A wondrous experience
Lumian released his grip, pressed his hand to his left chest, silently praised "The Fool," and then led Amandina down the slope through the Gray-White mist.
Amandina felt increasingly uncomfortable in her current state as she walked. The icy coldness emanating from her very core made her feel as if she were already dead and Corpse, while it seemed as if another version of herself was trying to tear and break out of her body.
"Shall we go back?" she said hesitantly to Lumian.
"We're almost there." Lumian pointed in the direction from which the faint sound of illusory water was coming, then added, "If you really decide to go back now, I can grant your request."
Amandina hesitated for a few seconds:
"They're already at the edge..."
Wouldn't going back now be a wasted trip?
Lumian chuckled and said, "Don't worry, if it really gets to the point where it's unbearable, I'll definitely be faster than you to run away."
"Your words make me even more worried..." Amandina whispered back.
Lumian continued walking, then thought for a moment and said, "Wait, when I tell you to close your eyes, close them; when I tell you to open them, open them immediately."
"Okay." In this situation, Amandina had no choice but to trust Lumian.
Soon, the Gray Fog in front of them thinned out, revealing a spring the size of a pond.
Paleness water gushed from the spring, surrounded by indescribably dark objects.
Amandina saw a patch of wet, seaweed-like black hair floating in the water, with several faint figures seemingly hidden at the bottom, struggling to climb out as if they had just drowned.
At the same time, she noticed a woman lingering by the spring, dressed in a white robe, with flowing black hair, exquisitely beautiful features, and a holy aura that seemed to belong to Lady who didn't belong in a tomb.
Amandina was immediately captivated. Had the Lady not had a dull, cold gaze, lacking any semblance of Charm, and had the spring water not retracted into the dark, impenetrable hole, she might not have been able to resist.
Lumian also saw Krismona's figure, and several thoughts suddenly flashed through his mind:
"We can bring Jenna here so she can meet Krismona directly, instead of having to wait until promotions every time..."
"The Krismona here is more like a wandering Ghost, Ghost bound around the ' Samaritan Woman Spring.' Whether she can communicate normally, whether she will indiscriminately attack any ' Witch ' who approaches her, and whether this will cause any anomalies are all unknown..."
"We need to figure out a way to confirm this before bringing Jenna in..."
Seeing that neither Klee nor the Shadows figures of Book Simona glanced at him, Lumian turned his head to Amandina and said, "You can close your eyes now."
"Okay." Amandina sensed a kind of fear and obediently closed her eyes.
Lumian then took two steps forward and reached the edge of the "Samaritan Woman Spring".
The next second, Amandina heard the rushing sound of spring water and felt a violent and crazy aura descend upon her.
She couldn't help but tremble, her knees felt weak.
At the same time, she also experienced hallucinations, believing that multiple Daoist were approaching her, each Daoist was extremely terrifying, the kind that would give her Nightmare if she saw them, or that encountering them would lead to a gruesome death.
Amandina cried out in fear:
"Go back!
"I want to go back!"
As she screamed, the violent and frenzied aura subsided, and the multiple Daoist in her hallucinations disappeared.
Lumian's deep voice rang in her ears:
"You can open your eyes now."
Amandina emerged from the extreme fear and relaxed a little.
Without hesitation, she opened her eyes.
She saw that familiar figure, wearing a strange, rusty iron crown, with skin as clear as jade, a white beard that swayed gently, and a figure that was quite old.
At this moment, the old man sat cross-legged in the deep hole, which was shaking violently, as if something unknown was trying to squeeze out.
Amandina's gaze fell upon those deep, dark Eyes, as dark as the Evernight.
Her thoughts suddenly became blurred, as if she saw a rotting, pus-filled hand with strange feathers reach out and press it on her head.
She also heard an old, dull, cold, and Cavern voice ringing in her ears.
But she couldn't understand what the voice was saying.
After an unknown amount of time, Amandina regained consciousness. That One old man was no longer in her sight; instead, she saw only the dark earth devoid of the Paleness spring water and Lumian squatting beside the spring, holding a Golden Vial and catching the dripping water.
Lumian and the others had, of course, reported Amandina's situation to the Major Arcana before daring to bring her into the area around the "Samaritan Woman Spring," and the "Magician" Lady even asked him to fetch some more water from the "Samaritan Woman Spring."
"What's the purpose of this water?" Amandina asked curiously, no longer so tense and fearful.
"If your enemy drinks it, he will die instantly," Lumian said casually.
Amandine's eyes lit up and she said doubtfully, "How can I make my enemy drink it..."
Lumian retrieved the Golden Vial, stood up, and asked, "What did you just see? What did you experience?"
Amandina recalled and recounted all the details, then reflected, "But I couldn't understand what they were saying, the pronunciation was %¥..."
"I think I've gained a new ability—to Soothing the soul and calm emotions and desires..."
