If Amyrius had harbored any resentment towards MI9 because of the Ruins, that resentment had now completely vanished.

The facts are already clear: this Ruins did not MI9, but was investigated by the Royal Family. It would be unreasonable to pin the blame on MI9 after knowing the truth.

It seems that Prince Grove on the other side of the portal can't see what's happening here at all; he can only transmit sound over.

So Kronos was too scared to utter a sound, and obediently squinted to the side, genuinely afraid that the prince would have Amyrius kill him.

The reason this prince is given the title of Sonia is because he was the Supreme Commander of the Sonia Navy before achieving Sequence 3. Although it is unknown whether Amyrius had any dealings with him, it wouldn't be an exaggeration to call him an "old leader".

If this relationship were to exceed his appreciation of Kronos, he might actually turn around and kill Kronos, which would be a truly unjust death.

So Kronos only breathed a long sigh of relief after the three of them left the space and returned to the second passageway.

Amyrius, amused, said from the side, "What's wrong? Afraid that Prince Grove will order me to get rid of you?"

"How could I not be afraid? MI9 is in charge, Prince Grove is in control. This is a huge deal, and I'm just a weak, pitiful, and helpless Sequence 7."

Amyrius bluntly replied, "You're overthinking it. Although I'm a naval Admiral, directly under the Royal Family and His Majesty, my position is inherently that of a nobleman, and you are also a nobleman. Killing you won't require my intervention."

Then he continued, "If that level of secrecy is required, neither of us will survive. Prince Grove will Descent here soon, and tomorrow's newspapers will report, ' Admiral Amyrius of the Levett Family and the heir of the Argel Family were killed by Pirate in Bayam.'"

"That's because you don't know what this is all about, that's why you're so at ease. We're just scouts, so there's no need for us to be silenced," Kronos thought to himself.

Listening to the conversation between the two, Gner followed casually behind. It wasn't that he was stupid, but he knew that he had no say in this matter. If he became rich, he would become rich with Kronos; if he was silenced, he would die with him. It was just that his name would definitely not appear in the newspapers; at most, he would be referred to as "a group of people."

Returning along the same route would be much faster, and the three of them quickly reached the entrance to the passage, but the Gate was already closed.

Kronos went up and gave it a symbolic push, then turned back and shrugged at Amyrius.

"This road is unobstructed," Emilius's authoritative voice rang out.

This is the Imperative Mage's specialty: Making Rules.

Perhaps because the door had already been activated with Charm, it slowly opened as the Decree was issued.

Having been in darkness for a long time, Kronos felt his eyes were dazzled when he suddenly encountered light.

The Personal Guards outside were still waiting, and when they saw Amyrius come out, they all saluted.

Amyrius nodded to them, then turned to Kronos and said, "I'm going back now. Should I take you back directly, or will you come with the group?"

In fact, Kronos really wanted to be less pretentious, but unfortunately, human instincts prevailed over that thought.

"I'll go with you, it'll be faster."

The others didn't stand out much. Of course, if you can be faster, you'd choose the faster way. Who would want to run 100 kilometers if they could avoid it? It's just that they weren't qualified to be led by a Admiral.

Amyrius nodded, then grabbed Kronos's shoulder.

The two then disappeared from the spot, returning moments later to Amyrius's office at the Navy Base.

"Beyonder Item from Traveler?" Kronos asked.

Amyrius didn't hide anything. "That's right. If you ever have the chance to come across one, be sure to grab it. It's really useful, not just for traveling, but also for saving your life."

"But it's not easy to find! It's supposed to be a very comprehensive Pathway, but Mr. Door has made it so that no one can choose it anymore." Of course, this was Kronos's inner rant.

After calming his thoughts, Kronos looked at Amyrius somewhat awkwardly, then said, "General, I feel I made a significant contribution to this operation. What do you think about the reward?"

Amyrius's facial muscles twitched noticeably. The Personal Guards outside were unaware, and neither was the man who had followed him inside. Amyrius had gained nothing from this operation, yet he still had the audacity to ask for a reward.

But to be honest, Kronos's contribution this time was indeed significant. Without him, the search for the Ruins might have taken months.

