Spoils of war
Lumian was also somewhat dumbfounded.
Is this even possible?
He pondered it carefully and found that it was indeed true— the Mysticism knowledge that came with the Gift only said that if the misfortune was not transferred out, it could not be changed again through the "Fortune Transfer's luck" after returning to its original owner; it did not say that people whose Destiny was changed by items such as the Misfortune Gold Coin could not change their luck again.
Don't underestimate others. Although they are mostly foolish and not very smart, they occasionally have ingenious ideas and unusual methods... As Aurora said, even the most foolish person will eventually succeed once in a thousand attempts... As a "Conspirer," one cannot ignore similar possibilities, otherwise, sooner or later one will be tripped up by the "rope" and fall hard... Lumian learned something from this and gained some experience.
Since his advancement to "Conspirer" has not resulted in any uncontrolled leakage of the Potion's power, and given that he has just clearly digested a small amount of the Potion, he should be able to pray for the "Ascetic's " Gift and achieve a new balance in a few days.
Lumian gazed at the young bull struggling to sit, pondering the question:
"Can this process be repeated indefinitely?"
Buwal's hooves tapped on the Brass-Colored mechanical keyboard, while Jenna read aloud the contents of the paper:
"With each change of fortune, the river of Destiny will Change to some extent, moving forward a bit. This causes the time when misfortune occurs to be earlier and earlier after the change of fortune ends, until it takes effect immediately, and the difficulty of triggering it also increases continuously."
"The Destiny on the Misfortune Gold Coin, after passing through two or three more people, is beyond the reach of the ' Ascetic '; the same applies to the unlucky Banknotes."
"A Mendicant Friar can only maintain the existence of one Destiny item at a time, while Ascetic can maintain two."
The "unlucky Banknotes" refers to a 20- Felkine banknote that was originally kept in a gray-blue cloth bag. The front of the banknote features a bust of Lefvanks, the first president of Intis, and a large Dock on the Serenzo River.
So it wasn't that you didn't want to get more Misfortune Gold Coin, it was that you couldn't... Lumian nodded slowly:
"How many more days can the Misfortune Gold Coin and unlucky Banknotes last?"
"Ten days." The little bull typed out the two Vocabulary quickly.
Franca had heard Lumian mention the "Fortune Transfer," which instructed her and Jenna to carefully distinguish the Spoils of War when facing the Gifted of the Fate Pathway, and not to step on anything they shouldn't.
Listening to their conversation, she muttered silently:
What unlucky Banknotes? I think they're Banknotes earned through risking one's life!
I knew about similar evil arts before Transmigration, but I thought they were fake, feudal superstition. But now it seems that it's because humans' thinking and ideas are similar under similar environmental conditions that even the evil arts they create are quite similar. Or is there trace of Fate Evil God or a similar domain Deity in our world?
Lumian pointed to the two Metal Vial beside the Misfortune Gold Coin and the Unlucky Banknotes and asked, "What are they?"
"They're all Prophecy Potion," Jenna read aloud the sentences the little bull had tapped out.
"Prophecy Potion, huh? I've always found it too troublesome to make again. Besides, if I were to find Corpse and administer the Prophecy Potion, I might be secretly influenced by Termiboros, resulting in inaccurate or misleading results... "Lumian's gaze fell upon another item he had found in Buwal Pompairo's pocket.
It was a Monocle with such an unusual design that Lumian didn't recognize it:
Its main body is a thick, round cover that looks like it's made up of whitish flesh and dark blood vessels, and it seems like it could be worn directly on the ears.
One end of this circular section extends outwards, connecting to a lens made of intertwined transparent purple tubes, within which a trace of Blood-Colored still flows.
Just now, when Franca put on her Gloves and took out this item, she heard a faint, strange, and ethereal sound, but she couldn't make it out.
"What is this?" Lumian asked.
Buwal tapped the keys of his Mechanical Typewriter:
"A dangerous, Mystical Item, I call it the ' Eye of Truth '."
"It seems to have been severely Corruption, leaving only the ability to see through illusions, perceive reality, and discern spiritual light. If worn, one may hear the voices of certain Hidden Being at any time, and suffer uncontrollable negative effects."
"If it's just carried around without any physical contact or attempt to use it, only mild tinnitus and auditory hallucinations may occur."
An incomplete "Mystery-Prying Eye"... Lumian remained silent for several seconds before asking, "Don't you have Ritual Sheepskin, Ritual Dog Skin, or anything like that?"
"There are three Ritual Dog Skin at my house." The young bull was very eager to confide, and he proactively answered all the details that Lumian hadn't asked about, typing them out himself. "Using the Incantation is 'the ring,' and breaking the Incantation is 'the arrangement of Destiny.' Any language that can leverage supernatural power can do it."
"Quite Devout..." Lumian sighed and laughed.
What other valuables do you have in your home?
"There are over 13,000 Banknotes, Gold Coin, bars, and jewelry currently worth 30,000 Felkine, stocks and bonds worth 20,000 Felkine, and property deeds for three houses," the little bull "counted" his possessions.
Stocks? I need to get them quickly and sell them on the black market, otherwise they might drop in price tomorrow! Franca keenly grasped the key words that mattered to her.
