Leaflets
Ding! Ding! Ding!
When the six o'clock bell rang, Lumian sat up abruptly and drew back the curtains.
Soft light streamed into the room, bringing the stillness of the night back to life.
Lumian rubbed his face, quickly washed up, and took care of his personal needs.
He changed his clothes, walked downhill, left the Golden Rooster Inn, circled around to White Coat Street, and entered the Safe House he had rented.
Lumian then began to peruse Aurora's Witchcraft Notes, hoping to uncover previously unnoticed issues once new information became available.
The contents of Aurora's Witchcraft Notes are mainly divided into three types:
First, it includes general Mysticism knowledge, such as the names of all Pathway, details of some Sequence, the foundations of Ritual Magic, the role of Symbolic Elements, and the pronunciation and meaning of several supernatural languages.
Secondly, it involves the specific application of Mysticism knowledge and personal abilities, which requires extensive thought, the Recording or purchase of numerous spells, and the prevention of Curse, etc.
Thirdly, there are fragmented, unsystematic, and rather bizarre pieces of knowledge and anecdotes, some of which come from the indoctrination of the "Hidden Sage" and others from exchanges among members of the "Curly-Haired Baboon Research Society."
These three types of information were not recorded in separate notebooks, but rather existed in an interleaved manner according to the order in which Aurora acquired them and in chronological order.
For Lumian, the second type was the most difficult. The "Illumination Spell such as "lighting", " Weed-Clearing Spell ", " Exorcism Spell ", " Soul-Summoning Spell ", " Lightning Spell ", " Wind-Creation Spell ", and " Warlock Hand of Force " were all more difficult to understand than the last. After all, he had neither fully mastered all the basic Mysticism knowledge nor had the Beyond Ability to cast spells.
In comparison, after becoming a "Mendicant Friar," he found it much easier to understand, learn, and master Ritual Magic.
Lumian also noticed that her Older Sister had not written down the underlying rules, such as the "Law of Conservation of Beyonder Characteristics," in her notebook.
However, this is quite normal. Similar laws are few in number, easy to remember, and hard to forget, so there is no need to Recording separately.
After reviewing the documents for almost the entire morning, Lumian found nothing suspicious, but instead accumulated a pile of questions that required consulting others.
He slowly exhaled, folded the few pages of Paper Recording his questions, stuffed them into his pocket, and left the Safe House.
On his way to Market Avenue, Lumian saw several polling stations, where uniformed Police and fully armed gendarmes were working hard to maintain order, allowing people in long lines to place their ballots into Wooden Box one by one.
Although he had received a new Identity Documents from Gardner Martin and transformed into Charles Dubois, who had lived in the Market District for nearly two years and had the right to vote, Lumian did not register at all, not wanting to get involved in the election of Member of Parliament.
After walking a short distance, a newsboy ran up and tossed a stack of White Paper he was holding into the air.
Lumian saw many pedestrians picking up the White Paper and reading them intently. He also bent down and picked up a copy that was right next to his feet.
The White Paper was printed with several lines of Intisian, the grammar of which was simple and easy to understand:
Hugues Artois is a traitor!
"During the war with the Kingdom of Loen a few years ago, he abandoned his troops and fled, leaving many people's fathers, brothers, husbands, and sons never to return!"
"His participation in the Member of Parliament elections received the covert support of the Kingdom of Loen!"
After reading it, Lumian couldn't help but exclaim "Oh!"
He recalled that the promotional posters for Hugues Artois emphasized his military service, noting that he rose through the ranks to become Major before leaving the military to enter politics, starting as Assistant Secretary of Parliament.
"Is this because yesterday's vote count wasn't ideal, and a certain Candidate is making a final push?" Lumian pondered, as several men who appeared to be Gang Thug walked by, confiscating leaflets from pedestrians and verbally and physically abusing them, while the nearby Police seemed oblivious.
Lumian raised his head, glanced around, and recognized one of them:
Those were members of the Stinger Gang; they had previously accompanied Margot and Wilson to the Golden Rooster Inn.
"You bastard, is this something you can even look at?"
"You leper, give me what you're holding!"
"You son of a bitch, do you want me to lay a hand on you?"
The members of the Stinger Gang walked up to Lumian. Just as they were about to snatch the flyer away, as they had done before, they suddenly noticed the short, dark brown hair.
Lumian smiled.
"Charles!" The Stinger Gang members instinctively turned around and tried to run away.
Lumian then raised his foot and kicked one of Thug Gang hard in the buttocks, causing him to lose his balance and fall forward to the ground.
"What, don't you recognize your grandpa?" he cursed, watching the fallen members of the Sting Stinger Gang scramble away in a disheveled state, without giving chase.
Lumian tossed the flyer aside and strolled back to the Breeze Ballroom.
As soon as they entered, Louis greeted them with Sakota, saying, "Boss, Charlie quit his Waiter job last night, only asking for a week's salary."
"I know," Lumian.
