Background and History

Birth and exile

Old Sha was born on the Great Prairie to the Azure Cliff Heavenly Wolf King and an ordinary Forest Wolf. His father was the Wolf Lord’s forty-second son. Despite this ancestry, Old Sha was born as a Forest Wolf without an awakened Heavenly Wolf Bloodline; his innate Wolf King’s Majesty was the principal sign of his unusual parentage 354.

The Wolf Nation treated weak offspring as disposable. Old Sha’s father attempted to kill him, and his mother intervened. A trace of Wolf King’s Majesty helped him survive, but his mother died and he was driven out of the central tribe 354 715.

Accounts differ on the immediate circumstances of his mother’s death: one recalls his father biting her, another a subordinate striking her with its tail, while a later passage emphasizes her weakness and his father’s responsibility. All connect her death and Old Sha’s exile to the rejection of his unawakened bloodline 363 649 726.

Life with the Su family

Su Chongguang found Old Sha during his service in the Western Desert and raised him. Old Sha grew up alongside Su Anyong, later watching Su Ping grow from childhood. Although he never formed a Soul Contract with either of the older men, he became one of the family’s closest companions 4 354 726.

Old Sha refused Su Chongguang’s offer of a contract because he feared limiting his future. Repeated attempts to evolve had failed, leaving him resigned to remaining a Forest Wolf. Nevertheless, an opportunity in his youth brought Sunlight Absorption to Perfection and helped him exceed his species’ normal cultivation limit 4 72 355.

As Woodheart’s sole Wolf King, he kept the other Forest Wolves obedient and helped Su Anyong manage the base without additional caretakers. By the time Su Ping took over, however, Old Sha was elderly; his Commander Rank had prolonged a lifespan that an ordinary Forest Wolf would already have exhausted 4 57.

Appearance

• Forest Wolf: A large wolf with bright green eyes and grayish-blue fur. When he straightened himself during evolutionary preparations, he stood slightly taller than Su Ping 8 72 85.
• Evolutionary training: His fur became increasingly emerald and leaflike, with longer branchlike strands extending along his spine and veinlike markings appearing on his tongue 85 88.
• Ten Thousand Woods Wolf: Developed two Y-shaped branch antlers, sharper claws, and a plantlike body capable of moving through trees 93.
• After acquiring Sunheart: His antlers became translucent milky white, while his eyes changed to pale gold or platinum. These changes remained after the fusion ended 203 205.
• Solar Corona Wolf Venerable: Stands roughly three meters tall, with fur flowing with golden light. His former horns become a crown made of light, accompanied by a radiant solar-corona arc behind him 658.

Personality

Old Sha’s loyalty is familial rather than contractual. He drank Su Ping’s foul-smelling experimental potion despite believing it might poison him, both to protect the young breeder’s confidence and to establish his authority before the wolf pack. After its success, his solemn resignation immediately gave way to excited licking and tail-wagging 8 9.

His failed evolutions and childhood rejection left him with a deep fear of becoming a burden. During his successful evolutionary attempt, he worried less about dying than about wasting Su Ping’s resources and effort. Having once accepted his own approaching death, he also sympathized strongly with the dying Life Ancient Tree 88 179 355.

He is proud of his strength and seniority, but readily drops that dignity around Su Ping. His confidence in battle contrasts with his dread of arithmetic exercises, although he willingly accepts difficult training when it offers a path to evolution. His eventual confrontation with the Heavenly Wolves ends not in a desire to rule them, but in recognition that the Su family—not his biological relatives—is his home 96 183 653 724 726.

• Mutation·Wood Body: Allows him to pass through trees and enter Woodification, taking on a rooted, plantlike form 93 179.

Sun Storm

A solar combat skill with distinct Solar Wind and Solar Burst applications 715 725.

• Solar Wind: Transforms his body into a high-speed state that ignores physical attacks and permits travel through the star river 725.

A Super-Rank status ability with influence over wolf pets, Beast-types, and Plant-element creatures. Its effects are particularly pronounced against wolves 659 726.

• Maintains a connection to the sun without requiring a distinction between day and night 659.
• Suppressed the Amethyst Datura Flower King’s energy and movement, allowing Old Sha to finish the battle 725.
• Its presence was felt even by the Legend Tier Wolf Lord and Wood Spirit Mother Tree, although Old Sha’s lower cultivation limited its threat to the latter 725 726.
