Hugues Artois Lumian was completely unprepared for this answer.
Why are rival parties like the Savoie Gang and the Stinger Gang supporting the same Candidate?
If Hugues Artois is elected, will he help the Stinger Gang against the Savoie Gang, help the Savoie Gang completely oust the Stinger Gang, or demand peaceful coexistence between the two sides?
Lumian felt more and more that something was wrong with this matter:
If Hugues Artois were the mastermind behind both the Savoie Gang and the Stinger Gang, things wouldn't have escalated to this point!
Although Lumian deserves credit for this, wasn't he also acting on the orders of his Boss and Baron Brignais?
Furthermore, Hugues Artois wasn't even a city Member of Parliament before, and he hasn't even been officially elected to Member of Parliament yet. On what grounds does he protect the Savoie Gang and the Stinger Gang?
The only explanation is that the power of the Liberal Party is at play, but the Liberal Party wouldn't support two Gang and let them fight each other to the death.
Lacking experience in this area, Lumian pondered for a long time but couldn't come up with an answer, and could only sigh regretfully:
Unable to mobilize the Savoie Gang members, they resorted to secretly threatening voters against electing Hugh Artois!
He looked at Louis, and asked in confusion:
"Why didn't I know that our Savoie Gang supports Hugh Artois?"
Louis immediately became nervous:
"I thought the Baron had given you instructions, Boss."
Isn't this the very meaning of a handover?
Baron Brignais was in a bad mood because he had lost the most profitable Breeze Ballroom, and he was too lazy to remind people of many things. He thought to himself, "They'll find out when they're supposed to." Lumian left the Breeze Ballroom and headed back to the Golden Rooster Inn.
He went straight up to the Third Floor, walked to room number 5 where the Information Broker Anthony Reid lived, and knocked on the Wooden Door.
The thumping sound echoed, but no one responded.
He's not here... Well, what Information Broker stays home all day...? Lumian took out his Note Paper and fountain Fountain Pen, using Anthony Reid's door as a table, and quickly wrote a short note:
"I received word that Louis Lund will be on Market Avenue this Saturday and Sunday. Please keep an eye out for him and notify me immediately if you spot him. I'll either be in Room 207 of the hotel or at the Breeze Ballroom. The final payment will be made as agreed then."
"Charles."
After slipping the Note Paper under the door into room 305, Lumian returned to the Breeze Ballroom and remained in the Café, awaiting Qi's feedback.
As Twilight approached, a Gang Thug the area near 126 Market Avenue ran back to the Dance Hall and went up to the second floor.
"Found Louis Lund? "Lumian jumped to his feet, looking at his Subordinate.
The Gang Thug inexplicably nervous, as if he were being watched by a hungry Lion.
Before Lumian could ask, he said hurriedly and stammeringly, "Boss, no, something bad has happened!"
"I saw, I saw a group of Police go to the Yard!"
The Yard? Isn't that the Boss's property? Uh, there's a warehouse belonging to "Rat" Christo near the Yard... Did Franca's "whistleblower" work? Lumian quickly thought of a possibility.
This greatly disappointed him.
What Person in the Mirror, what is the potential danger? In his eyes, it's not even worth a single hair on Louis Lund's head!
Controlling his emotions and the lingering excitement on his body, Lumian said to his Subordinate, "I understand, I'll handle it."
"Go back to your original position and continue to stake out the person on the wanted poster. In half an hour, I'll have the other four of you come back to rest."
"Yes, Boss." The Gang Thug a sigh of relief and turned to walk into the stairwell.
Watching his figure disappear, Lumian looked down at his hands.
They were trembling slightly.
This was caused by his sudden burst of excitement and agitation when he thought his Subordinate had brought news of Louis Lund.
Sometimes, my emotions are still not stable enough... Fortunately, I can have therapy again this Sunday... Lumian sighed inwardly, sat down, and took a sip of coffee.
To be in top form for Louis Lund, he didn't even order any drinks.
Outside the warehouses belonging to "Rat" Christo.
He and most of his Subordinate and porters were gathered together, surrounded by twenty or thirty Police in black uniforms and armed with guns.
Christo forced a fawning smile and asked Police Inspector Travis Everett, whom he recognized, "Police Inspector, why were you suddenly surrounded in the warehouse?"
"I am a legitimate businessman!"
Everett, a man in his thirties with Black-Rimmed Glasses and a wide chin, looked at Christo and said in a deep voice, "Don't think we don't know what you've been up to. We haven't punished you because you're relatively law-abiding and know what you should and shouldn't do. Now, your only choice is to cooperate with us and get things sorted out as soon as possible."
Christo keenly sensed hope in Superintendent Everett's words and immediately nodded, "Okay, okay, no problem!"
He has already distributed yesterday's shipment. As long as the actual accounts are not found, there is no concrete evidence to indict him.
Everett, whose black hair was shaved short, turned to the man next to him and said, "Assistant Superintendent, you may begin."
