Minor Arcana
Jenna tells the three "Purifier" that while investigating the "Hostel," she and Charles encountered Half-Mechanical Monks from Deep Valley Monastery Underground. They found him carrying a bunch of Paint and Paintbrush. During their further exploration, the two encountered Tunnel collapse amidst Earthquake- like commotion and fell directly into the Painted World.
"You've just fallen into the Painted World like that?" Imre interrupted Jenna's story in disbelief.
What a coincidence!
It's so clever that even bestselling novelists wouldn't dare write it like this!
Valentine muttered to himself, "Could it be Miracle from Divine Descent?"
"Yes, I couldn't believe it at the time." Jenna truthfully recounted her reaction when she first saw the Market District in the painting.
Angoulême pressed Subordinate, signaling Imre and Valentine not to press the matter further and to let Celia Bello continue.
Jenna highlighted Safali and Gabriel's descriptions of the "Hostel," her and Charles's desperate escape, and the attacks on the two Fairy and other "rooms."
After determining what "Hostel" and "room" represented and what their significance was, Valentine had a sudden inspiration, fell into deep thought, and began to make certain associations:
Each 'room' has a 'resident,' which is equivalent to possessing a powerful inner strength, some of which can be released...
"Where have I seen this before...?"
Images and pieces of information flashed through Valentine's mind. He abruptly looked up, interrupting Jenna's narration once more:
What is Charles's true identity?
The "Purifier" already knew when they issued the arrest warrant that Charles Dubois was a fake identity created for that guy by the Savoie Gang. Police Headquarters are currently Interrogation the arrested Savoie Gang members to see if they know anything about Charles Dubois's background.
Jenna that Charles, who was already wanted, could no longer conceal his true identity. After a moment's consideration, she smiled faintly and said, "You didn't know?"
"His real Lumian Lee, and he was also a wanted criminal from the southern Cordou Village."
Lumian Lee... Valentine's eyelids twitched, realizing that his guesses and suspicions were actually correct.
Janna glanced at him and softly "explained," "Charles joined the Sava Party and the so-called 'Iron Blood Cross' just to acquire resources, improve himself, and seek revenge on those evil god's benefactors. He played a very important role in this matter. If it weren't for his investigation, the 'Hotel Ritual' wouldn't have been brought forward, and the disaster would have been even more severe."
"Although he always said it was to fight those Evil God Gift-Bearers, I knew that having experienced a Calamity himself, he didn't want to see other innocent people suffer the same fate."
Valentine's expression gradually relaxed, and he made no attempt to hide his regret and relief.
He sighed and said, "He was indeed Devout believer in God, but Destiny and those evil ones pushed him into darkness."
"Devout believer... you seem to have some unnecessary misunderstanding about Charles... "Jenna muttered silently.
After listening, Angoulême chuckled self-deprecatingly:
"Unexpectedly, the person who prevented last night's Calamity from escalating was a wanted criminal, a member of an evil organization."
"You can be a hero even without standing in the light."
Jenna agreed with this assessment. She didn't mention that the Fairy called Lumian "Room 1," but only said that in order to escape the Painted World, after Sun, the two of them entered the darkness corresponding to the location of the Breeze Ballroom and miraculously appeared in the Wilderness outside Fourth Epoch Trier.
She told the Purifiers about the collapsed Grayish-White Stone Pillars, the Giant figure in the distance, the seemingly dead General Philip, the black Statue of the "Primordial Witch Purifier," Gardner Martin in the mirror, the terrifying roars, the falling Sun, the reddening sky, and the falling fire rain, but she didn't go into the details of the battle.
Angoulême and the others tacitly refrained from asking—for Wild Beyonder, information that clearly contained important details was valuable and could be sold for money, but their own abilities and fighting styles had to be kept secret.
"Finally, we obtained the Statue and the fragments left behind by Gardner in the Mirror, left the seal, and returned to the normal Underground." The first half of Jenna's sentence and the second half of the book's sentence don't actually have a direct connection, but putting them together certainly creates an association, leading people to believe that this is the reason they were able to escape Fourth Epoch Trier.
"The complexity of this matter is beyond imagination, and it involves very high-level forces..." Angoulême murmured in amazement.
They had no idea what had happened with the Sun that had risen from the Sacred Heart Monastery the previous night, nor did they understand why it had fallen into the seal of Fourth Epoch Trier. They felt it must be related to the battle at the Angel level.
"What about the Statues and the Mirror Fragments?" Valentine asked eagerly.
"I gave it to Franca," Jenna said, stating the absolute truth.
Angoulême nodded slightly:
"What about that Full-Body Armor?"
This is related to the deaths of two of his former colleagues.
Of course, Gardner Martin's death as a result can be considered a successful "revenge."
"The Magic Mirror Divination said there was a terrifying Betrayal Curse, and Gardner Martin's fate is proof of that. None of us dared to take it, and in the end, we gave it to Charles." Even now, even as a "Witch," Jenna still finds the Curse too outrageous and exaggerated.
