
  • Yukinoshita Yukino recognized that Tokisaki Kurumi had deliberately provoked the conflict, while Utaha Kasumigaoka regretted missing her chance with Luo Shu.
  • Him arrived carrying strong liquor, announced that everyone should drink, and wondered why the gathering felt like a company criticism meeting.

Ch. 223Tokisaki Kurumi: Don't say it!!

Luo Shu’s gathering turned into a chaotic round of teasing as Him revealed her role in SdS and discussed the Mystical Side’s interest in Luo Shu’s genetic material. After Luo Shu exposed how he had transferred Kisara’s pain to Tokisaki Kurumi, Kurumi desperately tried to stop him from revealing what she had learned during their fight.

  • Him sat on Luo Shu’s lap until Utaha Kasumigaoka and Kisara dragged her onto the sofa and identified her as SdS Intelligence Department head.
  • Tokisaki Kurumi remarked that Him’s identity was worth thirty million US dollars on the black market, while Him and Kisara joked about keeping Luo Shu’s genetic material for themselves.
  • Tokisaki Kurumi teased Luo Shu about his relationships, prompting him to reveal that the Research Department’s Verde had repeatedly sought his genetic material.
  • Luo Shu revealed that he had transferred the pain Kisara suffered when she forced herself on him to Tokisaki Kurumi during their fight.
  • Tokisaki Kurumi begged Luo Shu to stop, but he declared that she was the woman who knew his shape better than anyone else in the world.

Ch. 224Luo Shu gave up trying

At the Secret Management Department’s new-member barbecue, Luo Shu ended the girls’ romantic arguments by accepting money for three nights with Utaha Kasumigaoka, Him, and Kisara. Afterward, Utaha warned Eriri that she was unprepared for the dangers of their world, and the chapter ended with Utaha moving her night with Luo Shu forward and agreeing to go to her place.

  • Luo Shu jokingly offered to spend a night with anyone who paid him two hundred thousand yen, then accepted money from Utaha Kasumigaoka, Kisara, and Him and assigned them successive nights.
  • Luo Shu silenced the gathering’s disputes and welcomed the girls to the Secret Management Department before the barbecue ended.
  • Utaha Kasumigaoka confronted Eriri about neglecting her training and warned her that Ghouls made their world dangerous, prompting Eriri to run off in tears.
  • Luo Shu told Utaha Kasumigaoka he would visit the Sawamura family and admitted he felt responsible for bringing Eriri into their world.
  • Utaha Kasumigaoka stopped Luo Shu near a love hotel, refused a refund, and asked to move their night up; Luo Shu suggested going to her place in Ikebukuro, and she agreed.

Ch. 225Taking Stock of the Rewards and the So-called Classes

At Utaha Kasumigaoka’s apartment, Luo Shu paid out points to the people who helped with the operation against Ghoul and explained the costly requirements for advancing to the Hero Rank Class Temple Guardian. Utaha worried that she was falling behind Kisara and Sharon, while Luo Shu noted that his own advancement path was difficult too.

  • Utaha Kasumigaoka teased Luo Shu about going home to comfort Kisara, then encouraged him to focus on taking over Ghoul’s remaining forces.
  • Luo Shu awarded 1,000 points to each person who helped search for intelligence during the operation against Ghoul.
  • Luo Shu checked his system rewards and saw that eliminating Ghoul had earned him 80,000 points, though he kept his nearly 210,000-point total from Utaha.
  • Luo Shu explained the expensive materials and dangerous ritual required to advance to the Hero Rank Class Temple Guardian.
  • Luo Shu told Utaha that Sharon had gathered nearly all the materials needed for her advancement, prompting Utaha to worry about her usefulness to him.
  • Luo Shu reassured Utaha that Sharon had started from a higher position and showed her his own Class, Calamity Priest (Hero Rank).
