Bibi Dong's Superb Acting

Spirit City, Hall of Punishment.

After being brought here as a suspected spy, Yu Xiaogang was soon subjected to a round of inhumanly brutal torture.

When the torture ended, Yu Xiaogang was hoarse from screaming. His body was covered in wounds, his clothes were tattered, exposing bloody injuries, and his face was badly swollen, making him look like a pig-headed monster.

Under the double torment of body and mind, Yu Xiaogang, bound to a wooden pillar, now stared blankly ahead as though he had been completely broken.

But unfortunately, it was not over yet.

After torturing Yu Xiaogang, several Guards began shouting again, demanding to know why he had sneaked into Spirit Hall to peek at their Secret Library!

Yu Xiaogang had no answer to that and could only insist with difficulty.

He had been brought to the Fourth floor of the Spirit City Central Library by Saintess Bibi Dong. He had not snuck in himself, much less acted as a spy.

However, the Guards clearly did not accept that answer.

After angrily berating Yu Xiaogang for still being stubborn, the Guards began whipping him viciously again and subjected him to various punishments in turn.

For a time, shrill, hoarse screams once again rang out from the torture chamber.

Meanwhile, after taking Su Mo away from the Spirit City Central Library, Bibi Dong spent more than an hour showing him around Spirit City.

But on the way, Su Mo found Bibi Dong's "panic" rather amusing.

Though he did not know what scheme Bibi Dong had secretly arranged to make Spirit Hall arrest Yu Xiaogang as a spy, this was undoubtedly something Bibi Dong had planned behind the scenes.

Still, Bibi Dong's acting was indeed excellent.

At least on the surface, all he could see was Bibi Dong's frantic worry over Yu Xiaogang's arrest. He could not see the slightest sign that any of this was related to Bibi Dong.

Upon learning why Bibi Dong had come, the Guards became somewhat panicked as well. They hurriedly had someone lead Bibi Dong into the Hall of Punishment, where they found Yu Xiaogang.

"Xiao Gang!"

Upon arriving at the torture chamber where Yu Xiaogang was being held, Bibi Dong saw him chained to a wooden pillar in an utterly miserable state. There was barely an uninjured patch of flesh left on him, and he was on the verge of death.

Though Bibi Dong was inwardly delighted, her beautiful eyes instantly reddened. She hurriedly covered her mouth with her Jade Hands, looking so guilty that she seemed about to cry.

"Xiao Gang, what happened to you? Sob... It's all my fault. I shouldn't have taken Xiao Mo out to play. Otherwise, you wouldn't have been mistaken for a spy and brought here. I've wronged you!"

As she spoke, Bibi Dong put on a look as though she were overwhelmed by grief. Her body went limp, and she nearly collapsed, but Su Mo caught her.

"How... how could you do such a thing?!"

After grieving for a while, Bibi Dong abruptly stood up. She glared angrily at the Guards who had tortured Yu Xiaogang and raised her hand as though she wanted to strike them.

But unfortunately, because of her "kind" nature, Bibi Dong remembered that the Guards had only been following the rules. Though her raised hand trembled in midair, she gritted her teeth and ultimately did not bring it down.

"You... this cannot be blamed on you either. He truly did not have the right to enter the Fourth floor. I was the one who brought him in. This is all my fault!"

As though she had realized the root of all the mistakes, Bibi Dong "painfully" closed her eyes and lowered her hand.

"Hurry and let him down, then find a Healing-type Support Soul Master to treat his injuries!"

At Bibi Dong's command, the Guards felt as though they had been granted a reprieve. They quickly released Yu Xiaogang, then rushed out to find a Healing-type Support Soul Master.

It did not take long.

Because Spirit City was home to countless Soul Masters, the Guards soon found a Healing-type Support Soul Master, who treated Yu Xiaogang's injuries in the cell.

"Where... am I?"

After his injuries had been treated, Yu Xiaogang slowly woke up. Somewhat dazed, he asked in a hoarse voice.

"Xiao Gang, you're awake?"

Seeing Yu Xiaogang wake up, Bibi Dong immediately put on a "delighted" expression.

"Her Ladyship, the Saintess."

Realizing that Bibi Dong had actually come, Yu Xiaogang struggled to sit up, but Bibi Dong stopped him.

"Your injuries have not fully healed yet. There is no need to be so formal."

"I need to apologize to you for what happened today. It was all my fault. I should not have taken Xiao Mo to Spirit City and left you alone on the Fourth floor of the Central Library. Otherwise, you would not have suffered such serious injuries today."
