An astounding haul (Part two)
Danitz was hesitating about whether to choose the two unfamiliar items and go back to ask the captain when he suddenly heard Jodson count to the top in one breath.
He was secretly startled and quickly spoke:
"Flying Carpet, I choose the Flying Carpet!"
Compared to uncertainties, this Sealed Artifact is much more reassuring... Thinking this, Danitz said irritably:
Why didn't you count to 5 and 4?
Lorry shrugged, handed the "Flying Carpet" to Danitz, his gaze seemingly casually sweeping over Klein, and said with a playful smile:
I've counted them in my head.
He counted in his mind... Danitz took a deep breath, nodded without saying anything more, and turned to silently curse Jodson in his heart.
Talented... No wonder he's called a "Swindler"... His ability to manipulate people is top-notch... Seeing the interaction between the two high-ranking members of the "Golden Dream," Klein was quite shocked. He felt that Jodson's way of speaking was quite in line with the character of Gehrman Sparrow, and he planned to learn from it and make it his own.
Of course, not in front of "Flames" Danitz.
After all, Gehrman Sparrow, who is inherently crazy, wouldn't clumsily imitate others, otherwise his persona would collapse.
Lost in thought, Klein saw Jodson nod slightly, and suddenly remembered the Bounty, so he asked how to hand it over to him.
After a moment's thought, Lorry said:
"I owe our captain a debt because of a Sealed Artifact. You can have Danitz transfer the Bounty to her."
After saying that, he glanced at Danitz and said, half-threatening and half-teasing:
"If the captain says he didn't receive it, I will consider it as you secretly embezzling the money, and in that case, you will be used to offset this Bounty."
Danitz's expression froze, then Distortion smile crept across his face:
"Yes, I understand."
Seeing that the two parties had reached an agreement, Klein naturally had no objections. With Danitz right beside him, it would be more convenient to hand over the money to him.
Thinking of this, he nodded slightly:
"Can."
As soon as he finished speaking, Klein's heart stirred again:
Are you planning to sell the item you got from the "Bonebreaker"?
This was intended to be resold to the "Temperance Faction," Maric Lorry Klein calmly, chuckling softly:
I heard a Islander say:
"There's no deal that can't be struck, as long as you have enough leverage."
"Okay," Klein replied succinctly. "I'll ask my friend as soon as possible if he needs it and how many chips he can offer."
"No problem." Lorry curled the corners of his mouth slightly.
"After this vacation ends, I'll probably be on the ' Golden Dream ' for a long time to Future. You can find me there."
Klein nodded coolly, saying nothing more.
Business is done.
Lorry patted Danitz on the shoulder, then said goodbye and left.
He knew that Klein and Danitz needed to deal with "Iron" on their heads, and he himself needed to deal with the negative effects of "Sure-Hit Revolver".
It was just dawn.
The rising sun broke through the clouds, and the first hint of dawn appeared on the horizon.
Lorry basked in the cool morning breeze, found a bar that was open all night, and then walked into a deserted alley with two bottles of strong liquor.
He put on the White Bone Ring and Teleportation back to the Port Inn on Symeem Island.
Inside the room.
Instead of rushing to drink the wine to pay the price for the Sealed Artifact, Lorry used the Ritual Silver Dagger to set up a Wall of Spirituality and began to take stock of his gains.
The original "Flying Carpet" has just been given to "Flames" Danitz.
On the one hand, according to the results of the "decryption", this Sealed Artifact made from the Beyonder Characteristic of the "Wind-blessed" only has two abilities: "Levitation" and "flight". For him, who can simulate the complete abilities of the "Wind-blessed", it is useless and has no other use except to sell it for money.
In comparison, he preferred the two Sequence 7 Beyonder Characteristic.
On the other hand, let's just call it Lorry's perverse sense of humor.
Returning the item to its rightful owner, and incidentally stealing a line from Klein's face, seemed quite amusing to him, so he went along with it.
The thought flashed through Lorry's mind, and just as he was about to gather his thoughts, he suddenly frowned, a thoughtful expression on his face, sensing that something was amiss.
He had not participated in the battle with the three "Iron" members at all, therefore refused to share their Bounty and offered two Sequence 7 Beyonder Characteristic.
Danitz's original spoils were these things, but with his involvement, they became the "Flying Carpet" he had previously stolen from Huntley.
In exchange, the Beyonder Characteristic of both Sequence 7 belong to themselves.
Meanwhile, Danitz, who already possessed spoils, would no longer participate in the subsequent distribution; the Bounty of the "Iron" trio would go to Klein and "The Hanged Man" Alger.
If all goes well, the figure will be 6,000 pounds.
The two of them each received 3,000 pounds.
This... seems to be the distribution result from the Original Novel!
"Fate, no, an anchoring effect of history?" Lorry sat by the window, enjoying the sea breeze, gazing at the gradually whitening sky in silence for a long time.
That doesn't seem right either.
The "Curse of Knowledge" explanation is more plausible.
The fact that my previous actions caused the Great Smog Backlund to occur earlier, thus reducing the number of casualties, is the most undeniable fact!
As a witness to history, I can change many things!
For example, in this distribution of spoils, if I hadn't pitied Klein's tight finances and voluntarily given up my share of "Iron's" Bounty, or concealed one of the two Beyonder Characteristic or "Flying Carpet," things would never have turned out this way.
As the holder of the "Book of Dimensions," and having orchestrated the coincidences, Lorry was quite clear that his choice was not influenced by external forces.
The reason for forgoing the Bounty and instead using Beyonder Characteristic is that I didn't contribute anything in the corresponding battles; these traits didn't belong to me to begin with.
This also aligns with my principles.
Trading a "Flying Carpet" for Beyonder Characteristic is logically sound as well.
"I could Teleportation back to Bayam, exchange the ' Flying Carpet ' with Danitz to prove my judgment was correct, but... why bother?"
Lorry smiled as he faced the morning breeze and took out three Beyonder Characteristic.
He plans to exchange two Sequence 7 and one Sequence 5 for money first, and only consider turning them into Sealed Artifact if there are no buyers.
The former is worth around three thousand pounds.
The latter exceeds £10,000, with the exact premium depending on the buyer's urgency.
In addition, there is the Bounty for "Bonebreaker" Sebas; even if the Bounty is incomplete, the final amount will be no less than five thousand pounds.
In other words, Lorry's financial gains from this hunting trip alone are guaranteed to be a substantial sum of 18,000 pounds.
After paying off the debts of "Vice Admiral Iceberg", there was still a full ten thousand pounds left!
And this is only the most obvious and tangible benefit; for him, the greater gains are unknown to anyone else.
"The Curse of Knowledge!"
