• Mirella and Edward planned to provoke unrest in Aldra, where Javiel rallied residents against General Negan’s peace settlement as violence engulfed the city.
• The Mother Tree of Desire’s attack devastated Oravi, and Klein fought Cynthia after she became a Tree of Flesh and Blood before the Monarch of Decay intervened.
• Edward’s avatar survived the Seven Gods’ assault, killed Amyrius through Cynthia’s lingering spirituality, and merged with Suah as a pillar of light struck the city.

Edward’s schemes helped Sia Palenque Eggers become Death, whose return transformed the Southern Continent and set Balam against Loen. As Klein escaped Amon and resumed life in Backlund, the True Creator prepared to advance on sealed Laxia with Edward and Suah’s help.

• Edward discovered that Bernadette had died and that Roselle’s mausoleum held no easy answer, then raided the City of Emerald and claimed its treasures and the Magic Wishing Lamp.
• Klein explored the shared dream of the Black Monastery, advanced to Marionettist with the mermaids’ help, and learned more about the Aurora Order’s route into the Forsaken Land of the Gods.
• Edward negotiated with Sia Palenque Eggers over Death pathway artifacts and helped her prepare to seize Katami’s city, while Klein survived Suah’s assault with Reinette Tinekerr and Azik’s help.
• Sia Palenque Eggers fought the Artificial God of Death, died after Suah pierced her, then resurrected as Death and devoured the Artificial God of Death.

The True Creator advanced while confronting the Eastern Continent’s dead and began seeking new followers, as Klein took on Aurora Order work and traveled to the Southern Continent. Klein reached the war-torn region with Ms. D, while Edward and other powers prepared for a widening conflict.

• The True Creator endured Edward’s illusion, acknowledged his debt to the people sacrificed at the Betrayal Banquet, and led survivors to safety before accepting their memories and prayers.
• The True Creator revealed the sun had fallen to the City of Silver and released its people from believing in him, while Klein joined the Aurora Order’s efforts to aid Eastern Continent survivors.
• Klein investigated Mr. X’s gathering, became the Aurora Order’s new “X,” and accepted orders to contact the Eastern Continent’s Elect.
• Klein entered Hidden Town, met Zaratul, and received a Bizarro Sorcerer formula and a door-opening symbol before escaping through a door as Zaratul altered the scene.
• Klein agreed to deliver supplies to children in West Balam, arranged travel with Ms. D, and boarded an airship for the Southern Continent as Leonard recognized him.
• Traynor spread false military intelligence and directed Tony Dawn to provoke conflict among the forces of Loen, Lenburg, and the Church of Death.

Klein pursued Ince Zangwill into Enmat Harbor as the True Creator and the Monarch of Decay changed the balance among the gods. The revelations and deaths left the Northern Continent on the brink of war, while Klein and Leonard turned toward new threats.

• Klein investigated Calderón City, then hurried to Enmat Harbor after learning that Ince Zangwill and Edward Vaughan were there.
• The Evernight Goddess, Adam, the True Creator, and the Monarch of Decay became entangled in the confrontation at Enmat Harbor, where Leonard and Daly helped Klein kill Ince Zangwill and the Monarch took 0-08 and the Devil Card.
• The Monarch of Decay became the Devil god and unleashed an apocalypse, but the True Creator helped end it by killing the Eternal Blazing Sun and taking his authority.
