Background / History

Early life and Notting Academy

Tang San was raised in Holy Soul Village by Tang Hao, who spent his days drunk and gave little attention to his young son's care. As a toddler, Tang San was confined to the blacksmith shop and survived on poorly prepared rice porridge. 81

At Notting Academy, his Martial Soul Certificate revealed his Innate Full Soul Power and Twin Martial Souls. Yu Xiaogang immediately took him as a disciple, viewing Tang San as an opportunity to validate his own theories. 115

His first Soul Ring became a lasting humiliation: rather than the expected control skill, it produced a fart-based attack. He avoided using it except under extreme pressure. 121 176

Shrek Academy and Spirit City

Tang San cultivated relentlessly, reached level 30 at age twelve, and defeated Meng Yiran by using Blue Silver Grass fragments as anchors for his Parasite skill. 176

During Shrek Team's fight against the Royal Fighting Team, he was alarmed when Zhu Zhuqing displayed arts resembling Purple Demon Eyes, Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track, and Mystic Jade Hand. His accusations led to a confrontation with Su Mo, who claimed to be connected to the origin of those martial arts. 204 209 210

Tang San privately knew that he had secretly learned the Tang Sect's arts from the Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record as an outer disciple. When Su Mo tested his identity, Tang San knelt and kowtowed to preserve the appearance of being an inner Tang Sect disciple. 212

He continued to Spirit City for the Pan-continental Soul Master Academy Elite Tournament despite warnings that Spirit Hall might target him. Bibi Dong publicly exposed him as Tang Hao's son and ordered his arrest, drawing Tang Hao out to protect him. 231 233 242 243

Divine trials and the Anti-Spirit Hall Faction

Tang Hao attempted to awaken Tang San's Blue Silver Emperor bloodline, but Ah Yin intervened before the awakening could proceed. Tang San nevertheless learned of his maternal bloodline and later activated Divine Slaughter's Domain. 270 271 280

After Su Mo killed Tang Hao and Tang Chen, the Asura God promised that they might be revived if Tang San helped prevent Spirit Hall from unifying the continent. Tang San departed for Sea God Island to gain strength, carrying the Asura Demon Sword and undertaking divine trials. 291 292

Following Sea God Island's destruction, Tang San was teleported to Fanos Province. He began recruiting the Four Great Clans into an Anti-@@REF_ENTITY_1991020@@ alliance supported by the Star Luo Empire and the God Realm. 343 346 363 364

He secured Titan and the Strength Clan, helped bring the Defense Clan and Speed Clan into the faction, and became engaged to Bai Chenxiang. 346 361 364 377

War, godhood, and death

With the Asura Demon Sword unsealed, Tang San could devour blood and convert it into Soul Power. Though he recognized this as a demonic practice, his desire for revenge and rapid advancement ultimately outweighed his hesitation. 448 450

As a Titled Douluo, he protected Holy Soul Village from Star Luo soldiers requisitioning its food. His reunion with Old Jack exposed how distant and status-conscious he had become. 449 450

After inheriting the Sea God and Rakshasa Godhoods, Tang San vanished to the Sun Moon Continent. There he established the Sea God Sect and Asura Sect to gather faith, but Su Mo's expedition dismantled his position and forced him into open resistance. 510 511 512

On the Sun Moon Plain, Tang San refused to surrender even when Su Mo threatened Yu Xiaogang. He burned the Rakshasa Godhood and used the Sea God's Thirteen Strikes to escape, but Su Mo killed him with Death God's Sigh. 515

Appearance

Tang San is depicted as a tall, slender young man with short black hair and an ordinary-looking face. He is commonly seen in blue clothing after his early academy years. 343 351 448

  • His Blue Silver Grass became thicker and blue-purple after he acquired his First Soul Ring, with yellow segmented growths along its strands. 121
  • In combat, he can spread Blue Silver Grass across a wide area, creating the impression that countless vines extend from his body. 204
  • As the Blue Silver Douluo, he manifests nine Soul Rings around his Blue Silver Grass Martial Soul. 449

Personality

Tang San is driven by cultivation, revenge, and a need to overcome the disadvantages imposed by Su Mo's interference. He demonstrates caution when entering the Strength Clan, strategic awareness in alliance-building, and the willingness to endure public humiliation before Su Mo in order to survive for future revenge. 344 346 389

He is highly sensitive about status due to his impoverished upbringing and former position as a Tang Sect outer disciple. After becoming a Titled Douluo, Old Jack's criticism provokes resentment rather than gratitude. 450

Tang San outwardly stresses sect rules, loyalty, and reverence for teachers, but his actions are often shaped by personal gain and vengeance. He maintains the appearance of concern for Yu Xiaogang while privately despising his teacher's failures. 395
