The changing nightmare
As Julie saw her reflection in the mirror gradually stained with blood, her expression turned cold, and a hint of malice appeared in her eyes.
She wasn't surprised at all; instead, she curled her lips into a mocking smile.
Julie in the mirror suddenly became agitated, gripping the glass with both hands, trying to pry a crack out with her fingernails.
Her face Distortion rapidly, the malice in her eyes almost tangible.
Not long after, another figure appeared behind her— Men figure with Brown Short Hair.
The Men bore a striking resemblance to Julie, with a face covered in blood and a sinister, malevolent expression, just like Julie's in the mirror.
Julie ran her thumb over the Gold Ring set with Blue Gemstone and saw her Women and Men selves rapidly shrink and fade, revealing their current environment.
It was a deep, dark world, almost devoid of light.
Beyond this world, countless points of light, representing different Mirror, are densely distributed around it. Most of them are affected by the seal of Morola, making them appear blurry and difficult to touch.
Julie's gaze quickly swept over the few remaining relatively clear spots of light, then, following her "Witch's" spiritual intuition, she looked at one of the Mirror.
A dark, shadowy figure was reflected in the Mirror.
Seemingly sensing Julie's gaze, the figure abruptly shrank back and moved away from the Mirror.
Julie immediately reached her hand into the mirror, and her entire body passed through Past.
Ignoring the Curse and rants of her two reflections in the mirror, she Teleportation directly to the Mirror that had previously shown her shadow.
She emerged from a small Mirror and discovered that it was a long-abandoned room, with all traces erased.
Julie turned to the window next to the Mirror and began to observe the outside environment.
What came into view was Cemetery Slumber under the Crimson Moonlight, a Library- like Church, and the entrance to the Underground Mausoleum that could be clearly seen.
After a brief silence, Julie murmured to herself, "' The Person in the Mirror ' really came in..."
The second floor of the "Carnivore" Bar.
Lumian leaned back in his chair, propped his feet up, and intently read the book in his hands.
It's still early, I can study a little longer!
He told Julie about the "Person in the Mirror" so that he could use the power of the Witch Sect to confirm and find it. After all, as a "Hunter," he couldn't use the Mirror World on his own, and the "Mirror Buckle," being an external object, could only be used twice more.
Just as Lumian remembered Archbishop of Morola Heraberg's instructions from Morola and was about to finish his studies and sleep in for a few more minutes that night, there was a knock on his door.
Julie was standing outside the door.
Julie nodded slightly at Lumian:
"A ' Person in the Mirror ' was discovered spying on the Underground Mausoleum, but we couldn't catch him."
"Only one?" Lumian asked, as if confirming.
Julie hummed in agreement.
There is only one.
After saying that, she turned around and walked towards her room.
Lumian chuckled, "Not only did you fail to catch them, you didn't even see what they looked like, did you?"
He spoke in a very low voice, as if talking to himself, but the volume was just enough for Julie to hear.
Julie turned to the side and responded with a sneer:
"At least it's better than those who can't even find a trace of the ' Person in the Mirror ' and need me to confirm it."
Lumian pretended to be speechless, then retorted defiantly, "I'm just asking you to play your pitiful, insignificant role."
Julie ignored him and went into the room.
Lumian chuckled inwardly and closed the Wooden Door.
Now, Julie probably isn't so wary that he can also use the Mirror World, right?
In a daze, Lumian saw the earth stained with blood, the collapsed magnificent buildings, and the Iron-Black giant pillars that stood in different parts of the Ruins, stretching straight into the sky, most of them already broken.
Lumian walked forward purely on instinct, passing through a Burning Palace, through a torrential Torrential Rain, and through Forest of Thunder that constantly struck the ground.
He stopped in front of a Corpse.
The Corpse was charred black, and its face looked as if the skin had been peeled off, leaving only the scorched Skull.
Behind it were Corpse and skeletons, piled up to form Mountain Peak hundreds of meters high.
Lumian's gaze followed the Corpse, moving upwards, occasionally colliding with the Paleness or dark red Flames Burning in their Eye Sockets.
Finally, he was about to see the top of the "Mountain Peak".
Suddenly, a strong sense of fear welled up inside him, along with an urge to abandon thinking and simply obey orders.
He sat up abruptly, opened his eyes, and gasped for breath.
I had another Nightmare...
"The Nightmare images are becoming clearer, and they're happening more frequently..."
Lumian turned his gaze to the Underground of Morola, and subconsciously reached out his right hand, as if to touch something.
He grasped only air.
He quickly calmed down and muttered to himself, "Given the current situation and the pace of development, if I really finish reading the remaining books, these Nightmare caused by Corruption might actually undergo a qualitative change..."
What would that bring me?
