After breaking free of the ashes and gaining control over crystalline, ash-like power, Lin Yi entered the Convenience Store and found it wrecked and apparently abandoned. Searching for the injured Convenience Store Owner, he followed a strange call into the Bookshelf Area and came face-to-face with a monstrous mound of corpses.

• Lin Yi severed the ashes binding him to the doorway, absorbed the remaining ashes, and discovered he could command crystalline power and red-gold flames.
• Lin Yi found the Convenience Store cold, foggy, and ransacked, with signs of violence but no trace of the Convenience Store Owner.

Lin Yi found Convenience Store Owner-003 in the depths of the Convenience Store and learned that he was preparing to restore Lao Mo using the heart Lin Yi brought. The owner began the process at the Burial Body, an Alien Angel that slowly absorbed supernatural traits, leaving Lin Yi to watch as the heart’s golden aura pushed back the surrounding chill.

• Lin Yi resisted the Burial Body’s strange call and confirmed that he could warp back to where he had been.
• Convenience Store Owner-003 emerged from the direction of the corpse pile and revealed that he was the Convenience Store Owner Lin Yi had met before.
• The owner explained that he had been processing a trophy taken from an Angel and accepted Lao Mo’s heart from Lin Yi.
• Convenience Store Owner-003 told Lin Yi that Lao Mo was dead but might recover partly, then led him to the Burial Body.

Convenience Store Owner-003 used materials from the corpse pile and scraps of the Alien Angel to reconstruct Lao Mo’s body, then explained Lao Mo’s Ashes Apostle state and its limitations to Lin Yi. The chapter ended with Lin Yi wondering whether the Root had extinguished the Sun and whether the black Sun above the Art Building was the one that had gone out.

• Convenience Store Owner-003 wrapped Lao Mo’s heart in golden aura and buried it in the corpse pile, which convulsed and released painful airwaves before he declared the process done.

The chapter left Lin Yi learning that the Principal had gone alone into the Great Sea, while Convenience Store Owner-003 feared he might have to take over the Campus’s burden.

• Convenience Store Owner-003 gave Lin Yi a Bone Spike made from a thorn of the Burial Body’s heart and told him to kill Zhang Lingzhen if they met.

As Lin Yi left the store, he reported the Fanatics' activity around the Matrix, only to learn that the Convenience Store Owner already knew about it.

• Convenience Store Owner-003 explained that the Student Rules and painted-over Art Building signs could guide curious students into being screened according to their abilities, with the final rule offering a way off Campus for those who could not be saved.
• Convenience Store Owner-003 told Lin Yi to follow his own judgment about the Stargazing Platform and explained that he could not precisely cross the Layers to fight at the Art Building or retrieve Lao Mo's heart himself.

The group planned for Lin Yi to lure their enemies away with a Puppet while Tian Bufan explored the upper classrooms, and Kuai Hongji revealed he already had the adhesive substance Lin Yi needed.

• Lin Yi and Tian Bufan arranged to prepare a supernatural substance and a uniform before carrying out their plan, but a Blue Apron Chef interrupted them to ask Lin Yi about Lao Mo.
• Tian Bufan told Lin Yi to go with the chef, while Wei Shan warned that something was wrong with him.

The chapter left Lin Yi secretly observing the operation and wondering what lay beneath the Cafeteria.

• Lin Yi studied a Blue Apron Chef’s body and discovered that supernatural contamination had partly converted it into a claylike substance.
• Lin Yi secretly took control of the body, reattached its arm, and made the Green Apron Chef forget him.

The Green Chef Ride raced through the Other Passage and emerged beside Lin Yi, while the Burial Body’s voice pursued it.

• Lin Yi perceived the Green Apron Chefs making pasta from corpses in a filthy kitchen and traced the source of their ingredients to a huge mass of fused bodies hanging in the cavern.
• Lin Yi recognized Zhou Yuting among the corpses and realized the corpse mass might be the Burial Body’s enormous original body, with the Convenience Store containing only its core.
• When the corpse mass detected a living person, Lin Yi took control of a Green Apron Chef, formed a Pig Slaughtering Knife from his aura, and chopped off two corpse-roots.