In the end Amyrius couldn't swallow his pride and resorted to shamelessness with Kronos.

He took a Dark Gold Charm out of his pocket and handed it to Kronos.

"This is High-Grade Charm I created using my own blood, the Ancient codes of the Fourth Epoch, and a '0' level Sealed Artifact of the Royal Family," Amyrius said calmly. "It's called the ' Ninth Law,' and with a small amount of Spirituality, it can project a similar sense of Majesty as I do."

"Under full activation, one can briefly use the Imperative Mage's abilities, up to five times, with a validity period of five years."

Upon hearing this, Kronos paused for a moment, slightly taken aback.

This Ninth Law Charm appeared in the original work; Amyrius used it to hire Klein to impersonate him.

The basic functions of that Charm and this Charm are the same, but it seems that the Charm can only be used once, while this one can be used five times.

Kronos asked hesitantly, "I seem to have heard of this Charm, but the book says it can only be used once?"

Amyrius glanced at him. "This one was made with better materials, and I endured more negative effects to create it. If you want that kind, I have some here too."

"No need for that." Kronos quickly put away the Charm, then turned and slipped out of Amyrius's office.

Seeing Kronos's swift movements, Amyrius was speechless. Could he possibly renege on his promise?

Less than two minutes later, the office door opened again, and a head poked in. Amyrius looked up and saw that it was none other than Kronos.

"Is there anything else?" Amyrius asked.

"Well, it's too far to walk back to the city from here. Do you have any spare carriages that could give me a ride?" Kronos said in a low voice.

This was largely thanks to Amyrius being a Demigod; otherwise, his hearing wouldn't have been sufficient to hear that sentence.

"I'll have Lü Er'an arrange a carriage for you. Get out of here now."

If Lü Er'an were here, he would be dumbfounded. He had followed Amyrius for so many years and had never seen this general Your Excellency, nor had he ever shown any obvious emotional fluctuations.

In fact, Kronos knew how to treat a Admiral and a Demigod.

But actually, he did it on purpose; he wanted to find out the general's attitude towards him and the Argel Family through this series of events.

Now Kronos had a better understanding of the situation. Even Amyrius's true direct descendants in the Levett Family would only enjoy the same treatment Kronos.

Perhaps after returning to Backlund, he could really discuss with the Marquis Argel how to improve his relationship with Amyrius and win over an outsider.

When Kronos arrived at the entrance of the Navy Base, Lü Er'an was already waiting there.

"Secretary Lü Er'an, it's been a long time." Kronos shook hands with him politely.

Lü Er'an smiled and said, "It seems the mission went smoothly. Admiral Your Excellency, you've already been there, otherwise you wouldn't have returned so quickly."

Kronos smiled and said, "I can't say. This is an order from MI9."

This is actually why many generals and nobles dislike MI9; unless they are far removed from power, their Secretary all come from MI9.

Not to mention Amyrius, even Duke Negan's Secretary was from MI9, and in the end, he betrayed Duke Negan at a crucial moment.

Some people may get along well with their Secretary, but that doesn't mean they won't harbor some resentment.

Upon hearing Kronos's words, Lü Er'an immediately stopped asking questions and instead took a bag from the carriage behind him and handed it to Kronos.

Kronos, puzzled, took the bag. Inside was supposedly a stack of papers. He didn't open it, but instead looked at Lü Er'an.

"This is the False Identity you asked me to create. I compiled this information through several different connections. Apart from the general and myself, even the people who created the information don't know the truth."

After saying this, Lü Er'an walked into the Navy Base.

After taking a few steps, he turned back to look at Kronos. "Mr. Klein, I joined MI9 when I was young, just for a bite to eat. I underwent a lot of training and suffered a lot. It's a time I don't want to remember."

"After Admiral became Demigod Your Excellency, MI9. Perhaps many people still believe that my relationship with MI9 cannot be broken, but from now on I will only serve Your Excellency, Admiral. I don't need others to believe this; I know it myself."

After saying that, Lü Er'an left without looking back.

At this moment, Kronos clearly sensed that his usually gentle Secretary, who always wore a faint smile, was truly angry, just as Kronos reminded him that she was from MI9.
