The city that "didn't exist"
The children of the "Primordial Witch" must be born Women? Jenna, recalling the Sequence name "Witch," vaguely understood why.
Even at birth, God's offspring couldn't possibly be Ordinary Person, or only Sequence 9 or Sequence 8, right?
"Okay," Jenna agreed.
The fact that her first mission in the Tarot Club didn't require her to separate from her companions and that she could adventure on her own put her at ease.
The Lady "Judgement" responded with a smile:
"Let me give you a brief introduction to our Tarot Club..."
After leaving Apartment 601 at No. 3 White Coat Street, Anthony Reid felt a wave of drowsiness wash over him, a result of not having slept all night.
As a "Psychiatrist," his physical fitness hadn't improved much. Last night, he not only stayed up until dawn but also suffered serious injuries. He survived only thanks to the blood-sucking Obsidian Broken Arrow, but he also lost a lot of blood and became weak. Afterward, he went through a lot of physically demanding activities such as running and fighting. Now, he was naturally exhausted and wanted to find a bed to lie down immediately.
At times like this, he was quite envious of the "Hunter." Lumian was only one Sequence higher than him, and he hadn't slept yet either. He was also a key player in both battles, yet he showed no signs of fatigue and was full of energy, as if he could kill another Gardner Martin.
Anthony Reid forced himself to wander into the Messy Street, entered a brown-gray house, and went to a corner on the Third Layer.
This is his Safe House, an Apartment that has been vacant for a long time.
He felt that renting rooms from Landlord or Broker as Safe House wasn't really safe. As long as he had contact with people, there was a risk of being betrayed or tracked down. Using his identity Information Broker, he gained access to several vacant or abandoned Apartment in the Market District for various reasons. If anything seemed amiss, he would randomly choose one to hide in and avoid contact with anyone.
Anthony didn't mind the dusty Bed and moldy blankets; he lay down and quickly fell into a deep sleep.
In a hazy, confused Dream, he suddenly regained his Rationality and became somewhat lucid.
He saw Market Avenue ahead, with a Café bustling with people and doing very good business.
Following a strange intuition, Anthony Reid walked past the Golden Dog squatting at the entrance of the Café and came to Booth D by the window.
There sat a Lady wearing a light green and white Long Dress. Anthony felt he should have seen her face clearly, and even been impressed by her, but he just couldn't form a clear image in his mind.
It's as if he has collected all the information, but his brain, or "Mental Body," is unable to process it.
"Good morning, I am ' Justice '." That One Lady introduced herself in a soft voice, with a hint of lightness in her tone.
"Justice"... Anthony had already heard Lumian and Franca talk about their Concealment organization called "The Tarot Club," whose members were codenamed by different Tarot Cards. The Major Arcana represented the Core Member, each of whom was Half-God, Minor Arcana represented the peripheral members, belonging to different Major Arcana.
"Justice" is undoubtedly a Major Arcana.
"Will you be my Major Arcana?" Anthony asked respectfully, sitting down opposite him.
"Justice" smiled:
"You can choose to change it; Destiny is not unchangeable."
"Of course, some beings don't see it that way."
The opposing team's Major Arcana was quite friendly, not putting any pressure on him, and even cracking jokes, which eased Anthony's tension considerably.
He quietly exhaled and said, "I can draw the cards now."
As soon as he finished speaking, a stack of Tarot Cards appeared before him.
Anthony habitually picked a card from the middle and placed it on the table.
The cards in the Minor Arcana are:
A man carrying a sword sits beneath three hanging swords.
"Four of Swords"!
"You've let go of your inner burdens. The rest and accumulation you're doing now are for going further in the future. As a ' Psychiatrist,' this card is also telling you to always pay attention to your mind. We may take on new burdens at any time, and we need to know how to accept, accommodate, and resolve them." Lady. "Justice" interpreted the meaning of this Minor Arcana.
A new stack of Tarot Cards appeared in front of her, but it contained less than half the number of cards as the previous stack.
She casually drew a card and placed it in the center of the table.
The card depicts the goddess of justice seated on a stone chair, holding a sword and scales.
The Major Arcana, "Justice"!
After pushing the "Justice" card to Anthony, That One Lady smiled and said, "You now have two tasks. First, cooperate with the ' Two of Cups ' to help her eliminate the ' Person in the Mirror ' and investigate the problems of the Witch Sect. Second, try to make contact with a Concealment organization called the ' Psychic Alchemy Association '..."
"The Psychic Alchemy Association"... Anthony chewed on the name.
After explaining the mission, "Justice" turned to ask, "Did they tell you which Great Ones we are following and the specifics of the ' Tarot Club '?"
