Background / History
Childhood and tribal hardship
Allen and Roger grew up together because their parents were close friends. Allen was slightly older, and his early progress in earth cultivation allowed him to support Roger through their difficult years in the Fire Rhino Tribe 1.
Allen’s parents were both Lowgods. They died during the Black Bat Tribe’s previous invasion, as did Roger’s parents. Without deity-level protection, the two surviving Sanctuaries had no right to retain their parents’ Godheads 3 4.
They worked as Fire Rhino herders under Shaluba, a Water Lowgod who mistreated his Sanctuary subordinates. Allen repeatedly warned Roger against approaching deities’ sparring sessions, then cared for him after one such incident left him unconscious for two and a half days 1 2.
Supporting Roger’s cultivation
When Roger gained an insight into the Death Edict, Allen fed their four Fire Rhinos and watched over him. He subsequently volunteered to handle tree-cutting, patrols, night watches, and other chores so Roger could cultivate without distractions 3.
Allen also sacrificed some of his own cultivation time to guard Roger’s seclusion. Roger’s eventual ascension to Lowgod moved him to tears: it meant an end to their years of humiliation and dependence on Shaluba 4 5.
After they moved into the River Valley Residential Area, Roger entrusted Allen with managing 400 Sanctuaries and 1,000 Fire Rhinos. Within a year, Allen had effectively become Roger’s chief steward, delegating routine work while retaining time for his own cultivation 7 8.
War with the Black Bat Tribe
Allen alerted Roger when the Black Bat Tribe launched its surprise attack. During the battle, he killed an enemy Lowgod whom Roger had restrained with his Midgod domain; Roger then ordered him to retreat when the opposing Lowgods gathered for a coordinated attack 18 19.
Allen cheered Shaluba’s death during the fighting. After Roger killed Black Bat, Allen kicked the chief’s corpse in anger over their parents’ deaths, but felt unexpectedly empty once their greatest enemy was gone 19 21.
Following the victory, Allen helped persuade Roger to accept the chief’s position. He agreed to Roger’s new rules and remained with the force when it was renamed the Nether Luo Tribe 22.
Stewardship of Netherlo City
Allen increasingly devoted himself to administration as Roger’s cultivation outpaced his own. He kept the tribe organized and arranged regular collections of Sanctuary souls, but some veteran Lowgods and a Godhead-refining Midgod only partially obeyed his orders when Roger was absent. Roger supplied two darkness Godheads so Allen could create a loyal contracted Midgod subordinate and strengthen his authority 24 29.
When Roger founded Netherlo City on Frostwhisper Plain, Allen was entrusted with the construction work. After the inner city’s completion, Roger praised the organizers and assigned Allen to distribute one hundred Soul Gold Beads according to their contributions 32 33.
Allen’s influence eventually ranked second in the city. He handled routine affairs while Roger’s water Highgod clone provided protection and intervened only in major matters, allowing Roger and Mia to travel through the Netherworld 35.
As the city’s operations stabilized, Allen delegated minor matters and freed more time for cultivation. Roger later summoned him to the Undead Sacred Mountain, where he provided a Netherlo Ring and earth-law soul fragments. Allen pursued Highgod strength to secure his position as deputy city lord, returning to the city to maintain its operations during his training 43 44.
Appearance
- Build: Burly, with broad shoulders, large hands, and a powerful chest 1 3 5.
- Face: Described as a rugged-looking young man at his introduction 1.
- Clothing: Initially wears an ocher robe 1.
- Divine power: His earth divine power appears earthen-yellow 19 32.
Personality
Allen is deeply loyal to Roger, treating him as a brother rather than merely a childhood friend. He willingly takes on additional labor and sacrifices cultivation time for Roger’s sake. When offered soul essence, he initially refuses because he believes Roger’s advancement to Midgod is more important than his own progress 3 4 10.
Despite his imposing appearance, Allen is talkative, expressive, and generally easygoing. He lectures Roger for hours about reckless cultivation, openly cries with relief at his godhood, and enthusiastically praises his later achievements. He acknowledges his ordinary talent without becoming bitter about Roger’s extraordinary speed 1 5 16 24.
Allen takes particular satisfaction in administration: watching Netherlo City grow pleases him more than increasing his own strength. He nevertheless enjoys authority and longs for adventure, expressing a wish to accompany Roger through the Netherworld once his responsibilities and strength permit it 35.
His loyalty includes discretion and respect for Roger’s position. He keeps Roger’s Midgod breakthrough private until Roger announces it, and later insists on addressing him as “City Lord” publicly while continuing to use his name in private 15 33.

- Highgod Artifact — Supplied by Roger before his departure from Netherlo City; its type is not specified 35.
- Netherlo Ring — Roger’s Soul Defense Divine Artifact. Once bound, it protects Allen’s soul ocean and can completely block attacks that do not exceed Roger’s soul-attack strength; the passage describes him as protected against Asura-level soul attacks and below. It does not provide physical defense 43 44.

- Soul Gold Beads — Roger’s continuing supply strengthens Allen’s original body and divine clone and supports his cultivation 24 35.
- Three earth-law soul fragments — Contain limit-level comprehension of his remaining mysteries. They accelerate comprehension but leave Allen responsible for overcoming each final bottleneck 43 44.
Relationships
- Roger — Childhood friend and sworn-in-spirit brother, not a stated blood relative. Allen supports Roger before his rise; Roger reciprocates with protection, cultivation guidance, resources, and administrative trust 1 3 10 35 43.
- Allen’s parents — Two deceased Lowgods who gave him knowledge of the Death Edict. Their deaths during the Black Bat invasion motivate his pursuit of strength 3 4.
