Rhodes gripped the Tribulation-Breaking Divine Sword, looked at Bollet, and shouted, "Come fight!!!"
Not intending to drag things out, Rhodes immediately used his Lightning Law, in which he had already fused three profound mysteries.
Across from Rhodes, Bollet also secretly prepared to use his innate divine ability, just about to transform into his true Earth Giant form. Already skilled at defense, if he returned to his true form and then used his innate divine ability, even the Zijing Couple together would have to fight him for a while. My defense is just that strong. At that thought, Bollet grew even prouder.
I'm not just strong, I use my head too. Traveling around in a young man's appearance and switching to my true form in battle really does catch people off guard.
At that moment, the divine sword in Rhodes's hand had already condensed the energy of the Ten Thousandfold Thunder Prison into a single-target offensive divine ability. The lightning had originally been purple, but now it gleamed black, without even arcs of electricity flickering around it. Anyone who did not know better would have thought Rhodes cultivated the Destruction Rule!
As for Bollet opposite him, he seemed to sense something and immediately transformed into his true form. The next instant, he activated his innate divine ability, enveloping himself in an earthy-yellow glow.
All of that took a while to describe, but it actually happened in the mere instant after Rhodes finished saying, "Come fight."
Boom! The earthy-yellow glow shattered, and a pitch-black sword shadow drove that towering figure into the rock beneath him to an unknown depth.
The sword shadow reached Bollet's eyes just after he activated his innate divine ability. Bollet had originally wanted to test Rhodes with his true Earth Giant form first. He had never expected to use his strongest defense right from the start and still fail to withstand this attack.
If he could do it over, he definitely would not have chosen to spar.
Without anyone directing them, the three Amethyst Behemoths were at a loss, not knowing what to do-whether to attack or not.
Time seemed to stand still. Rhodes's soul power told him clearly that Bollet had suffered severe injuries from his single strike and was restoring his divine body deep underground.
Rhodes did not intend to launch a second attack. Otherwise, he really would send the man to his grave, the kind that left his divine spark behind. Rhodes did not want a divine spark that had not been left willingly.
When Bollet switched divine bodies, Rhodes had sensed that Bollet would struggle to withstand his full-powered strike, so he had held back a little. Otherwise, it really was hard to say whether Bollet would still be able to recover now.
Meanwhile, deep underground, Bollet was utterly terrified. It's not as though I've never sparred with the two leaders in the alliance, but I've never lost this quickly! Or been injured this badly!
Once his divine body recovered, Bollet flew out from underground and looked at Rhodes and Pash with a complicated expression. "Let's go. I can't beat you. I'll take you to the leaders. Once you enter the alliance, watch yourselves. Our alliance has quite a few Midgods. Don't come in only to find you can't leave!!"
After speaking, Bollet paid Rhodes and Pash no further attention. He called to the Amethyst Monsters and flew back the way he had come.
Naturally, Rhodes and Pash needed no further discussion and followed Bollet at a moderate distance. After flying for a short while, they encountered a group of Lowgods coming toward them. Bollet paused briefly, and all the Lowgods turned to follow him toward the alliance.
The journey of tens of millions of li passed uneventfully. After about a month, Rhodes and the others reached the Amethyst Mountains, which were also the Amethyst Alliance's headquarters.
"So these are the Amethyst Mountains?" Pash said, standing beside Rhodes.
The Amethyst Mountains stretched across a vast area, hundreds of thousands of li around.
An area hundreds of thousands of li around was certainly nothing too exaggerated in the Infernal Realm, but at least at a glance, it was vast and boundless, with no end in sight.
At the same time, white mist drifted over the Amethyst Mountains.
Strangely, only the white mist was visible, not the Amethyst Mountains themselves.
Just as the original story described. Although the Amethyst Mountains are a mountain range, they're also called the "Mist Sea." From outside, you can't see even a trace of rock, only endless stretches of white mist, Rhodes marveled inwardly.
Beside him, Pash also gazed at the beautiful scenery before them, feeling refreshed and relaxed.
White mist swirled across hundreds of thousands of li, and the blood-red sunlight shining down from the sky refracted through it, creating a dazzling sight that truly lifted the spirits.