"All I know is that you follow a Orthodox God called ' The Fool,' and use Tarot Cards as your code names in imitation of His name," Anthony said truthfully.
Before he officially joined the "Tarot Club," Lumian and Franca didn't say much.
"Justice" laughed:
"Then please allow me to introduce you to our Beacon and Savior, the great ' The Fool '..."
There was a hint of pleasure in her tone.
After leaving the Safe House in Lugano Toscano, Lumian took a carriage to the Botanical Garden District, turned onto the street with the same name as the Stone Slab Street in the Market District, and entered the Safe House he had rented before.
He glanced at the little boy Ludwig, who was sitting on the sofa reading a novel and eating dessert, and scoffed, "Even if you've escaped the Church of Knowledge, you can't be this decadent, all you do is read novels!"
"A grumpy fellow sent you a letter; it's in your bedroom," Ludwig, abruptly changing the subject.
"A bad-tempered fellow?" Lumian frowned slightly.
"Wearing a Golden dress... like Doll," Ludwig replied without looking up, the pause in between being to take a bite of what was supposedly a specialty of the Kingdom of Loen.
Ms. "Magician"'s messenger... Lumian asked in confusion, "Why is she angry with you?"
"I saw her, and then we had a fight," Ludwig said, not too bothered.
"Just a fight? She didn't hang you up and beat you?" Lumian muttered silently as she walked into the bedroom and picked up the folded letter paper on the Desk.
This letter differs from the one that awarded the prize; it primarily answers the questions Lumian raised after receiving the "0-01" data.
This should be an indication from the Church of Knowledge:
"If you can rise to a high position, they are willing to provide some assistance, and may even tacitly allow you to take away that Sealed Artifact."
"Of course, there are two prerequisites: first, you must become Saint of Sequence 4, possess Divinity, and be qualified to enter the chessboard; second, you must have a way to carry that Sealed Artifact without causing harm to the surrounding humans and environment."
"If these two things cannot be done, the Church of Knowledge cannot provide clear support."
"The fact that becoming Half-God and being unable to approach '0-01' at Sequence 5 or above is contradictory. There may be a hidden message here, which tells you that after you prove that you have the ability to advance to Sequence 4, before actually holding the Ritual and taking the Potion, you should enter the ' Banishment City ' Morola, approach '0-01', leave a mark or do something to lay the foundation for mastering it when you step into High-Sequence."
"I can't see the specifics of what will be done yet."
In short, if you demonstrate and prove your potential, the Church of Knowledge is willing to support you in competing with ' Red Angel ' Medici for the position of ' Red Priest '. Surprised? Excited?
Surprise? More like shock! Lumian had never truly imagined that he could become True God.
Although his faith is not so Devout, he grew up in such a social environment and has not been in the Mysticism World for long, so he is unlikely to have the idea that "I can become a god, I want to become a god too".
Lumian had already witnessed the terror and power of "Red Angel" Medici in Fourth Epoch Trier.
The thought of having to contend with such a being for the position of "Red Priest" instinctively felt absurd and meaningless to him.
"What's the fundamental difference between this and what Aurora jokingly said during her fighting class, 'Alright, you've mastered the basic fighting skills, now you can go slay the gods'?"
In a flash, Lumian suddenly muttered to himself:
"If I become True God, can I Resurrection Aurora...?"
After a moment of silence, he laughed self-deprecatingly, "Even Deity fall, and they themselves may not be able to be Resurrection."
"The ' Magician ' Lady that the ' Pride Armor's' Betrayal Curse stemmed from the hatred and resentment of Deity before his fall... But according to the information she provided, the ' Pride Armor ' first appeared at the end of the previous all-out war in the Northern Continent, when a True God had fallen?"
"The ' Pride Armor ' ability clearly belongs to the ' Warrior ' Pathway... The one who fell was a ' God of Combat '? But in the Feysac Empire, the Church the God of Combat is still doing well, uh, that's what the newspapers, magazines, and merchants are saying..."
Lumian thought for a while without reaching a conclusion, then turned his attention back to the letter:
"Actually, I never intended for you to pursue the position of ' Red Priest ' before. I just felt that you, who are sealed with Angel and Destiny has Change, have the potential to become High-Sequence individual. Now, follow your heart, and our Tarot Club can also provide support."
"In addition, there is one point to note:"
"I took a tour of Lenburg and asked several local scholars who were known for their extensive knowledge, but none of them had ever heard of Morola, the ' Banishment City '."
"To the general public, and even among the lower-ranking Clergy of the Church of Knowledge, this was a non-existent, Recording city."