"If the Nightmare were any clearer, if the feeling any more intense, I might Loss of Control right there in the dream. Then Albus, Julie, Vanak would have the luck to challenge the Angel —no, the Church of Knowledge would probably eliminate the problem immediately. Having sealed Ludwig, they wouldn't mind sealing another one..."
Lumian raised his hand and rubbed his temples, increasingly convinced that Archbishop of Morola Heraberg of Morola was right:
We can't rush the schedule; we need to maintain our physical and mental health!
Even if it's Corruption, we must proceed gradually!
Whew... Lumian let out a breath, believing that in another five or six days, after he finished reading the borrowed books, the situation would definitely Change significantly, in a way that would Change him.
"But can the situation really remain stable until I finish my studies?"
"Albus hasn't shown up for several days since his last injury; I wonder what he's been doing in secret..."
"Vanak regained control of Dardus Agricultural Company, but no longer had a fixed office location or sleeping quarters..."
"Sallys's shift over the Underground Mausoleum is both dangerous and an opportunity. She has likely used this opportunity to advance the Witch Sect's plans one step further. Julie's waiting time may be coming soon..."
Will they let me focus on my studies until I finish reading the remaining books?
"I'm afraid not..."
Lumian muttered to himself that Albus, Vanak, and one of the Witch Sect would likely make a big move in the next few days, something involving the Underground Mausoleum.
They may not be aware of the importance of studying or that Lumian is studying diligently, but they should be able to sense that if they delay any longer, the situation will become increasingly unfavorable for them!
We cannot underestimate the spiritual intuition of the "Witch," nor can we underestimate the perceptions of those in High-Ranking Being behind Albus and Vanak!
Trier, Memorial Hall District, 9 Orosei Street, Apartment 702.
Franca was smug and self-satisfied with her success in planning and executing an ambush against the formidable "Person in the Mirror".
This gave her a greater sense of accomplishment than when she was commanding a raid team in a game before Transmigration.
She pointed to the Cash and Scroll on the Coffee Table and said, "Let's divide the Spoils of War. You guys go first."
Using the "Magic Mirror Divination," the two "Witch" have determined the effects of several Scroll and the Incantation required to activate them.
There was a Scroll "Sun", a Scroll for "Healing", and one scroll each for "Lightning Strike", "Burning", "Flash", "Wind", "Freezing", "Paralysis", and "Concealment Voice".
Anthony turned to the side, gesturing for Jenna to choose first.
Jenna knew that being polite was useless and a waste of time. After thinking for a few seconds, she directly took the three Scroll: "Sun," "Lightning Strike," and "Flash."
Anthony chose "Heal," "Paralysis," and "Freezing," leaving 460 Felkine and the last three Scroll for Franca.
Franca picked up the "Concealment Voice" Scroll and said with a smile, "This is perfect, suitable for someone to command an operation, and you all don't want it."
The function of "Concealment Voice" is to create a Concealment passage connecting all three to five people, with a maximum distance of fifty meters. This allows the words spoken and the sounds made by each person to be transmitted to their companions through this passage without being heard by outsiders or blocked by walls or other obstacles.
"If you don't want it, you can leave it to Lumian..." Jenna muttered to herself, but couldn't bear to say it aloud to hurt Franca.
As the three were talking, the Messenger of the "Judgement" Lady brought a reply:
"The ' Moses Ascetic Order ' will handle the abnormality in Kemolo; you don't need to follow up anymore."
In Trier, in a room where tables and chairs have been overturned and Paper are scattered all over the floor.
Franca and the others had previously met the "Hermit" of the Major Arcana the Tarot Club. He was wearing a pair of glasses with dark rims and a dark Robe with purple eye-shaped patterns. He stood in front of a wall covered with meaningless lines, examining the inconspicuous black blood and traces on the ground that looked like dried tears and saliva.
Before her, a nearly transparent, eyelash-less, and unusually indifferent eye silently watched everything, its pupils seemingly containing countless glittering stars, or perhaps all sorts of scenes it witnessed.
After a while, the "Hermit" ignored the blackened bloodstains and took a small amount of powder that appeared to have been stained with tears and saliva.
A dreamlike carriage made of pumpkins appeared in front of her, and her appearance, temperament, and figure were thus altered.
The Hermit calmly sat down.
Then, a group of Rat pulled the Pumpkin Carriage into a Tunnel outside the Trier Catacombs.
The "Hermit" remained seated inside the Pumpkin Carriage, a bright, unreal Ball of Yarn materializing in his hand.
The owner of the Major Arcana mixed the previously extracted powder into Ball of Yarn and then tossed it away.
The Ball of Yarn rolled into the Depths of the dark Tunnel, leaving a bright red thread on the ground to Guidance the way forward.