The house wasn't easy for the Official Beyonder to find clues about, and it was difficult to convert into Felkine... No wonder he was the liaison for a portion of the "Sinners" organization's followers and their corresponding industries... Lumian immediately inquired about Buwal's residence.
Finally, he inquired about the other liaisons and key members of the "Sinners" organization, but Buwal did not know. They were all in single-line contact with the Samson Family, responsible for their own affairs, and had little interaction with each other, only occasionally meeting once or twice at the Sanson family's house.
Lumian, not immediately deciding on Buwal's Destiny, but instead said to Franca, Jenna, and Anthony Reid, who was waiting outside the door and didn't want Buwal to see them, "Including Pauline's fortune, we will receive 75,000 Felkine, the ' Eye of Truth,' three Ritual Dog Skin, two bottles of Prophecy Potion, a Misfortune Gold Coin, and a bad luck Banknotes."
"You can't take the last two items; only I can carry them. I want the ' Eye of Truth,' a Ritual Dog Skin, and those. You can decide for yourselves what Spoils of War you want."
Jenna turned her gaze to Franca, feeling that this companion had made a significant "sacrifice" and deserved priority in choosing her.
Franca deactivated her Invisibility, thought for a moment, and said, "I want those two bottles of Prophecy Potion and a Ritual Dog Skin. Uh, never mind, I'm not used to that yet. Let's get 15,000 Felkine instead, all in gold!"
Jenna then looked toward the door, gesturing for Anthony Reid to make his choice.
Anthony's voice quickly rang out:
"I need two Ritual Dog Skin; they'll be very useful to me, Charles. I'll need your help when the time comes."
"Okay, add another 20,000 Felkine."
At this point, Jenna discovered that she was left with a full 40,000 Felkine.
She looked at Lumian with some unease:
"I'm just doing your work and paying the interest."
"Working also brings its own Spoils of War," Lumian said with a smile. "Take them all. After advancing to Sequence 7, doesn't it feel like making money has become easier?"
Jenna paused for a few seconds before saying, "Okay, I'll return 25,000 to you and give 15,000 to Franca."
As a result, her total debt instantly dropped by nearly half, and she no longer owed Lumian any money; the speed at which she made money truly exceeded her expectations.
As the young bull Buwal listened to Lumian and his companions discussing the distribution of the Spoils of War, he had a strange feeling, because most of the Spoils of War were, or had been, his.
Seeing that Lumian and the others were focused on their discussion and not paying much attention to him, and even the Witch was originally using her "Invisibility" ability to keep a secret surveillance came out, Buwal's heart suddenly stirred.
He sensed that Lumian was definitely not an "Ascetic," otherwise he wouldn't have asked certain questions earlier. Since the other party wasn't an "Ascetic," it meant that the Ritual Cowhide him most likely came from Guillaume Béné —he hadn't been awakened by the Power of Fate while unconscious, which indicated that the Ritual wasn't performed on-site.
Buwal knew about Incantation Incantation used to create and remove Guillaume Béné's "Animal Transformation" items!
After a considerable period of questioning and answering, Buwal's spirituality had recovered somewhat, and he began to secretly gather his mind in preparation for reciting the Incantation "Your Archbishop".
The first Vocabulary had barely escaped the brown Cowhide when Buwal's gaze sharpened as he noticed Lumian looking at him with a half-smile.
"Snort!"
Two beams of white light swept over, Buwal Past unconscious once again.
Lumian looked at the calf lying on the ground, smiled, and said, "I've tested it. There are no other secrets, except that I possess the Parish Priest's incantation to break the Incantation."
Instead of dealing with Buwal first, he discussed the distribution of the Spoils of War, in order to test what secrets this "Sinners," whose spirituality had recovered somewhat, might still hold.
"Take him away?" Franca asked, glancing at the unconscious bull.
Her underlying meaning was whether or not to take it to the Catacombs Sacrificial Pillar Square, where it was possible that some of the Gift Power could not return and form extraordinary things.
Lumian thought for a moment and said, "It's too easy to be discovered, so let's handle it here."
He couldn't locate any area within the Catacombs from the outside, making it difficult to Teleportation Buwal inside. Passing through the various entrances would alert the Catacombs Administrator, who would either stop him or directly "call the police."
"Okay." Franca paused for two seconds, then said with a hint of anticipation, "I was just thinking of trying out the ' Prophecy Potion '."
This requires a Corpse that has been dead for less than seven days and has not been purified or turned into ashes.
Lumian stood up and pointed to the door:
"Wait until Buwal is completely dead before calling me in."
His presence at the scene, carrying the "Torture" gloves, could cause Mutation in the return of the Gift Power.
Franca hummed in agreement, turned to look at Jenna, and said with a smile, "You do this. This is your chance to Acting the ' Witch '."
"Can this be used to Acting of a ' Witch '?" Jenna had previously felt that the Sequence name "Witch" was too abstract and general, and she couldn't think of an intuitive and specific way to Acting the role.
Franca smiled and said, "In the Mysticism, ' Witch ' are seen as feminine forces that bring Calamity, and at the same time possess qualities such as mystery, evil, and power."
"Imagine a Women killing a human with Black Flame, pouring strange potions into his Corpse, and making it make Prophecy about the Future —isn't that incredibly Evil, mysterious, and Witch- like?"