Angoulême paused for a moment before saying, "If you run into the Charles again, tell him you can sell us that armor."
After Jenna nodded in agreement, the "Purifier's" Deacon said seriously, "The information you provided is extremely important. What kind of reward do you want?"
"The ' Pleasure ' Potion Formula and all the ingredients," Jenna replied, her plan to start with a high price and then gradually negotiate.
This is based on her years of experience in bargaining.
Angoulême glanced at the "Witch" and said, "You're also planning to leave the Market District?"
"Yes." Jenna smiled sadly and self-deprecatingly. "' Witch ' bring Calamity, and I don't want to affect the people here. No wonder Witch in stories always live in dark forests, far away from people. But I will come back occasionally, still as your informant. You can continue to contact me using the agreed-upon method."
Her slightly melancholic smile made Imre instinctively want to look away, afraid of being drawn into it.
"Once we confirm the authenticity of your information, we will help you apply for the recipe and materials for ' Pleasure.' I can't guarantee whether we'll succeed. We can't decide on items of this level on our own; we need permission from higher-ups," Angoulême promised without haggling.
After saying goodbye to the "Purifier," Jenna carried her suitcase, took a carriage, and went to the Franca Safe House in the Memorial Hall District.
After settling herself in, she pondered for a moment and decided to go to the "The Fool's " Church at Lavigny Docks to thank this great being for answering her prayers and allowing Charles to enter the Painted World to help her.
This also marked the beginning of her formal acceptance of Mr. The Fool.
Inside the simple Church with its clear windows and plenty of natural light, Jenna sat on the edge of the last row of chairs, closed her eyes, clasped her hands together, placed them on her chest, and bowed her head in prayer.
In the tranquil serenity of that religious place, she seemed to fall into a deep sleep, her mind blank, simply filled with praise.
She vaguely sensed someone sitting down next to her.
Jenna ignored her and focused on her prayer.
A few minutes later, she opened her eyes and saw a petite Lady beside her also praying.
The Lady had shoulder-length blond hair, wore comfortable trousers and a somewhat Men shirt, and a brown jacket over them.
Although her eyes were closed, you could tell from the side that her eyebrows and the lines of her mouth and nose were quite delicate. She was not tall, but she had a calm and dignified temperament.
Noticing Jenna's casual gaze, the Lady opened her eyes, turned her head, and smiled, "Jenna?"
"Yes... and you are?" Jenna was both puzzled and wary, but she also felt that there shouldn't be any danger inside Mr. The Fool's Church.
That One Lady appeared significantly younger than her age, introduced herself, "I am the ' Two of Cups,' also known as Franca's Major Arcana, ' Judgement.'"
"I went to Mr. The Fool's Church to pray today, and I never expected to run into you. Perhaps it was Destiny. How about we draw Minor Arcana?"
Sensing the friendliness in the other person's tone, Jenna nodded, drawn in by the subtly convincing aura, and said, "I'd be happy to, Lady ' Judgement '."
If it were any other Major Arcana, she would instinctively feel worried and afraid, after all, they were completely unfamiliar and powerful figures. But she had already heard about the two Lady, "Judgement" and "The Magician," from Franca and Lumian, and had a natural affinity and trust for them.
"Judgement" took out a stack of Tarot Cards from a small black pouch hanging from his waist, casually sliced them a few times, and handed them Past with a smile:
"Go ahead and smoke."
Jenna was inexplicably nervous. After looking at it for a while, she finally stretched out her right hand and drew a Minor Arcana.
Her gaze fell upon seven cups floating in the mist on the cards, below which were skulls and figures gazing at them.
"' Seven of Cups '." The "Judgement" Lady chuckled. "This represents confusion, bewilderment, Dream, illusions, and choices. Of course, that's not important. What's important is that both of our ' Tarot Club's' ' Witch ' drew the Cups card."
As she spoke, she took out another Tarot Cards, the front of which depicted an angel blowing a trumpet to guide the Angel of the dead.
Major Arcana, "Judgement"!
"Keep this card. When you encounter a danger you can't handle, take it out and recite 'Request for Judgement ' in Hermetic. As long as I'm still in Trier, I can help you. Of course, you must also be in Trier when you make the request, well, except for places like Fourth Epoch Trier, where I can't hear you." The "Judgement" Lady said calmly.
"Thank you, ' Judgement ' Lady," Jenna said sincerely as she took the Major Arcana.
"Judgement" nodded and said, "What you need to do now is to cooperate with ' Two of Cups ' to carry out the Witch Sect's mission, but the direction is different. You need to avoid the Witch Sect and investigate those special Mirror World. That One ' Calamity Witch ' Krismona, who fell in the Fourth Epoch, is the entry point."
"She is the child of the ' Primordial Witch,' so she is a natural Women, a pure Women Witch, just like you."