Looking at Rhodes, who had stopped, Pash asked, "These are the Amethyst Mountains you mentioned?" Pash could not believe it. This was clearly a sea of mist, so why was it called a mountain range?
"Let's go down." At a thought, Rhodes flew straight toward the castle below where Bollet had just gone. Pash froze for a moment, but reacted quickly and followed Rhodes down.
On the ground at the outermost edge of the Amethyst Mountains, Rhodes could see at least a dozen castles within his field of vision alone.
There were also countless Saint-level beings trying their luck collecting amethyst at the very edge of the Mist Sea. There were plenty of Lowgods in the Mist Sea as well. The most basic requirement for collecting amethyst in the Mist Sea was joining the Amethyst Alliance. Otherwise, one would not even have a chance to try one's luck at the outermost edge.
Just as Rhodes and Pash landed at the castle entrance, Bollet emerged from inside. In that brief time, more than a dozen Midgods came out of the neighboring castles and surrounded Rhodes and Pash.
"What's this? Bollet, are you planning to keep us here?" Rhodes frowned as he looked at Bollet, and his aura began to fluctuate.
Bollet had indeed entertained that idea earlier, but while Rhodes and Pash were admiring the Mist Sea, he had already sent someone to notify the Zijing Couple. After all, neither of these two was weak. Even if they fought, they would probably lose many companions.
"That's not what I meant. I've already sent someone to notify the leaders. Now we just wait for them to come. We'll wait right here!" After saying that, Bollet fell silent, as though he would not say another word until Zijing and her husband arrived.
Rhodes could not be bothered to converse with this group either. Instead, he and Pash began communicating through divine sense.
"Pash, we only came to 'pick up' a little amethyst. How much do you think the Zijing Couple will let us pick up?"
"Hard to say, I think. The two of us will probably need quite a lot, and it's not as though we've never gotten any before. This stuff takes an especially long time to refine. Even if we pick up enough, we'll probably still have to spend some time refining it before we can strengthen our souls to the limit."
"All right, let's pick up some extra. Aside from needing it to strengthen our souls after we become Highgods, I've heard that deities who cultivate the Death Law can turn amethyst into Soul Gold Beads! Those are easy to refine."
"Then when we run into one, we'll grab them and have them make Soul Gold Beads for us. I still want to fight Zijing and her husband first."
"Fight, fight, fight. Pash, is fighting the only thing in your head?"
After chatting for a while, Rhodes dropped his joking manner and transmitted to Pash again, "We'll definitely have a fight with the Zijing Couple. After all, we forced their subordinate to bring us to their headquarters. Whether it's for their dignity or the alliance's stability, they'll definitely fight us."
As though still worried, Rhodes added, "You must watch out for the control of their innate divine abilities. Or they might already have incorporated their innate divine abilities into their regular moves. Either way, we need to watch out for their gravity control."
Pash was utterly exasperated.
Rhodes looked at Pash and smiled. After all, the two had spent fifty years together, cultivating, fighting, and sparring, supporting each other all along the way. Rhodes did not want anything to happen to Pash. He was even wondering whether, when the Sovereign Sparks descended, he should help Pash seize a more powerful one.
At the very least, he should seize an intermediate Sovereign Spark. In the original story, Pash had most likely been a Lower Sovereign of the Destruction Element.
Time passed as the two chatted. Before long, a man and a woman flew out of the Mist Sea. The man had purple hair and was tall and handsome. The woman also had purple hair, and seemed to blend the charms of a young maiden and a beautiful young wife. She was truly captivating, making anyone who saw her lose themselves in her gentleness.
Looking at the two, Rhodes understood that they were probably the Zijing Couple.
The Midgods who had surrounded Rhodes and Pash all flew toward the Zijing Couple, finally hovering behind them.
Although this was the first time in all these years that more than a dozen Midgods with powerful auras had surrounded him, Rhodes felt no fear whatsoever. Pash, meanwhile, already seemed to be boiling with battle intent, Destruction Divine Power flickering constantly around him.
"Are you the two who wanted to see us?" A pleasant voice rang out beside their ears. It was the Sovereign Zijing from the original story, asking Rhodes and Pash why they had come.