Louis remembered that the night before last, his Boss had taken Charlie away and then came back to find him. Charlie had quickly resigned and left, which made him feel that there must be some secrets hidden in this, but he didn't dare to ask.
Lumian glanced at Louis and casually asked as she walked towards the second-floor Café, "How old are you this year?"
"27." Louis didn't understand why his Boss cared about this.
Lumian asked almost without thinking:
Are you married? Do you have children?
"Not yet," Louis said with a slightly embarrassed smile. "I plan to get married when I'm a bit more mature."
He felt that although he had escaped the Destiny of Thug Gang become a boss's bodyguard, no longer having to worry about being beaten to death in the street at any time, this kind of life was still dangerous.
He didn't want to get married and have a child so soon that another man would benefit from it. (https://m. hetushu. com. com)
Lumian nodded:
"You need to think more about your Future. Another Louis I know already has several children."
Louis gave a perfunctory reply, feeling that his Boss was forcing a conversation even though he had nothing to say, as if he were trying to prove something.
Franca did not have lunch with Gardner Martin and returned to No. 3 White Coat Street before noon.
She noticed the guest room door was tightly closed, and with a slight sense of doubt, she turned the Handle and pushed it open.
Jenna, dressed in Pajamas and pajama bottoms, was fast asleep, huddled under the covers.
Noticing the noise, she rubbed her eyes, slowly sat up, and looked towards the door.
"Still sleeping?" Franca asked with a smile.
Since I don't have to go to the Old Pigeon Cage to learn acting lately, am I just indulging myself like this?
Jenna smoothed her Brownish Yellow hair and mumbled something.
"It's all Charles's fault, making a fuss until midnight."
"..." Franca's smile froze on her face.
Jenna continued, "I don't know what happened to him last night, he seemed off, both emotionally and physically. I was worried something might happen to him, so I stayed with him until he went into the Golden Rooster Inn and got into bed before I came back to rest."
Franca breathed a sigh of relief and said with concern, "Tell me more about it."
Jenna started by talking about how she saw Lumian sitting in the rain by the roadside after she finished Singing and left the Breeze Ballroom. She continued talking about how he used unimaginable "methods" to help Gabriel get the opportunity to sign a script contract, and finally said, "Damn, it was almost three o'clock by then, and he was finally willing to go back to his room to sleep. I was so tired!"
Franca listened quietly, then said with some concern, "It's rare to see him in this state..."
Franca stopped abruptly at this point.
She remembered that Lumian was still receiving regular therapy from Psychiatrist; perhaps that was his truest self.
"He must have been provoked something last night. I'll go find him and ask him later." After referring to Lumian as a relative, Franca no longer hid her close relationship with Lumian from Jenna.
Jenna nodded:
"Watch your words, don't provoke him."
On the second floor of the Breeze Ballroom, in Lumian's office.
He saw Franca, who had "Invisibility."
"I heard from Jenna that you had some trouble last night?" Franca, dressed in a white Lady's blouse and black trousers, asked casually, "Did you see Madame Pualis That One?"
During lunch with Jenna, she roughly guessed what might have triggered Lumian's Psychological Disorder and caused it to flare up.
Upon hearing Franca's question, Lumian seemed to lose all his strength, collapsing into the swivel chair.
After a pause of more than ten seconds, he finally exhaled and said, "Yes, knowing some of the truth is hard to accept, but I have no choice but to accept it."
Seeing that he was unwilling to elaborate, Franca did not press him, but nodded slightly and said, "Is there anything I can help you with?"
Lumian sat up straight and said without any politeness, "Two things: first, I have many questions about Mysticism and books that I'd like to ask you; second, the Stinger Gang."
"I told you before, after the election, when Hugh Artois becomes Member of Parliament, ' Black Scorpion ' Roger and his team will receive new Gift. At that time, we will all be in danger. Should we launch a surprise attack on 126 Market Avenue tonight before the election results are announced and eliminate this threat?"
Franca for a moment and said, "Based on your description, the ' Warlock ' has a strong home-field advantage. Even if the two of us use our trump cards, we can only say that we have a certain chance of taking down ' Black Scorpion ' Roger and his group, and that's assuming they don't have anything else in their possession."
"But if we don't act now, they'll be even more difficult to deal with after receiving this new round of Gift..."
She hesitated, unable to make up her mind.
It '126 Market Avenue, in that three-story building with a garden.
"Black Scorpion" Roger looked at his Subordinate who had gone to the Market District Member of Parliament Election Committee to inquire, and asked with considerable anticipation, "How did it go?"
The Subordinate exclaimed excitedly, "Mr. Artois is in a commanding lead!"
"Black Scorpion" Roger smiled, and after the Subordinate left, he turned his head to "Baldy" Harman and "Short-legged Candelabrum" Castina and said, "The election results will be announced tomorrow afternoon, and in the evening, ' Lady Moon ' will personally preside over the Ritual and bestow Gift upon us."
"Then we won't have to endure it anymore, that bastard Charles must die!"
