Four Items for Trade
However, Kronos knew it wasn't the right time to continue threatening him; sensing Cronus's current state of mind, the possibility of him taking him down with him was quite high.
So Kronos spoke up, "Mr. Isengard, what are you thinking? I'm still waiting to trade with you."
This sentence disrupted Isengard's mental reverie, pulling him directly out of his fantasy and preventing him from continuing to imagine anything about life or death.
Isengard snapped out of his reverie and looked at Kronos, cautiously asking, "Is Mr. Klein the gentleman from the party?"
Kronos said with interest, "My face hasn't changed, my voice hasn't changed, I don't believe you just recognized me."
Isengard gritted his teeth and said, "It's true that I didn't just recognize it, but how did you know the Eye of Wisdom was mine?"
Kronos laughed. "You're just a Sequence 7 Keeper of Knowledge. Do you really think you're Omniscience? Perhaps your disguise is quite good within your own Sequence, but there are still too many Sequence Above the Sequence you."
That was just Kronos showing off; his confidence came entirely from the original story.
But seeing Isengard nodding, as if he regarded that statement as gospel, Kronos felt incredibly pleased.
After enjoying the feeling for a while, Kronos saw that Isengard's condition had returned to normal, so he prepared to get down to business.
Are you still planning to switch to 2-081? If so, do it now.
Isengard thought about it and decided that the time was good; it was broad daylight, and in his house, there shouldn't be any double-crossing issues, making it much safer.
So he said to Kronos, "Exchange is possible, but you must also hand over your goods; it's a cash-on-delivery transaction."
"No problem, the things are on the carriage outside. I'll go get them. You can go and get 2-081 too."
The Beyonder Item that Kronos chose were not insignificant; carrying them around would be inconvenient, so he left them on the carriage outside.
Isengard naturally had no reason to disagree and nodded.
Having reached an agreement, the two went their separate ways: Isengard went upstairs to retrieve 2-081, while Kronos went to the carriage to get the four Beyonder Item.
Isengard was naturally closer, and in less than ten minutes, he returned to his seat and waited for Kronos to come back.
Kronos was quick too, and didn't keep Isengard waiting long before returning with a bag.
Upon seeing that Isengard had arrived, Kronos didn't waste any time and immediately threw a whole bag of Beyonder Item in front of Isengard, saying, "Here you go. Take a good look. Inside are four Beyonder Item that I've picked out. See which one you'd like to exchange for."
Isengard knew this man was "generous," but he didn't expect him to be this extravagant.
Seeing this, Isengard handed the Ring- shaped Sealed Artifact 2-081 to Kronos. He couldn't very well be rummaging through someone else's Beyonder Item while still clinging to his own Sealed Artifact.
Kronos didn't say anything, simply accepted the Ring, and then gestured for Isengard to accept it.
After obtaining 2-081, the first thing Kronos naturally wanted to do was test it out, otherwise, what if he was tricked?
There's no need to use any Eyes of Mystery Prying; just try it with your Spirituality.
After using his Spirituality to activate 2-081, Kronos instantly felt that the whole world was different.
The power of this Sealed Artifact does not affect the eyes, so it's not that the world he sees has changed.
In Kronos's eyes, the world remained the same, but the world that the brain could comprehend was entirely different.
The only problem is that Kronos can feel a slight pain in his brain, and this pain is gradually increasing. This should be the negative effect of this Sealed Artifact.
Kronos only has one Sealed Artifact left, while Isengard has four; they can only examine them one by one.
Kronos knew he wasn't on the Paragon Pathway, so he thoughtfully attached a label to each Beyonder Item, listing Information about its Beyonder Item.
The four Beyonder Item were of different sizes, and Isengard picked them up blindly, so the first ones he took out were all large items.
The first one is a pale yellow War Blade, the most common combat weapon.
Isengard removed the label and examined it carefully.
"Bright Light War Blade: Corresponds to the Dawn Knight, Sequence 6."
"Beyonder Ability: Blade Light Storm, capable of unleashing countless, dawn-like blades, densely packed and numerous, forming a shimmering and violent hurricane that sweeps forward, capable of directly destroying human bodies, annihilating Wraith, and even wounding Evil Spirit."
"Negative effect: You need to pray to the God of Combat one hundred times after each use."
This War Blade is incredibly powerful; it's questionable whether a typical Sequence 5 weapon could even withstand a single blow.
However, this issue of faith essentially eliminated the possibility of Isengard choosing it.
