The Fence Association
After what happened, Kronos felt he should keep a lower profile.
Putting everything else aside, Jason's matter should be postponed as much as possible.
Coincidentally, Kronos was just looking forward to making time to study the Chaos Scroll, but he hadn't decided whether to do it before or after killing Jason.
Now everything's alright, God has made the choice for him, and he doesn't need to struggle with it anymore.
I was afraid Jason would run away, so I wanted to get there as quickly as possible.
Jason's only asset in Backlund is his share in Kain Bank, and the Butler is plotting to oust all the other shareholders.
Once the Butler succeeds, Jason will have lost his only asset. If he then tries to leave, Kronos won't know where to find the Beria Family.
Now everything is no longer a problem; Marquis Argel has halted all actions, including those on the Butler's side.
All of Argel's businesses remain at the stage of inventory and planning; no substantial action will be taken.
That way Jason won't leave Backlund. We can wait until the Scroll is finished; there'll be plenty of time.
Perhaps Kronos could even replace Jason's identity and acquire the shares without spending a penny, setting an example for other shareholders. This would be more than just a win-win situation; he could reap all the benefits.
Klein has killed many people, but he has never been able to take over all the property like this before.
Since that's the case, Kronos didn't need to take any further action. He simply had Servants deliver a message to the Butler, instructing him to inform him before taking any action.
Although he knew the Royal Family might send people to keep an eye on him, Kronos's life entered a rare period of peace.
He moved back to the Laboratory and began researching and experimenting with several New Materials.
As for verifying the Skill Scroll, Kronos didn't devote all his energy to it, since there hadn't been much progress so far, and he could only slowly sense it.
Kronos tried his best to familiarize himself with this flawed Design Plan, hoping to more easily perceive Design Plan errors. However, he gradually realized that if he became completely familiar with this manufacturing method, he might even lose the ability to sense the awkwardness.
So from that day on, Kronos moved to the Laboratory and began to devote most of his energy to other things, only taking some time each day to work on the Scroll.
Ironically, this lifestyle brought about a turning point.
No longer fixated on grinding proficiency, Kronos began to try to feel the problems in the crafting process with his heart and Spirituality.
Gradually, Kronos was able to pinpoint the number and approximate location of the flaws in the entire design through his uneasy feeling, and perhaps he would be able to find the specific locations and solutions later.
That night, Kronos suddenly felt a tremor.
It wasn't a general shaking like an earthquake, but rather a vibration just around my ears.
Half-asleep, Kronos reached for his pillow, groping around, and muttered, "Who is it calling in the middle of the night!"
After saying this, Kronos suddenly woke up. He had been so confused that he thought his phone hadn't been turned off on vibrate.
But what was that just now? It felt just like a phone vibrating.
Upon regaining consciousness, Kronos discovered that there had been no vibration in the Real World, and he felt nothing on his bed, but the vibration in his ears had not stopped.
Only then did Kronos Consciousness that this was due to Beyonder Ability.
After the Eyes of Mystery Prying was activated, Kronos clearly saw a power connecting him to his body.
This doesn't make sense. Normally, someone with the ability to Concealment of Time wouldn't have any other abilities connected to them unless they activated it themselves.
Looking in the direction of this force, I discovered it originated from my own desk.
Is this my own stuff? Then why don't I remember it?
Kronos immediately got up, went to his desk, and gently opened the drawer from which the power was flowing.
The drawer was filled with various odds and ends, among which a small box was emitting a faint blue light.
It wasn't until he saw the box that Kronos remembered what it was.
After picking up the box, Kronos gently opened it, and sure enough, this was it— the Entry Pass for the Fence Association.
He gently picked up the Badge, and sure enough, it was this medal that was vibrating.
The moment I picked up the medal, a piece of Information flashed through my mind. "8 PM, February 23, 1348, White Cliff Town."
This must be the time and place where the Fence Association was held.
February 23rd, that's three days from now. As for White Cliff Town, that name sounds familiar.
After careful recollection, Kronos had to admire the organizers of the gathering. Although there was no concrete evidence that the gathering was an organization under the Hermits of Fate, the accuracy rate was over ninety percent.
