Childhood and the Heaven Dou Mission

Qian Renxue grew up seeking Bibi Dong’s approval. Unable to understand her mother’s hostility, she assumed that proving her own competence would earn affection. Qian Daoliu guided her cultivation, but initially paid more attention to the divine inheritance than to her emotional development 34 37.

To infiltrate Heaven Dou, she served as Xue Qinghe’s personal maid. An elder supplied a love potion that helped make her the person he relied upon most. Her plan was to replace him while he went hunting for a Soul Ring, then remain undercover until the operation succeeded—potentially five or ten years later 36 37.

Meeting Leng Xiyue

During a visit to Spirit City, Qian Renxue met Leng Xiyue and extended her stay by two weeks. Their conversations over milk tea developed into discussions of government, warfare, and taking control of Heaven Dou without a conventional invasion. Leng Xiyue introduced the idea of empowering commoners through new weapons and opportunities for advancement, giving Qian Renxue a practical foundation for her preference for avoiding war 34 35 36.

Before leaving, Qian Renxue visited Bibi Dong to report her plans. Bibi Dong rejected her and threw a Glazed Glass Cup at her; Qian Renxue deliberately accepted the injury, interpreting her mother’s loss of control as evidence of buried affection. Leng Xiyue met her afterward with books and a protective revolver, becoming the one friend with whom she felt she could speak freely 37.

Crown Prince and Military Reformer

As Xue Qinghe, Qian Renxue maintained a benevolent public image while strengthening Spirit Hall’s position inside the court. When William offended Leng Xiyue, she recognized an opportunity to remove him as bodyguard captain and install a qualified Spirit Hall agent 84.

She subsequently worked alongside Leng Xiyue in Star Dou Province, overseeing the completion of the Star Dou Wall and local administration. During their seven months together, she learned the Nebula Art and studied the military implications of Soul Power Engines, armored vehicles, and modern firearms 88 92 93.

Her favor toward commoners alienated traditional nobles, many of whom preferred Xue Beng. Nevertheless, the knights she promoted became deeply loyal to her. She advocated peaceful relations and trade with the Jiuzhou Empire, secured permission to establish Heaven Dou’s New Army, and personally selected and trained five hundred elite soldiers 133 134 135 192 203.

Bibi Dong’s Assassination Attempt and the Prophetic Book

Bibi Dong’s attempt to assassinate Leng Xiyue forced Qian Renxue to choose between her mother and her closest companion. By this point, her childhood desire for maternal recognition had largely given way to a determination to strengthen Spirit Hall. She chose to remain with Leng Xiyue after receiving assurance that Bibi Dong would probably be imprisoned rather than killed, although distrust temporarily strained their relationship 218 219 222.

Qian Renxue returned to Spirit City to question Qian Daoliu about her parents. Unsatisfied with his account, she sought out Leng Xiyue, who finally gave her Douluo Continent. Reading its possible future revealed the failure of her infiltration, the cultivation time it would cost her, and a version of herself who developed feelings for Tang San. Leng Xiyue reminded her that these events were not their present reality 245 246 247.

Determined not to repeat that future, Qian Renxue entrusted Leng Xiyue with her Life Pearl as a safeguard against betrayal. Instead of merely holding it, Leng Xiyue swallowed it and pledged that they would live and die together 248 249.

Accession as Pope

As Bibi Dong restricted her access to Spirit Hall’s resources, Qian Renxue gathered support from the Angel Clan and prepared to leave the Heaven Dou operation. Leng Xiyue created a self-aware replacement for Xue Qinghe; Qian Renxue spent a night teaching it his speech, mannerisms, and relationships before it assumed her former duties 253 271 284.

Qian Daoliu crowned her the Fifty-Third Pope in Spirit City’s Central Square. She publicly committed Spirit Hall to peace and tolerance, removed Tang Hao from its wanted list, and supported friendly relations with Soul Beast communities 285.

Her first internal reforms targeted corrupt officials. About three-quarters of those assembled accepted her offer to resign; she then proposed open recruitment examinations and assigned Angel Clan members to investigate the remaining personnel. A Privy Council reduced the need for her to handle every matter personally, though she later studied administration under Bibi Dong to strengthen her own command of Spirit Hall 284 286 312.

Slaughter City and Later Activities

Qian Renxue accompanied Leng Xiyue into Slaughter City, fighting attackers and participating in lethal arena training. Her Six-Winged Angel protected her from the killing aura that increasingly affected Leng Xiyue. Their purification exercises eventually developed into a complete Martial Soul Fusion Skill 299 300 301 302.

Together they crossed Hell Road and entered the Asura God’s inheritance chamber. Qian Renxue insisted on facing its risks alongside Leng Xiyue and expressed interest in acquiring another domain. The Asura God advised them to separate their fusion if she wanted to preserve her chance of obtaining two domains; his Divine Position was offered to Leng Xiyue, not Qian Renxue 304 305.

As Pope, she also recognized the value of using the Chain of Ascension to attract powerful Soul Masters through trial visits, paid access, and service-earned admission. She prefers avoiding large-scale war because of its casualties, but is not indiscriminately merciful. Her court experience makes her suspicious of appearances, and she kills attackers without hesitation. She explicitly distinguishes possessing an angelic Martial Soul from feeling obliged to save everyone 35 299.

Loneliness and family rejection strongly shape her attachments. Her trust in Leng Xiyue becomes profound enough for her to surrender control over her own life through the Life Pearl.