Lin Yi retrieved the Root Tendrils from Green Chef Ride, escaped the Other Passage, and headed to the Teaching Building with a Green Apron Chef in tow. Zhao Lingxiao followed him, eager to learn about the sinister materials he planned to use for a Puppet, while Lin Yi remained wary of her intentions.

• Lin Yi reclaimed his stored will and the Root Tendrils from Green Chef Ride, then punched it back into the Other Passage, where the Green Apron Chefs attacked it and threw it back outside after noticing the ashes.
• Lin Yi dragged a Green Apron Chef toward the Teaching Building; it transformed into a Blue Apron Chef sculpture, which Lin Yi smashed and crushed into dust.

• Wei Liang told Lin Yi to stop overthinking and treat the root like a model, prompting Lin Yi to carve it without worrying about its existing boundaries.
• Lin Yi formed a knife from sky blue aura, coated it with green aura, and stripped flesh from the root until its tangled bones were exposed.

As the Layer’s eerie aura faded, Tian Bufan urged Lin Yi to begin their next step, and Lin Yi realized he had spent until 13:16 constructing the puppet.

• Zhao Lingxiao became absorbed in the Abyss and saw a vision of a blacksmith at work while Lin Yi continued building a skeleton from the vertebrae.
• Lin Yi entered the skeleton with his perception and covered it in corpse muscle fibers, secretly infusing the flesh with ashes.
• Lin Yi assembled a helmet-like skull from petrified fragments, coated the puppet in supernatural substance, and set an eyeball into its head.

Lin Yi sent A-Gui toward the fifth floor of Teaching Building C while keeping his Original Body back, and Zhao Lingxiao recovered after absorbing the discarded remnants left from the Puppet’s creation. As A-Gui crossed into the next Layer, a strange, burning slime began consuming it, revealing an aura of Ashes and signs that the substance was Night-Walking Species.

• Lin Yi warned that he would not bring his Original Body to Building C, then sent the Puppet across the Covered Bridge after renaming it A-Gui.
• Zhao Lingxiao recovered from her trance, crawled to the Puppet’s construction site, and absorbed the remaining supernatural dust, glimpsing the Mystical Runes and a hammering figure she associated with Lin Yi.

He reached the planned lure site without his Bone Spike and realized Zhang Lingzhen might have become a puppet of the Burial Body.

• Lin Yi used A-Gui to absorb Ashes and force his way through the slime to the fifth floor, where he found charred Fanatics and walls melted by intense heat.

• Lin Yi realized Zhang Lingzhen had become an Ashes Apostle carrying Burial Body's will, and decided not to send his original body or the Bone Spike after her.
• Zhang Lingzhen noticed A-Gui and moved toward him, while the Fire Person sensed her movement and prepared to act.

As Zhang Lingzhen entered the classroom in her Ashes Apostles state, Lin Yi waited for her to come close enough to unleash the power he had absorbed.

• Lin Yi recognized the sculptures’ song from an earlier encounter, realized he was in deep Dreambuilding, and woke himself by identifying the Dream.
• Lin Yi considered whether the broken sculptures were exiled beings trying to use him as an offering, then focused again on charging A-Gui with Ashes.

Convinced that the figure’s will was weak, Zhang Lingzhen broke free and began burning A-Gui as the fight continued.

• Zhang Lingzhen reached into A-Gui’s chest, burst his heart, and found her arm trapped when his sternum clamped shut around it.
• Lin Yi revealed that A-Gui’s bones were made from Zhang Lingzhen’s own flesh and bones, then used the puppet’s limbs to restrain her.

• Lin Yi let the ashes spread through A-Gui and ignited them while A-Gui’s bones trapped Zhang Lingzhen, causing her spine to carbonize and shatter.