This organization actually held a gathering right in front of the Mausoleum of Amon; I don't know if it was because they were unaware of the situation or if they were deliberately trying to hide it from the public.
The tactic of "blind spots" might work even for True God, but it might not be so effective against Amon. Who knows how many Avatar he has?
Therefore, Kronos guessed that the Hermits of Fate probably didn't know about this either, or at least the person in charge of it didn't.
From this perspective, it's unlikely that Amon couldn't find the Hermits of Fate; more likely, he hadn't had enough fun yet, which is why he didn't completely wipe them out.
Alright, anyway, Kronos has already given up on the idea of using the Yodsen Marionette to infiltrate the Hermits of Fate.
The main problem is that my Spirituality simply can't hold up, and now there's another reason: I'm afraid of being targeted by Amon.
So I'll just honestly attend the Fence Association myself. As for the Hermits of Fate, I'll talk about that later.
On February 23, Kronos arrived at White Cliff Town in the afternoon. It's not far from Backlund, but it's not exactly close either. Rushing over there would definitely be too late, so it's better to arrive a little earlier.
As soon as Kronos entered the territory of White Cliff Town, he sensed the guidance from the Badge.
The Violent Bear had told him that the Badge would initially only provide a general location, but once the location was reached, the Badge would guide the participant to the corresponding position.
Following the directions on the Badge, Kronos strolled through White Cliff Town.
Before long, he arrived at a Woods east of White Cliff Town. There was no one in the Woods at the time, but Kronos could clearly see signs of human activity.
The weeds and stones on the ground had been cleared away, and there were still quite a few footprints.
This should be the place. There are signs that someone came here to rest beforehand, probably in preparation for tonight's Fence Association.
Kronos wandered around the Woods for a while before leaving, mainly to familiarize himself with the surroundings in case of an emergency.
Upon returning to town, Kronos headed straight for the very center of the town.
In a town like this, the central location is usually occupied by the government, Church, and hospital.
Kronos arrived at a house next to the Storm Church, pushed open the door and went inside. Just as the person at the door was about to say something, Kronos waved a Ring in front of him and then walked inside.
This is the best Inn in White Cliff Town, conveniently located and safe, making it Kronos's first choice.
The reason he showed the Ring to the people at the door was because this was Argel Family property, and the Ring was a symbol, equivalent to revealing his identity.
The Argel Family owns properties in many locations across the country, and in many places, they own more than one property.
Some of these properties are Villa in nice locations, so they were preserved as residences.
Some of these were clearly unsuitable for nobles to live in, and they were mostly converted into Inn, which is how the one where Kronos is now staying came about.
Although the Argel Family didn't like the house, after converting it into Inn, it was indeed the best in White Cliff Town.
There are only a few core members left in the Argel Family, so the people in the Inn immediately guessed who the newcomer was.
Kronos checked directly into the top-floor Luxury Suite. While the facilities there were somewhat inferior to those in Backlund, they were still quite good.
After checking in, Kronos began to take stock of all his belongings.
You must have a sufficient understanding of your own capabilities; otherwise, you are prone to misjudgment when unexpected events occur.
On the Table in front of Kronos were more than thirty Scroll, all of which he Fence Association.
Moreover, there were several Beyonder Item taken from the family Storeroom.
For example, the Bright Light War Blade, Distortion Gauntlet, and Hat of Order that I mentioned before, as well as the Vampire Mask and Vampire’s Heart that I always wear, and the Cloak whose function I haven't been able to figure out yet.
This Cloak is the one I bought in Bayam. It must have been sealed by some powerful means, which is why I still can't use it.
However, since Kronos often needed a Cloak to conceal himself, he always carried it with him.
Although there were Beyonder Item of Sequence 5 in the Storeroom, Kronos did not take them. These were probably enough. Although the other high-level Beyonder Item had stronger attack power, their negative effects were also greater, which would actually affect combat power.
After tidying up, Kronos lay down on the bed to rest.
This was the first time Kronos had attended this Fence Association, and he had been traveling all morning. He needed to recover his strength first, lest he become tired at night and delay his business, which would be a great loss.