The man had a rugged appearance, with thick Blond Hair, Golden eyebrows and a beard, and wore a slightly small black Police uniform, but the buttons were made of gold.
His epaulettes featured a Silver-White seven-petaled Fleur-de-lis, accompanied by a small Ivory -shaped square.
This represents the Deputy Assistant Superintendent of Police.
Above the Police Inspector, the Trier Police Department has four ranks, from lowest to highest: Chief Police Inspector, Deputy Assistant Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, and Deputy Superintendent.
There is only one deputy police commissioner, who is the head of the Trier Police Department. The only person with a higher Police Insignia in the entire Republic of Intis is the head of the National Police Department, a police commissioner.
Assistant Superintendents and Deputy Assistant Superintendents belong to the deputy ministers and Police Commissioner of the Trier Police Department. On their shoulder insignia, next to the seven-petaled Fleur-de-lis, there are Ivory -shaped squares. There are four for Superintendents, three for Deputy Superintendents, two for Assistant Superintendents, one for Deputy Assistant Superintendents, and none for the Chief Police Inspector.
In other words, this Blond Hair, blond-haired man held a position equivalent to Police Commissioner Aimeric, who was in charge of the entire Honest Market District, but Christo didn't know him at all.
"Just call me Angoulême," the rugged-looking deputy assistant police inspector replied simply.
His gaze then swept over Christo, Elken, and the others, giving them an inexplicable feeling that the Sun was so bright that they had to lower their heads.
Angoulême withdrew his gaze and said to the team members in civilian clothes behind him, "You can bring that thing over now."
Two team members walked to a nearby four-wheeled carriage and unloaded a large, flat object covered with a black velvet curtain.
They then placed it next to Angoulême.
Angoulême looked at "Rat" Christo and the others, slightly raising his chin, and said, "You all line up in front of me, one at a time."
Christo felt the little guy in his pocket trembling slightly and guessed that Angoulême was Official Beyonder, and quite powerful at that.
After a few seconds of deliberation, he dared not resist and cautiously walked in front of Angoulême.
Angoulême abruptly pulled back the black velvet curtain, revealing the complete appearance of the items beside him:
It was a Full-Length Mirror, with an antique design, set in a rusty Iron-Black frame.
Christo's image was instantly reflected on the surface of the Mirror, every detail clearly visible.
Christo didn't sense anything unusual, but Elken behind him suddenly changed his expression.
He suddenly turned to the left, attempting to escape.
Nearly twenty other people, including some laborers and porters, did the same thing as him.
Bang, bang, bang!
The team members following Angoulême were prepared and raised their arms, pulling the triggers.
The bullets shot out and hit those trying to escape, but it was as if they hit Phantom, passing right through Past and landing in the distance.
Angoulême calmly extended his left hand and adjusted the orientation of the Full-Length Mirror next to him.
The Mirror then reflected Elken's image, but the background was completely dark.
Elken froze in place, maintaining his running posture.
Immediately afterwards, his face showed terror, but he was irresistibly drawn Past the Full-Length Mirror.
The moment the two collided, Elken's body vanished.
In an instant, he appeared in the Mirror, his face stained with blood, his expression twisted, filled with hatred and resentment.
He opened his mouth, as if he were shouting, but he was dragged by an invisible force into the unusually Gloom background of the Mirror and disappeared.
Christo was stunned by what he saw and forgot to help his brother.
Only one thought echoed in his mind:
"They really have a problem..."
Meanwhile, Angoulême's Subordinate were trying to control the escapees. Their various abilities terrified the surrounded Ordinary Person, who crouched on the ground, heads bowed, trembling in fear.
At the Breeze Ballroom, Lumian, sitting at the bar listening to Jenna sing, received news two hours earlier that "Rat" Christo was unharmed but a group of his Subordinate had died.
"Not bad efficiency..." he thought to himself, praising the Official Beyonder in the Market District.
As the obscene song ended, a woman who had been waiting nearby went up to the stage, rushed to a young band member, and sobbed twice.
She seemed to be saying that so-and-so had died.
The band members froze, looking completely bewildered, as if they had heard extremely shocking news and were unable to react for a moment.
A few seconds later, he dropped the Roselle Guitar hanging on his body and ran wildly off the stage.
After running a few steps, he stumbled and fell heavily to the ground. He struggled for a moment but couldn't get up.
The next second, he burst into tears.
Jenna, dressed in a sequined red Long Dress, stared for a few seconds, pursed her lips, and ultimately did not Past to comfort them, letting the band member and the woman who rushed over hug each other and cry.
She walked off the stage in silence and encountered Lumian leaving the bar.
"What happened?" Lumian asked.
Jenna sighed softly and said, "His father died in an accident a few hours ago."
"I know him, and I know how difficult it was for him to learn a musical instrument. His father is a porter, and his mother is Dishwasher. Without their unwavering support, he would only be able to do manual labor now..."
An accident a few hours ago... a mover... Lumian roughly understood the reason.
He, too, gazed silently at the stage.