Lumian carefully memorized the pronunciations Amandina had relayed, then walked back to the girl's side and said, "You have received a new Gift, ' Soul Soother '."
"Yes," Amandina laughed, "I feel like my body has changed a little..."
Lumian chuckled:
"Perhaps you will slowly grow a white beard and wrinkles. I have heard that Gift will gradually bring the Gift closer to Gift High-Ranking Being the power upon them, both spiritually and physically."
Amandina was startled:
"Can I... can I not take it?"
"Let's try taking Potion that works for the Pathway and see if it can counteract the effect." Lumian walked past Amandina and up the slope leading to the Tomb Chamber.
Amandina followed closely behind, lost in thought.
Until Lumian and Amandina left the Catacombs, Franca, Jenna, and Anthony never saw Harrison, the Resurrection Island Visitor.
"It didn't appear?" Franca frowned. "My guess was wrong. Special characteristics alone aren't enough to achieve a powerful Aggregation? Does that mean only High-Ranking Being at the Angel level can actively utilize the Law of Convergence?"
Jenna's Eyes flickered slightly as she thought for a moment before saying, "Perhaps Harrison could sense this deliberate Aggregation and took some precautions... Perhaps, perhaps he isn't a follower of the ' Death God,' 'Darkness,' or ' Twilight ' Pathway. He may have a deep understanding of death and be pursuing related things and scenes, but that doesn't mean he's Beyonder of those Pathway. What if he's a scholar who studies death?"
"Possibly," Franca sighed. "Let's wait five more minutes, then we'll go after Lumian and Amandina."
Harrison, the Resurrection Island Visitor, never showed up until the group met at Apartment 702, 9 Orosei Street.
"Thank you, I can help you now," Amandina said, looking at Franca.
Franca looked at the girl, who seemed somewhat exhausted from experiencing the terrifying scene, and smiled, saying, "No need to rush. Go back first, and we'll come back once you've adapted to your newfound power and regained your balance."
"Anyway, it's quite convenient to get from Port Pylos to Trier."
Where is it convenient? People who don't go through the Mirror World or "Teleportation" might not be able to arrive for two or three months... Amandina muttered silently for a moment, then accepted Franca's suggestion.
Then, Lumian and the others used "Black Tear" to send her back to the Mirror that Franca had given her, and she crawled out.
At this moment, the night outside was still dark, and servants occasionally passed by in the corridor.
Looking at her familiar bedroom, at the Fountain Pen on her Desk and the piles of books, Amandina suddenly felt as if she had been gone for many days and had experienced so much.
But it's only been half a night.
During that half-night, she traveled back and forth through the Mirror World, visiting the bustling Trier, which was farther away than the distant horizon, exploring the Catacombs featured in the magazine, and witnessing the horrors surrounding the "Samaritan Woman Spring."
After savoring the moment for a while, Amandina exclaimed sincerely, "It's True God..."
"A wonderful trip..."
Trier, 9 Orosei Street, Apartment 702.
Lumian tried to repeat the sounds that Amandina had heard.
Franca listened intently, then hesitated before saying, "It sounds like it... Be careful, Penglai..."
"Beware of Penglai? That Penglai Mountain that Armored Wraith mentioned? It's not really relevant to us..." Lumian said thoughtfully.
Jenna and Anthony both nodded.
"Yes," Franca quickly regained her composure, "But we've at least achieved one of our goals. In a few days, we can summon the Armored Wraith with Amandina!"
When the time comes, she plans to first try to ask Mr. "Stars" what the text in the documents means.
I'm actually quite excited just thinking about it!
After chatting for a while, Anthony, seeing that it was getting late, said goodbye and left to return home.
Jenna glanced at Franca, who was pacing back and forth, looked at Lumian, and quietly pointed to herself.
Lumian slowly shook his head and pointed to himself.
After exchanging glances several times, Jenna, dressed in Vampire makeup, pursed her lips and said to Franca, "I'm leaving now."
"Hmm." Franca didn't say much more; she wanted to talk to Lumian alone about the ancient scripts and the "Curly-Haired Baboon Research Society."
After Jenna left, she sat down in the Armchair and stretched comfortably.
She glanced at Lumian and asked doubtfully, "Sit down, why don't you sit down?"
Lumian looked at Franca and couldn't help but sigh again:
"I have something to tell you."
Franca looked at Lumian's expression suspiciously:
Are you playing a prank? You're the kind of person who can remind everyone with a Library, even if Calamity is about to happen.
"No, you, you're serious? Is this really a serious matter?"
Lumian had just used "Black Tear" to sense all the mirrors in the room and roughly confirmed that there was no "Black Witch" watching.
He looked at Franca, instinctively wanting to force a smile to appear more relaxed, but he couldn't manage it.
Franca sat up straight involuntarily.
Lumian spoke in a low voice:
"Jenna asked me to help digest the ' Pleasure ' Potion."