The South-Central Nations are quite different from other countries on the continent. The other countries are all large countries, and their Royal Family were once great nobles during the Fourth Epoch Age. After dividing up the spoils of the War of the Four Emperors, they all had Sequence One. Therefore, even if their strength is lower than that of the Church, they will not be easily controlled.
However, the South-Central Nations are different. They were originally part of the Feynapotter Kingdom, but due to a conflict of faith, a serious conflict arose between the Church of the Earth Mother and the Church of Knowledge.
Subsequently, the Loen Kingdom and the Intis Kingdom seized the opportunity to invade, directly tearing apart the territory of the Feynapotter Kingdom.
Therefore, the kingdoms of Lenburg, Masik, and Segar, located at the border of Loen and Feynapotter, and at the border of Intis and Feynapotter, gained independence and primarily worshipped the "God of Knowledge and Wisdom." Within the Feynapotter Kingdom, only the "Church of the Earth Mother" remained.
The Royal Family of the Feynapotter Kingdom could keep the Church of the Earth Mother in check, but the kingdoms of Lenburg, Masik, and Segar were a different story; they were utterly powerless against the Church of Knowledge.
Therefore, the Church of Knowledge truly implemented the divine right of kings in these small countries, and the king of a country had to obtain the Pope's consent to ascend the throne.
That's why other churches haven't been known to cultivate spies, but the Church of Knowledge does. These spies are from the South-Central Nations, which makes them equivalent to members of the Church of Knowledge.
Isengard could not possibly betray his beliefs, so he set the War Blade aside and completely lost interest in it.
The second item was a pair of leather boots.
"Wind-blessed Boots: Corresponds to Sequence 6 Wind-blessed."
"Beyonder Ability: 1. Levitation, 2. Water Control, 3. Wind Blade. (These are easy to understand, so no further explanation is needed.)"
Negative effects: 1. Users may become irritable and easily angered, but this can be managed with regular intervention.
2. Users will gradually become dehydrated and need to replenish fluids promptly; otherwise, they may experience severe dehydration, which could even be life-threatening.
This is an Beyonder Item of considerable value; the methods are numerous, and the side effects are not too severe.
But Isengard won't make a decision so quickly; he'll have to read everything first.
The third one is a boxing glove.
"Distortion Gauntlet: Corresponds to Sequence 6, the Baron of Corruption."
Beyonder Ability: 1. A person who wears boxing gloves will possess immense strength, capable of punching through a wall.
2. Distortion: By Distortion the meaning of the target's language, actions, and intentions, one constructs a certain Order that benefits oneself, thereby achieving the goal of restricting or influencing the opponent.
"Negative effects: Continued use will make the user dark and Greed, leading to unwise choices."
As for the fourth one, it's a hat.
"The Hat of Order: Corresponds to the Judge of Sequence 6."
"Beyonder Ability: After proclaiming Ancient Hermes, one can Making Rules or render a ruling."
"Negative effect: While the Decree is in effect, the user's body will remain in a weakened state."
These four Beyonder Item were selected by Kronos from the Storeroom; each one could be described as quite ordinary.
Because they are all custom-made by the Church of Steam and Machinery, they have a mass-produced feel, so there won't be any overly powerful skills, and of course, there won't be any unbearable negative effects.
Apart from the first War Blade, which involved matters of faith, Isengard believed that the remaining three Beyonder Item were all suitable for him and would significantly enhance his combat abilities.
However, considering himself a cultured person, Isengard actually dislikes close combat, so the Distortion Gauntlet can be ruled out.
The remaining Hat of Order Wind-blessed Boots, are both fine; they're easy to carry and can be worn directly.
Isengard was somewhat conflicted about this choice.
Seeing Isengard's hesitation, Kronos spoke directly, "I can tell you don't like that knife and gauntlets. It seems you don't really like close combat."
Isengard, upon hearing Kronos's words, replied, "I'm too old; it's no longer suitable."
Kronos continued, "If you're willing to trust me, then I suggest you choose those boots. I don't know if you know this, but the more Beyonder Ability an Beyonder Item possesses, the better its quality."
"The hat only has one ability, while the boots have three. That's a significant difference. If one day you no longer need it, you can exchange it for money or other Beyonder Item. The boots will be more valuable than the hat."
Isengard was a little confused. "I feel your suggestion is very sincere, but I don't quite understand why you're giving me this advice. If I choose the less valuable Beyonder Item, can't you just recycle the more valuable one?"
Kronos chuckled. "Where did you get the idea that I'm short of money?"
